    Hi Jason n Jen,
I agree with you 100% my friend.
We had the same problem a few years
back, a man insisted on my husband
to not use his chain saw on certain days
and times ON OUR Property! cause he
Was hunting next to our land, (out of season 😳).
    Well my hub
hunts also on our land and needed to clear
trees, bush and feeders to help him to get
to point A from point B before hunting season
started. My hub was sooooo mad. But he
    continued doing his clearing! Lol
    Carry on Jason!
The garage is really looking so good, you’ve
worked so hard on this and deserved a day off
    doing nothing! Good for you!
Stay safe, happy and God Bless ❤

      Hi Pam!
Thanks for the comment. We haven’t had anyone tell us to be quiet during hunting season but we were curious as to others etiquette. Sounds like that guy your husband dealt with was a real winner!! Jason is so happy with the way the garage is coming along!! Can’t wait for it to be done!! Have a wonderful day and God bless!♥️🙏♥️

your right. i have posted my property. i dont trust the direction that bullet is headed. lets face it, some hunters cant tell a dog from a deer. weve all read the stories. stay safe.

Our property is posted and the hunters are on a neighbors land but they can hear the dogs and us working. We do have a lot less hunters down here since we moved here permanently in 2021. I always keep a closer eye on the dogs when we know they are out there!! Thanks!😊

Building is really going to be nice. I have a small farm and two guys drove up my driveway and wanted to hunt on my property. I said no and they argued with me. I finally said what part of no do you not understand - the n or the o? They finally left and I call the sheriff and gave him the license plate number and he went and talked to them! Then next month I install a gate across my driveway and put up no hunting and no trespassing signs. Some people have a lot of nerve.

Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry to hear about those hunters! Most hu years we’ve met here are very respectful and good folks. Our hunter here is doing everything right and we have nothing but respect for him. It was a great scenario to get others opinions on since we knew he hadn’t been successful this year. As for the building, I can’t wait till it’s done! Lol thank you for the comment and support! 😊

I agree with you 100%. That is your land. You worked hard for it and it’s not your responsibility to make changes for a hunter. That’s why you moved there and set roots. Coming from a New Mainer…who purchased land here for the same reason!

Thanks for your comment and support!! We were looking to see what hunting etiquette was and from what we have seen in the comments we were right. The hunters have dropped drastically in the area since we moved to our property in 2021 but there are still a few that make the attempt. Our dogs tend to keep the animals and the hunters at bay!😉

No need to worry about any noise you would normally make or any activities on your land. Ive had hunters in the field with a tractor that i was deer hunting over with a bow and deer would just stand out there and watch him plow not 50yrds from them. Your noise/animals/building/whatever on your property wont affect them negatively and if anything it may make it better as animals will ease around your area versus through it. Garage is coming together nicely!

I allow certain people to hunt my land but they know where to park so that I know that they are out there. And they check with me each time because I may out there hunting myself or family members. I also just carry on with my regular activities when they are out there. I figure the animals are accustomed to the sound of my chainsaw, wood mill , or tractor running.

  • @HensOnly

No, you do not have to cater to the hunters. Bears already know you are there and the noises you make over the months, they are used to it and avoid you if they feel there is a threat to them. The dogs barking is enough to keep them keep their distance. Same for deer, time after time, they get used to the sounds of hammering, sawing, dogs barking, animal noises. Your lapping work, it's beautiful and well done! Can't wait for you to get the job done and all your toys have a nice dry place to be under!

As someone who has hunted all his life, taught hunters education and bow safety - it is not your responsibility to work around hunters. They know this. Sure you could be quiet and or whatever but it is not expected. Live your life.

It’s nice to hear this from a hunter…Ya know, our hunter is a really nice guy, very respectful and all around good guy. In years past he’s gotten his limit pretty early and seeing him come in everyday without getting one made me think if maybe we were the reason. Like you said though, it’s not our responsibility to be “quiet” but I can’t help but empathize with him. Thank you for the comment and support 😊

    • @BuddyCarchide
      @BuddyCarchide 3 місяці тому +1

@@HanbleceyaRanch I completely understand. But know this, your noise wouldn't scare away a bear that is used to the noise. It would probably be aware if you were being quiet. You might actually be doing the hunter a favor by going about your business. On that, I appreciate your thoughtfulness. It's not always given to hunters. You are appreciated.

    • @HanbleceyaRanch
      @HanbleceyaRanch  3 місяці тому

Guessing that’s not your land or you could prevent hunters. If you choose to. But as a hunter myself here’s my outlook. Carry on with your life. Wildlife will get used to your presence and the noises that accompany the homestead. So your daily or random noises and commotions aren’t going to affect the animals. Therefore it shouldn’t affect his ability to harvest whatever the game is that he’s going after. Anyway great job on the garage ! Coming along great ! Take care Jason and Jen

You do not have to stop living for these hunters. But you also do not want enemies. It's tough, but I would just go about my day and not worry about them.
Also, why do they want to kill bears, I don't get these people.

Hi Suzanne 👋 The hunter by us is very respectful and an all around good guy. As for why folks hunt bear, I’m sure everyone has their reasons. We plan to start hunting in a year or so and the reason we want to hunt bear will be for our dogs. We plan to integrate bear meat into their diet to reduce the cost of kibbles. Our long term goal is to be self sufficient and one of the ways we’ll get there is by hunting. We appreciate your comment and your continued support!! 😊

    Hey bud,
    The garage is looking nice.
So...on the hunting thing....I'm a hunter. Hunters don't rule the world, although some think that they do. You live there and you don't have to stop working on your projects, holding up progress and doing what you're doing because somebody else decided to try hunting nearby. It's like buying a house next to an airport and then complaining about the noise right?
Not saying that the guy hunting the hill near you is a ding dong or anything, but he decided to try it knowing that you are there.

    • @HanbleceyaRanch

Thank you for the kind words. The hunter is a really nice guy, respectful. As I saw him pull up it got me thinking what others thought about it, I’m glad I asked! Based on the comments it sounds like most hunters are good people though there are always “that guy”.
We appreciate your comment and your support! 😊

      @@HanbleceyaRanch Yessah bub!
Most hunters you run across will be like that guy, decent, respectful and try not to impose or intrude. Yeah, there's always "that guy" though. Some think that they can do whatever they want to get the deer they want and that means shooting from their truck, on the road, on to posted property toward a house!!! It happens every year here.
We have some bozos that like to heater hunt this road which is residential the entire length and and there is not one place to drop a deer that's not in somebody's yard, but they don't let that stop them.

I think that the bears in the area are used to the noise of local homestead. I have had bears walk up on me while making "noise". With that said, if the hunter is paying you to use your land to hunt, then you should be respectful of his hunt. My 2 cents. Thank you!

I think the hunters are in wrong. Way too close to people/dogs/home. Bullets could easily go astray. They need to find a new spot since this is your home now. I say make as much noise as possible to ruin their hunts. Eventually they will give up and move on. Isn’t it Maine law not to shoot within 200-300 yards of homes? (No clue how far away you are from them). Common sense is that you don’t shoot toward where folks are living. Geez. Garage is coming along. Cool.

We have a lot less hunters trying out here (not on our property) then when we moved here. Have a great day!! 👍
