I have a harber freight air comp... did some research... it might pay off to run it for an hour then change the oil... could be crud in oil pan that could mess it up.... better sage than sorry.... good luck
Make sure you have enough ventilation so that the Carbon Monoxide sensor doesn’t shut the generator off… I just bought the 8750 inverter from Harbor Freight and love it!!
@@rodneygetchell That’s a great point that I should’ve covered. The back of the shed has an opening for the exhaust and the front door is vented. Thanks for the support! 😊
Good morning -2* on the mid coast of Maine Love harbor freight to ! 🙂 I have a 3500 predator great little generator, also run 2 Honda generators 2200 inverter and a older 4500 which has 110 / 220 volts so I can run my well pump cause I am 400' down running a 3/4 hp pump ! Great channel ! Love your videos ! Thanks for sharing your time with us ! Be safe and GOD BLESS YOU & FAMILY !! BIG D
Hi 👋 -10 here this morning, was a cold night for sure. Got BIG snow coming this weekend, not sure if it’s that south but we’re looking at almost 2’ on Sunday. I’ve replaced all of our older generators with inverter/generators because of their quietness and fuel consumption. I can see how you’d need a larger one for your well pump. Our well is 220’ but our pump is only down 100’, we use a low wattage solar pump that works great. Thank you for the kind words and support! 😊
Momma says it's time for automatic!
YUP!
I have a champion 4500w inverter generator with remote start at our offgrid cabin. I love the remote start. How many hours on yours? At 99hrs money wouldnt start due to needing a valve adjustment.
We’re at ~750hrs on it. Haven’t had any issues with it other than twice being late on the oil changes 🤦♂️
I wish I'd watched this two weeks ago before creating a huge wobbly pyramid.😂
You’re welcome! 😉
I bought a 5kw first, after you run it down to 80% or 4kw now you only have 80A for charge, my 9kw running at 6200w I get 60hrz steady 125A charge, in order for me to get a full Gen charge I need a 15kw running at 12000w 10kw charge 2kw home load. Any gen at the right draw will get 60hrz, but turn off surge loads while charging, don't forget that visible note that says "FRIDGE!!!". Running the gen off a big LPG tank is luxury, no gas cans, fill delivery, clean motor and mine was just fine at -27F, under 120gal you might get cold problems. Next door has a champion 4500 but there 12v system only charges at 300w I am surprised how many days that gen runs on 1 tank, at 6200w my 9kw burns a gal per hour or 1% of my 123gal, not too bad when you only run it 80mins on a dark day. Oversize your gen, lasts longer and more options for power. BEWARE Amazon LPG 10' ft hose with no gauge, that super cheap one, leaks like an open valve lost 4gal in 1-hour, dummy gauge one so far is fine.
Thank you for sharing! I’ll spend a bit more time looking into the propane side as opposed to fuel. Sounds like it’ll pay off in the end. Thanks! 😊
i have the 3500 predator one. i change the oil often. really like the electric start. im gettin too old to keep pulling.
Pulling is getting harder the older I get. The push button will certainly come in handy 😊
Did I miss the part where he explains why ?
thumbs up
😊
What's the science?
Were you affected by the earth quake? I hope you guys are well! Rest easy to night.🙏❤️🙂
We did not feel it here!! Thank you!!♥️😊♥️
Mardens had dewalts other day i saw
@@jamesmerrill6111 We looked at them, they have regular generators. We wanted an inverter/generator.
Big fan of champion ! Have one that’ll run the whole show with electric start and a smaller 2500 that’s the equivalent of a Honda but with a. Little more juice and super quiet and one hand carry. Great and informative video as always. Take care
Our Champion has been great and I’m happy we’re moving it to the shop. Sounds like you’ve got a good spread of generators 😊
My only comment is why won’t you consider propane? If you had 500 to 1000 gallon tank of propane you would certainly have ample fuel on hand. Propane never spoils, never causes carburetor or fuel injection issues, much cleaner fuel for small engines. Far less carbon issues. I have two inverters running on propane. I never once thought about going back to gasoline. Even though both inverters can use it. Do you use non ethanol (recreational gasoline) fuel? 87 octane gasoline causes a lot headaches for small engines. Thank you,
I suppose I never really looked into it much. Maybe I should dig a little deeper into it. Thanks! 😊
I like harbor freight and their warranties are as you say!!!!!
