- Not a perfect run by any means, but I'm satisfied with this for now.
The biggest problem is getting hit by SJho's mouth attacks, eating a Nulberry just to get rid of Dragonblight is a major waste of time... I considered going for Raw Duals for that reason, but Savage Jho has such a huge Thunder Weakness ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The Solid Levin Acrus were my final pick due to overall highest damage output of Thunder duals, and really long white sharpness.

A little Kate to the party but personally I run adept CB when fighting this guy since I can focus on counter attacking and rather than being hyper aggressive. And of course Excellent run!
I admit I haven't dabbled with CB too much during my time in MHGU, but I also found Adept style really fun for it :D maybe in a future playthrough 👀
@@hanvelsing oh I totally recommend it! It’s a lot less fast paced but it is soooo satisfying to parry with the shield and then follow up with a spin slash and if the shield doesn’t do you any good, you can always switch to axe mode and use the dodge into the discharge combo!
@@onetoughpickl1729 yea having access to both the Adept guard and dodge - at least in a way - is what I find the most appealing :D

Excellent run! I have a few questions! So I play a male character and I recognize your armor as Zinogre but am not sure which Zinogre armor set it is. Also, what skills do you have slotted in? I haven't sampled Adept style yet but it looks like you have incredible opportunity to dodge pretty much on command. I've used Striker dual blades my whole time in genult and am very curious if Adept would help with this hunt because currently I have only timed out or carted x3 even though I feel like I'm doing a million damage to this thing!!! Any further guidance would be greatly appreciated!!
First off, thanks for the compliment!
I'm not wearing full Zinogre, that's just my transmog set (layered armor). The full set with skills is listed in the end, though I can't tell you what exactly my talisman or decos are, sorry.
The main advantage of adept style is that you can easily avoid most attacks if you have some knowledge of the monster's moveset, the timing for dodges is not too strict, and DBs have one of the best Adept styles imho. Striker DB is pretty strong too, but I prefer the comfort of easy i-frames :^).
If you feel like your damage is lacking, I recommend getting some decently upgraded thunder DBs, and make sure you heal off dragonblight whenever you get it since losing your element entirely is a major DPS loss for elemental DBs.
Furthermore, are you eating for Felyne Insurance? Getting one free cart makes difficult hunts a lot less stressful.

@@hanvelsing You're welcome! and thanks, I closed out too early so thanks for clarifying the skills and armor. The talisman is no biggie, I can sort that stuff out myself. I'm about 630hrs into genult and only NOW starting to consider actually learning s for things like the basic roll but for Savage specifically I think getting up to speed with Adept will really help streamline things since you can dodge-attack instead.
I have Solid Levin Acrus already but don't recall if I used it during my last attempts as it was a while ago. Getting rid of dragonblight will make a world of difference. Just learned that the other day and had no idea that it stripped away elemental. The things I am still learning this many hours in...
I'll consider insurance too. I typically just go for a meal that gives me either L AtK or L Def depending on if it's a risky fight or whatnot (mainly Atk L because I want to be doing as much dmg as possible so that I don't time out). I feel like I'll be going in much more equipped this time around though. I just did the full Silverwind Narga set last night during my stream so I'm really excited to experiment with the evasive benefits.
Are you still playing these days or do you ever jump in and join multiplayer quests? If you are ever interested, you are more than welcome to join us!! Just something to keep in mind. It's one of those games I will always play and I've played it more than any other game in my life so it makes sense to put the time and effort into getting better at it. @@Shmuptopia I haven't played MHGU in quite a while, I tend to stick to the newest release usually (So I've went on to Iceborne and Rise since then). Also I haven't played in online lobbies in probably 8 years^^ I usually prefer playing solo or with my own playgroup.
That being said, if you need help with a particular quest, I could dust off my cartridge and see what we can do, though I am probably really rusty. :D
I feel you on your thoughts regarding the game itself, this franchise has me hooked since I first touched MHFU in high school and to this day there is new things I learn constantly, even with older games. Truly a masterpiece of a game series!
@@hanvelsing Totally hear that. Deep down, I will always prefer hitting things solo and I always like polishing something off on my own first before repeating the quest with others. It took me a long time before I started jumping into multiplayer hunts in genult but it's a blast now and I really have an appreciation for it plus it adds to the community involvement side of things when it comes to streaming so that's a plus!
I haven't actually started Rise yet haha I've still too into genult but I'll begin it soon enough and be streaming that too! Ok, I see you in Twitter now so I'll take this chat there! Thanks again my friend!
