Nice job. Christie, we could see your comfort level and skill improve with each pass you made. Quick learning curve! Glad to see you take on some of the driving duties. Sorry to hear about all the trials you faced over the winter at the new place and the “cost overruns”. That sure stings. But as always, you two pushed through and I think this year you can start to enjoy the house and property properly the way you envisioned it as you make it your own more and more.
WOW Christy great job! I sometimes forget how important you are to this channel that I love so much. It was cool seeing you on camera working on a project and it looks like you really enjoyed it. Thank you for your contribution!!
First of all I wanna say is I am a 36-year-old male and I’m glad to see a woman doing work I’m glad to see you’re on the machines I love your guises videos seeing her do some of the jobs helps other women get confidence in doing it themselves also
We put our geothermal system in last year and couldn't be happier. I was given the task of digging about 800' of trench (3x 200' + a 200' feeder) 5' deep with a Yanmar 55 mini. because of my vast experience with an excavator. (About 40 minutes total time prior) Our ground is sandy clay, but the water table is about 30' and I dug the trenches in July At the same time we also installed a whole house solar system. Heating and electric used to be about $4500 a year w/o AC now it is about $400with AC. Tax credits negated all income tax for 2019 and left some carryover for 2020. We are 70ish so we may not recoup all of the cost.
I am very impressed with your Ventrac. It sure makes quick work of the mess in your yard, just like it has done on earlier VV’s...Vinnie Video’s😎 Tim, I think your Apprentice has been paying attention, nice job young lady! We’ve had LOTS of episodes on the Ventrac. Check them out. We’re just getting started with the power rake. It is too early for us to provide expert opinion.
Different features. They are not interchangeable. If your focus is on turf management, Ventrac. If you need more digging, loader work, etc, go with tractor
@@TractorTimewithTim , thanks for getting back to me on that Tim. I like the Ventrac and think that it is a very interesting machine. It certainly cost a lot. It seems to be priced more for the commercial landscaper instead on the homeowner or landowner. How is the machine for mowing compared to a zero turn and what do you like AND dislike about the Ventrac. I know that it handles a bank twice as steep as a zero turn and does well over wet terrain but how about relatively flat yards with considerable obstacles such as tress? Also who is the target buyer for this (i.e. golf courses, landscapers, large landowners)? Thanks, I am a big fan of the show!
I’m probably not the best guy to be answering all of those questions. I do not have experience with a zero turn in real world mowing. The Ventrac rides quite smoothly. That is one unexpected plus. Overall, we really like it.

Sorry to hear about all your issues and overruns with the geothermal system. But once you get everything ironed out your going to love it. We had issues with ours in the beginning trying to run it like a regular gas furnace by lowering the temp in the house when we were gone and then bumping it up when we got home. Thats a no no and a sure way to kick on your supplemental heat because the system is trying to bump the temp up quickly. It took talking to our hvac guy to tell us that you just need to leave it at a steady temperature to make it the most efficient in the way it operates. I hope they finally got everything straightened out so you can start to enjoy your new home. GOD Bless and have a great day Tim and Christy and keep up making great videos
So here in south Florida a company by the name of Bruno heating & air conditioning, were called to peoples homes to see how their systems were running. People would sign a paper that they had shown up. When really Bruno used their signature on them getting credit through some high percent outfit for a new unit whether they need it or not. One guy that was on the local news would have to pay $50,000. on his bill. There were more people going through same deal. Glad for you two getting it all fixed
If it makes you feel any better Tim, it cost us ~$40K to fix our heating issues in our newly purchased house a couple of years ago. $20K for various energy improvements and another $20K to upgrade the hydronic system add a mini-split heat pump on a house built in 2005. I'm so glad that your heating problems are behind you so that you can focus on tractors!
Looks like the power rake is set to low and digs a trench. It is tough to think and set up does a real nice job once the dirt is moved and spread into the right spot. e.g. the grass should be left there but skimmed. That is my guess. Martin - nice clean up job.

Looks Awesome ! What's the reason for not seeding it now ? Jmo, but throw the seed down with some starter fertilizer, scratch it in and look out, lawn be a growing !
The hole point of Geothermal is your pulling heat from the ground (obviously). Something is wrong with the system if the backup heat is still coming on. If you had an air source heat pump, yes you might want something for backup. But most of them are VRF systems now and can handle down to -10F. The only real reason to have backup heat with a Geothermal system is just in case the compressor or pumps have an issue. So if the backup heat is still coming on something is wrong with the system, or it's under sizes.
Sounds like that company needs to go to a refresher course on everything on a geothermal set up. I bet you a million dollars you would of never guessed you would cut down on your regular job to do UA-cam videos. You two do a great job with your videos. Next project is what do you do with the pond LOL
I know you have used dual wheels in some videos. On the ventrac site it says you need to plug the threaded piece that the second wheel shaft fits in. On their video it looks like pvc threaded caps (basically hubcaps). Did ventrac supply caps or do you have to purchase. It looks like the caps keep dirt out of the shaft receiving the second wheel.
Dear Christy, I love being all yours. Tim can have Johnny. You'll always be #1 in my heart. Love always, Venney
