- This @BoreasCampers off road camper has standard features like a fridge, shower, and rock crawling suspension!
Welcome to the new series. Over the next few weeks/months we'll be highlighting various manufacturers of off grid trailers, eventually leading up to revealing which one we end up with (hopefully). We've got a few key requirements that we're looking for but most importantly it has to be able to go where our Jeep goes! And sometimes that means doing some moderate trails just to get to camp.
So if you're a family looking for an off road family camper or trailer, be sure to subscribe and stick around!
Enjoy!

We have a 21 AT and it has been a phenomenal camper! Super smooth on and offroad. Solid piece of American craftsmanship. Picked it up from Out Bound Offroad in Raleigh NC. Great people to work with! We have put some serious east coast miles on our Boreas and it is amazing how well it tows.
This is good to hear!!
We've got 48 nights in our XT! We had an AFrame trailer before and had nothing but problems. The XT has been flawless; hammering it off-road at speed, crawling over rocks, so awesome! I can attest, we do not treat this trailer kindly yet it takes all the punishment we can dish out! Great support from the factory as well. Solid, top, top, piece of kit for sure.
Nice!!
Great walkthrough video. I cannot wait to see the next one. Thank you for sharing. Peace and Safe Travels.
Thanks Craig!!
I own a 22 XT and love it. I added the 23 cubby above the bed up front and its a nice touch. The trailer has all the basics and is built for off roading. Its solid for sure.
That's some good feedback!
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers guys!!!
I have been looking at several types of small off road campers and Have narrowed it down to, Hiker Mid Range XL, ROG12RK and the NOBO10.6. I really like the versatile of the Hiker but the fact they use wood does have some concerns and there is no insulation in the walls, so winter camping is out. I like the fact ROG is all metal but the insulation seems to only be in the roof and floors and not in the walls , which is strange to me. The NOBO 10.6 is also appealing with the inside headroom and water capacity but no hot water option and the overall height is kind of an issue for me. I am leaning more to the ROG12RK in the survival series as the one I will buy in early 2024. It seems to fit more of the things I want/like without feeling like I am sleeping in a coffin.
Yeah its so challenging to find something that hits ALL the right points!
One of things that is hard to find out is the R value . I do a fair amount of winter camping , snow wheeling . River crossing with a Manuel transmission is on my check box list and towing a trailer . I m keeping an eye on your build . The ability to change clothes in bad weather is a must , standing up .
Yeah that's a good point!
Thanks for making this 👏🏻
No problem 😊
Have you looked at the Hiker trailers ? Maybe worth a look they have a very nice offroad model
Supposed to visit with them on Friday!
That the way I am leaning, my family is growing out of our current set up
@@lowe-landeroutdoors0407 if only it would fit in the garage with the RTT!
I’ve looked at the hikers too. This blows a hiker out of the water. As far as I know hikers use plywood even in the Offroad model which makes no sense. Any small water ford and you are asking for rot and mold. This is way more expensive though.
A lot of it comes down to needs vs wants, with wants driving the cost pretty high.
Truth!
What a bargain at $44,900.00 (on their website) all in with some options only $50,000.00 😅🤣. If you haven't checked out the BRS Shepra, it be worth it about the same silly price as this.
Yeah its a little pricey! Will check out the Sherpa, thanks!
for that price you can buy a lottttttttt of trailer somewhere else!!
That's pretty fair to say!
Where’s the AC? 😅
That would be epic!
@@FarFromOrdinary ZeroBreeze Mark 2 make a new little portable unit that fits in the cabinet.
This looks like a coffin on wheels. Not worth the money.
Yeah it's definitely up there in price compared to what we've been testing out.
Over priced! Looks like an ogt trailer
Possibly a little
Expensive heavy junk , too big & not the right stuff you would need nevertheless how extremely expensive these things are but it seems to me that most people are too spoiled today & want their house on wheels which then why spend the time / money to go outdoors but people today are too spoiled beyond belief , people are soft
