Hi folks, Jason & Jennifer here! Welcome to Hanbleceya Ranch - an Off-Grid Maine Homestead.
We're just a couple of folks who made a decision in 2010 to off-grid homestead. We spent all of those years raising a family and preparing ourselves to make this wild dream a reality and it paid off!!!
We purchased our ~60 acres in Eastern Maine in 2019 and moved permanently in June 2021. We've been working very hard pursuing our homestead dream.... Come join us on our journey by clicking the subscribe button!!!

Glad y’all are doing good! Yall have a Merry Christmas
Glad you guys are on the mend and feeling better!
get well soon
Hope you both are feeling better soon!
Please stay healthy both you and Jen
Thank you. We are trying!!😊
Jason you had a Man Cold. Poor thing. An ear infection is a pain in the bum. Going to those craft shows exposes you to all those germs. Hope you two are getting enough rest. Be well soon.😊🧶❤️
Hope you guys get to feeling better soon
Thank you! We are doing better! 😊
Love you guys, glad to hear that you are taking care of yourselves remember to always add garlic to your soup, and keep drinking your hot tea! Feel Better , bye.🙏❤️🙂
always nice to see another ME homesteader... we're downeast too
Well hi there 👋 We’re up in the County 😊
2” of rain weighs how Mush per Square Foot!
🤣🤪
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we get some big snowstorms coming our way…
@@AmericaBound Certainly not being the bearer of bad news… we’re aware and have lived it 😉 Now if we can just get over this dang cold
You both get better soon
Thank you! 😊
Get well soon!
Thank You! 😊
Bet you got exposed to something at the craft fair! Hope you bounce back soon.
That’s very possible in my case, but Jen has been fighting that ear infection for weeks…though it does seem to have finally broke so all is looking well 😊
The new culvert is working great!
It sure is!! 😊
You'll have to bake her a cookie and make her a star 😁Same happened to me here in New Brunswick with a bunch of shovelling to get rid of snow on the driveway so it wouldn't turn into a skating rink, lol, only to have the entire 2 1/2 feet of snow I did have completely melt away. Feel better soon and great job on the colvert 👍
Isn’t that the worst!! We do all of this prep work then 24 hrs later, it’s a moot point 🤪 Jen has been an all star this week, super human!!! Thank you for the kind words! 😊
How did the craft fairs go. Take care of yourselves.
Despite more vendors and a lot more foot traffic, there weren’t many sales across many of the venders, including us. It’s ok though, was a fun day out and mingle and get sick 🤣 We’re getting better thank you! 😊
culvert looked great, that water is flowing great. and i'm with you on getting snow off a roof, ya never know what maine weather mama is gonna give us. heal well you two. 3 more months left of this crap, and april, ya never know about. lol.
Was so happy to see the culvert moving that water like a boss. Not a drop of water where it wasn’t supposed to be 👍 We’re feeling better and stronger every day. 😊
Sorry don’t know why that printed twice!! Anyway God bless you Jen for keeping up the great fight!!❤️
Thank you! 😊
Good to see you up and around!! I hope you have someone near just Incase you both are down for the count!! Both sick at the same time isn’t fun!! One time my late husband and I got one of those bad ass flues, and at the time we both worked together at a cafeteria. We were so sick that some of the people came and brought us food from work. We could not do a thing so just in case get somebody lined up in case anything bad happens and you can’t get help have somebody available it’s very important. I’m glad you’re doing bettertill the next one.

Thank you for sharing that story, I can only imagine how awful it must’ve been…but thank goodness was for good friends 😊 Thankfully we’re on the mend and doing better but you bring up a good point, one well remember if need be. Thank you! 😊
Happy to hear you’re both on the mend. Hoping the sunshine will help! Take care and rest up…
Was such a beautiful day today! Thank you for the kind words! 😊
Lots of Vick's Vapor Rub and a nice, neat Hot Toddie...Feel better and we' look forward to Springtime...Cheers from South Maine🌅
Everyones ill right now. Please take good care of yourselves & feel better. God bless❤
It’s certainly the season for it, it’s always a bummer when it happens though. Thank you for the kind words! 😊
@HanbleceyaRanch fun fact...decided to try to improve my health by working out a little last week, hurt my back & been in excruciating pain ever since😆good times, for sure. Merry Christmas
Dang, l hope you feel well soon. Being ill is the biggest time loss there is. I was wondering what the R value of your insulation around the cabin is. No melt on your roof, so not much heat loss. Tell Jen to get better soon, same for you Jason.
We’re on the mend for sure, thank you! I believe we went with R-19 in the walls and ceilings. We stay nice and warm in the cabin 😊
A star and a cookie? Nope. Jen deserves Tiffany's and a trip to Hawaii, lol. I'm praying for you both, and I'm happy to see you are recovering.
Same thing 🤷♂️😂🤣 Thank you 😊
Glad to see you back and feeling better love watching you’re videos
Thank you Steve! 😊
Was expecting a big muddy mess. I 'm wrong.
It was definitely muddy for 24 hrs then the temps dropped and everything froze up again!! 🥶
Looks like you might have, what my grandpa who lived in Bangor called, a brown Christmas 🎄
It looks like you are right. Don’t see any snow in the forecast but then again that can change in an hour!🙄
did you guys go off the ranch lately? that seems to be what happens a lot exposed to lots that usually not when ya stay home ive found plus at my age ya dont bounce back as fast
We had the two craft fairs and Jason does work a few hours daily. As we have gotten older we too have noticed not being able to bounce back as well as we use to!! 😔
Thumbs up to you and Jen
Thank you!!👍
Feel better soon.
Thank you!😊
When you go to sales party , other people are their sick and you get their sickness
Exactly!! 😔
Rest and take care of yourselves. Winter is a marathon not a sprint.
Thank you!😊
Get well Soon ! Cranking Down on 10k Subs
Thanks! We are getting close!! That will be a huge milestone for us!! 😊
I live in Maine and I enjoy the weather here even the winter time is long as I'm not outside too long Great people and such a pretty state
@@justinbeard2024 We couldn’t agree more, on both the weather and the people. We are very grateful our path led us here. Thank you for the support! 😊
I live in star city, the county Maine. We have brown grass today
We were up your way today. Grass was green the other day here. Now it’s frozen!
Even easier, move back to where ever you came from.
@@natehastings5776 Nah 😎
With 60 acres, how often to you go to other parts of the homestead? Do you have trespassers and how do you deal with that?
Not often as most of the property is inaccessible except by foot. That said we’ve started our trail system. We do not have trespassers mainly because we are at the end of an unmaintained road on the Canadian border. We have zero traffic by us which was one of these reasons this property was desirable to us.
Best winter tips for Maine. Head to the tropics in November then head back when the spring flowers come up aloha from the North Shore of Hawaii been here two weeks all is well. My home in Windsor is tidy and winterized.
That may be a thought as we get older! 😉
I just read the regulations to installing a wood stove in Philadelphia. They make sense considering we have the smallest pots in the country.
I can’t say I’m familiar with Philadelphia’s regulations regarding wood stoves but it sounds like you’re on the right track. 👍
I live in Maine. It just snowed and we didn't shovel anything because it just rains and melts within days... Boo.
Ours typically hangs around but this last storm took it all away!!
Sooooo.... NOT an outdoor kitchen. 🤣 Perhaps call it a detached kitchen?
Well…it is outside of the cabin. 🤷♀️😊
