I don't have polls unlocked so I'm doing it via pinned comment, but I'm curious to know what kind of guides do you guys want to see for Forever Winter?
There are several Euruska quests in Mech Trenches (unplugged, sabatage mechs, hack servers) that require you to go to specific spots and do different actions. If you could do a video on getting to those locations, it could likely help alot of people. Just make sure you name-drop the quest in the title. Cheers!
@@bigbobrossa8524 These were just back to back runs, idk how to prove it though lol. I've never run into too much trouble on any of these paths aside from scrapyard nexus which gets sketchy every now and then
the easy quests respawn like “investigate, recon, risky cargo, momento pt1” they can all be done in under 5 minutes, in 1 hour you could have at least 10 - 15 water
I just wanted to add another run which helped me starting out. It's basically guaranteed water and medical supplies, takes under 5 min, and doesn't require any combat. If you are struggling, you can do this run with only the stock gear and no ammo/meds. Start in Mech Trenches - Elevator Spawn > Sprint straight forward until you see a door at the top of some stairs > Enter the door (Any enemies alerted by the door opening will not follow you in) and walk down the hall until you come to a large open room: the med-bay. Stop at the top of the stairs leading down into the med-bay. > There will usually be a group of Europan soldiers patrolling in a loop from left to right (they go down another set of stairs on the left, then come back up and walk straight across the room, and then turn and repeat) > Wait in the hall until the squad goes left and below > Sneak down into the room and rightwards (towards the extraction icon up top), while hoovering up all the supplies and water you find along the way. > Listen for the squad returning from downstairs and hide off to the side if necessary. (Once you know the route, you can usually search the rooms before they come back.) > Keep heading towards the extraction and you'll come to the last room, which descends down to a hallway heading straight to the extraction. There is a gap halfway across the hallway which leads outside, but you can usually just sprint straight across without any enemies catching you. The end. Good luck. Oh, also...I just found out that you can increase your faction rating by selling stuff to the relevant vendor. So, the more stuff you sell to Grillo, the higher your Europan faction rating becomes. I figured it was worth mentioning because it's way, way easier and faster to raise your trust level by selling stuff than by doing the quests.
Ashen Mesa always has water near the streets entrance. Take the catwalk out to the building across the way from spawn and around the outer perimeter. There’s always explosives, water, ammo, large lockboxes, medical cabinet (sometimes) and general loot. After that it’s a short trek to the timed extract in 4 min
@@yewnitedgaming it’s the easiest one. If you’re running low on ammo then just activate and head up the bank on the left side (looking back towards the map from extract) to hide in the shadows until countdown.
Thanks man, I extracted like 10-15 times from a variety of maps without being able to find water. I was only able to find the mech corridor water point after watching a video. This is gonna make the game a lot less frustrating to play!
Nice! You'll find more and more spots as you continue to play; the loot aspect of the game (water included) boils down to just learning more and more about the game
Why bother picking water up? You get water as a reward on missions and the open slot can be used for more valuable items. A couple hours playing and water should not even be on your radar of things needed.
the real farm is to infinitely run the tutorial, takes 2 minutes and awards 1 water because it gives you a quest to turn in after returning to the innards. No limit on how often you can run it. Also free xp farm for 5.45 weapons because theres an ammo crate with ammo for it and infinite enemy spawns.
@@yewnitedgaming Its so boring though its probably the best xp/water farm in the game. If you prioritize water, you can max out your storage in less than an hour. If you go for weapon/character xp its slower but infinite cyborg zombie spawns down a hallway can bring a gun to level 20 in like 15 minutes.
@@logical5659 I'd agree with saying it's at least a solid early water farm (I wonder if this counts for your 2nd quest...?) and a decent 'free resources' exp farm. But I can confidently say that there's much better exp farms, which I'm looking into currently. The money farm video I'm working on has a portion that doubles as a great exp farm, and I got a gun to lv20 in about 10 minutes. And that was with friends taking a lot of the exp too.
quickest strategy I found was ashen nexus, chance to spawn at least 3 water barrels in the city location, just Bline it into the opening of the old shacks you spawn next to, go up the stairwell grab the water, then pretty much just run straight down the cat walk across the open field unbothered and just pretty much walk right to the immediate extract location on the other end of the bridge, takes less than 2 minutes and it's guaranteed at minimal 1 water jug which is more than enough to collect for a beginning run solo player, repeat that run a handful of times and you'll have plenty of water for days, and if you're busy and can't really play games too often like me you can farm that for like 10 minutes and get more than enough to hold you over until you have time to really sit down and enjoy the game.