The warranty is great. One of the many reasons I keep buying from them 😊
Make sure you keep up with that oil Jason....😉
Gotta keep on top of that! 😊
Good to hear from you always nice to have more than one
Thanks, we agree! It's good to have back-ups! 😊
Ive been buying stuff from harbor freight for 30+ years and still have many of those tools in good working order. One of which is a 4"grinder that is finnaly on its last legs but was bought in 1997 during my stint in the USMC at Cherry point. Ive put THOUSANDS of disks through that thing and the bearing is just now giving up. Well worth the money. We use predator gens on every hunting/fishing trip and ill use one to charge my solar as you do as soon as we move up! As for the workshop filling up, Im not sure a shop has ever been built thats "big enough" 🤣
They really are great generators!! You are so right about the shop space, I’m running out of room! 😂
Greetings from Wisconsin. Good to see you
Hello there from Maine! 👋
Like Andy says from Andy's Little Homestead... "if you're going to buy Chinese, you might as well pay Chinese prices." But I absolutely LOVE Harbor Freight!!!
Ha! He’s hilarious!😂
@HanbleceyaRanch AGREED!!!
Nice new generator. I have a Pulsar GD400BN 4000/3200. I plan to use it to top off my lithium batteries.
That’ll work for sure 👍
You have a predator, You be a beat nick, or a hippie
😂🤣
You are a life saver
@@tiphaniebrows2052 glad it helped!
thumbs up
😊
Thats such a classic story. Moving from a big city to the backwoods. I love Chicago. It has its problems, but what a beautiful city.
Being born and raised in Chicago, it’ll always have a special place with us, but it’ll always be in the rear view mirror. Thank you for the support! 😊
I watched Carrie at Woman Off Grid with Dog (who also lives in Maine) she has her generator up on a little table so the oil can be changed without kneeling, moving. Was a good idea I thought, when I get set up that is my plan. Good to see you pushing on in the cold!
@@JimTexas806 That’s a brilliant idea, one that I have been mulling for our own genny shed. We’ve got plans to update it this summer. 😊
In your opinion ( maybe ) it depends on several different things pallets covered firewood shed & end supports or shed dividers .
@@drAgonflysix2 Yep 👍
WOW, I was thinking about this exact project! Amazing. Searched on UA-cam and my dream was there with tips for fabricating and use. Thank you. Just received 8" of snow. My brother has a pick up and plow but borrowing and return is a pain. Storms have not been often due to global warming. This summer / fall project is going to be similar. I was thinking, hinged at the point, spreaders removable, bent pipe with socket on each side with hitch pin. Will check out your build video. Thank you for plowing my path!
I’m glad to hear we inspired you! Best of luck on your build! 😊
"Perfect" is a subjective opinion.
Yes it is
It’s a lot cheaper to maintain than it is to replace!
Agreed!!👍
Stay as warm as possible!
Thank you!😊
Great job Jason, alot of people just run things into the ground and don't care. When you're in a situation like you are relying on it as a necessity, maintenance is key with keeping up and having it when you need it
We know people like that and we cannot afford to do that!! Maintenance is the key!👍
Hi there, we got 7 inches of snow last night down here in Turner Maine. I took the yard stick outside and before I shoveled I measured it. Old Granny I am yes I'm out here shoveling back porch and little bit of back yard to get the dogs out to pee keeps me out and doing something besides cooking and cleaning, stay warm
Be careful out there! Stay warm and safe!♥️
So true. Too many people don't do maintenance then complain that the equipment isn't very good. I've had my Champion for at least 10 years but only have run it maybe 75 hours in that time.
We completely agree!! 👍
Stay warm have a great day
Thank you! You too!!😊
Allan’s like a spider monkey up on the roof. You’re lucky to have good help like him. Plus his knowledge. Looks great. Bet your liking this winter
He sure is! I’m very grateful he was able to come help us. 😊
been watching your vids for 3 weeks started at the start and working my way to the present. Just notice you went from 11.6k to 11.7k. Congratulations…
Thank you for the support! We appreciate it 😊
You have come a long long way with your carpentry skills. Nice looking greenhouse. Should last for many moons.
Thank you for the kind words! 😊
Cross hip gable between the two roofs
I’m not sure what you mean
Maintain the roof line and join into the perpendicular building making a gable joint
I live in Maine and have lived in new England all my life. We are in snow pattern right now.
Yep, we’re getting things ready cause we typically see the heavy wet snow from here on out.
Southern California here, I know I couldn’t handle a whole season of what you deal with but lord almighty if you have a fireplace, I’d trade you for a month! Y’all are grounded to the earth by frozen water. We’re dry as bones out here.
Hello there SoCal 👋 would love to send you some snow! ⛄️
Not that deep to me I just leave it in a pile outside for a yr that seasons it
Get a wood stove that burns overnight, 4k $ expensive but worth it.
That would be nice but financially not possible. 😊
Yep it's how I was taught
👍
Thanks, this was very helpful! We burned wood 25 years ago. Just brought a cabin and going back to wood from coal.
Glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching. 😊
