  • Ever wanted to go deeper with your favorite climbers? Find out their background, what makes them tick, what drives them on and even how they see themselves?
    In Beyond Limits we delve into the life and mind of self-deprecating British climbing legend Steve McClure to get his very personal take on his climbing career. We track his life from his first steps in the mountains, to the accident that derailed him, and his subsequent journey to become Britain’s best-ever sport climber claiming the prize of the UK’s first 9b.
    And, in parallel to this process of unravelling the psyche of a superstar, we get to see Steve doing what he does best; pulling hard on very small holds. So, in between being grilled about his life, we let Steve loose on Clandestino, 9a, to see if he can tick something off his ‘bucket list’ by grabbing his first route of this grade abroad. And in true Epic TV style there’s one small catch: Steve's got just a week to do it!

    What I appreciate most about Steve is his humility.

    Great film. Out of curiosity though, I’m guessing Steve wears his shoes super small as I’ve seen him in numerous videos now with his laces totally undone and loose so surely the only way he can be keeping them on is if they are extremely tight front-to-back 🤔

    Even more than his (outstanding) climbing, what impresses me is how good he is as a person

    Adam Ondra should be very worried if only Steve McClure one day decides to tighten his shoelaces!

      Better foot flexibility? I would be paranoid of one coming off. Of course no heel hooking either.

      Untied probably because they were filming sections after the send.

      ive heard him say in other videos that he wears them so tight that tying them makes no difference

      @cole Nope! Steve very rarely ties his shoes. Nothing to do with the filming (would be quite a shocking continuity error also...!)

    Since this film is released for free here, how was this financed?

    • @roboabathur9598

      DynoSour probably with sponsorships. If you see he is wearing a shirt with a huge 5.10 logo on it. Using petzl and black diamond quickdraws and other gear. Lastly they make revenue from the ads as well.

    Could a guy like this do something like the el cap or is it night and day difficulty wise?

    • @ethandowse9145
      @ethandowse9145 4 роки тому

      El caps climbing is way easier than this, but a lot longer, it's like comparing a 4 minute mile to a 2 hour marathon, both very hard but very different

      The heel on those blancos has a lot of tension, so your toes are crammed into the front regardless of whether you do the laces up.