I have to make it a point to explore ashen mesa one day, it's one of the few maps I've barely played. Kudos for the tip, 3 water hassle free is pretty huge
@@yewnitedgaming I started today having like 6 water, within a short time I'm at like 16 water now just doing the run on repeat, gotta make sure I have enough to last until I can play again the next weekend cuz it's my only free time. having a route like that guaranteed has made the whole real time depletion less anxiety inducing, still not a fan but at least it's manageable now solo until my other friends can hop on over the weekend, then we'll be well off ez lmao
i am admittedly super intrigued by the water mechanic. it might turn out to be a bad idea in the long run, but for now, i see it as a sign the devs are willing to break with "best practices" when trying to make the game fit their vision rather than the market, which is imo super cool
Yeah it's definitely a 'kudos for doing what you guys want to do' to the devs, but it's also a terrible mechanic for the game's long-run. Imagine when they eventually hit full release and all these old players come back to a wiped account because they haven't played for months or even years; I can't imagine it'd have a good response, despite it probably being better to have started anew
@@yewnitedgaming the accounts don’t get wiped though. Unlocks like characters and skins stays you just loose equipment and vendor access, which you can regain
Best luck to your channel. I like your style. I hope you do a lot of content. Several missions have no clue on where to go. Also y’all complain about the water issue too much. It takes like an hour to get over a weeks worth of water
Appreciate the compliment, I do plan to continue to make more Forever Winter content as the game develops since I really do enjoy it. And yea this video is 50% "where to find water" and 50% "stop complaining about it, it's *this* simple" lol
Fair warning, the elevator spawn point in mech trenches is locked early game now. You need to have a certain groups reputation to a certain level to unlock it.
love your video. BUT you made the mech trench run slower and more complicated than necessary. instead of running left, run straight into the med bay room (with the three water in your video) then the cargo room, then back to the medbay, left a,d through a tunnel directly to exit. thats at least 3 water and 2 exploves as well as at least one large lockbox every run if you do thief at night at mech trench and risky cargo you get insane levels of water, 25 - 75k credits plus lockboxes and explosives to sell every time you do the thief quest. and its the same route every time. is it boring ? yes. does it work: extremely well
Water is an issue no matter what because not everyone plays every day. And you dont just lose stuff at 0 days of water. Your progression is directly tied to how many days of water you have. Have 19 days of water? Doesnt matter you have water left youve now lost access to these mechanics and upgrades you paid for that say they need 20-30 days. Ive got too much shit to do to worry about absolutely having to play every few days
It really isn't that bad.. Unless you can only play for an hour every other week you won't run into water issues, even if you're only using starter gear. As you play you're constantly gaining water even if you're not directly looting it so the only issue that would arise is when you eventually take a break from the game for 3+ months
I don't think they want us sharing water... when my friend started the other day and we tried dropping him a water for his second mission, and it immediately spawned hunter killers to chase us lol.
That's kinda crazy since there's water spawns lying around everywhere. Was there no water in the bunker on your bagman runs? That's spawned every time I've gone to scorched
It drains 24/7, when online and offline. They changed the mechanic for when you run out of water at least, so you have 1 final fight to 'save' your hideout, instead of the game just wiping your inventory when your water hits 0
Water is a non issue. You get water for every mission completed. After a few hours of playing, I stopped picking water up as it's a waste of a valuable open slot.
Same here, I haven't looted water since I hit like 7 days of water stored. I honestly hope they rework it to be more of a mechanic than a number you ignore after about 2 hours of playtime
Obviously I fall into the category of your not that guy. Besides the terrible frame rate after lowering quality settings I failed miserable in the first quest getting on scorched earth getting completely overrun by the different factions or the mutant cyborgs would sneak up behind me. Got frustrated and refunded the game. You make it look so easy. I want to come back to it maybe try out the Demo when its released.
Once you figure out how the AI work in the game it gets a lot easier to avoid them. Don't feel super pressured to come back though as the game is admittedly very janky right now. I'd say give it some months and give it another go.
Instead of actively going out to look for and loot water, you instead get it passively while doing the various faction quests. I.E. It lets you actually play the game instead of constantly hounding down water.
