1. That's not Magni but an Earthen. The Earthen are the the Titan's servants from who the dwarves evolved from. They perform their tasks almost robot-like and do not stray from their purpose. Their storyline in the new expansion is about how they no longer see the purpose of the tasks that they have been performing for 10k+ years and now they have to decide to either hold on or step away. 2. That woman is Faerin Lothar. She is part of a group called the Arathi. Before the new expansion, we only knew the Arathi as the first human nation that all of humanity sprang from and which is extinct. Here, we learn that they sailed beyond the borders of the known world and founded an empire there. And the specific group we see ingame has by mysterious circumstances stranded underground when they were on their way to a holy war. 3. That woman is a new race called the Harronir. There is not much known about them but they seemingly tend to the roots that grow in that location. There is speculation that the roots are what remain of a colossal world-tree that one of the titans grew and another of her group ripped out again. It is also speculated that they are the missing link in the evolution of the Trolls to the Night Elves.
All 3 characters are new Characters, The dancer is a druidic type there is no lore for the dance at least yet, The dwarf like character is a new allied race the Earthen and he is working a forge you will see in one of the early zones of the xpack,
@@karley3679 Not a druid myself and I don't think they have anything like that at this time for druid players but who knows they might add more hero talent paths for the classes down the road.
With todays reset (yesterday for the US) and new quest, we had quite the nice catch up cinematic/cutscene, that I really think that new players will be happy about. It pretty much tells what happened from Battle for Azeroth, to Shadowlands and in dragonflight, a little speedy but still great. Having watched all your vids from when you started, as well as other people not knowing wow reacting to the cinematics, I wish we would have had something like this years ago. I searched though youtube to see if it was uploaded, but no luck. I don't even know what it's called. Perhaps some of your loremasters on the discord knows. I'd love for you to check it out and hear what you think about it, as a new wow player.
I love the small attention to detail in the Faerin (warrior) shot of them putting on the breastplate, you can see her ears being moved as it's pulled down. And the music in this was spectacular, I got goosebumps when the Harronir (troll like race) screamed at the start of her dance.
The video is set up like a trinity in different ways. Industry/strength/power Nature/spirituality/speed Rituals/experience/focus Putting on the armour scene reminds me of the King Theoden scene in LoTR.
This is very late, but I think you would enjoy playing through/watching the Caverns of Time Culling of Stratholme dungeon. It recreates the Warcraft 3 sequence where Arthas purges Stratholme. You really get to see the downfall of a hero there.
The Troll-ish figure with her dance is unknown. I wont say much as I've played Alpha/Beta and do know who/what she is but her kind have yet to be introduced. I will say that on WoWhead, her race's models are available and they have a WEIRD amount of customizations. Hoping for a playable race potentially! She is giving off a lot of Na'vi energy from Avatar and I freakin love those films. I can't wait to get to know them further as the expansion goes on.
Yes! I want them to be playable - a much cooler troll-kind! Also 'the Arathi soldier' race I think they planned to do that at some point too. She looks awesome.
I'm really excited for this upcoming saga. Dragonflight has been great all 'round but it felt a bit too "Disney", very much focused on 'power of friendship/family' but this cinematic really makes me think we're back to the OG storytelling of WoW. Which had a lot more mature themes in general. Which makes sense, considering Chris Metzen is back!
The Dwarf one is the least interesting to me. I wish they didn't already show some of this footage before. The one-armed woman is Faerin Lothar and we'll hang out in one of the zones. We meet the Harronir (I speculate a progenitor to Trolls and Elves) character, but I believe she'll not be super relevant till later in the expansion. I know nothing of this Earthen Dwarf yet. While it's good they are giving some insight into these characters, unlike we got for the Shadowlands ones, I'm looking forward to seeing the next cinematic even more. I hear there's a release one yet to come.
The human character is a new character named Faerin Lothar, she is allegedly the daughter of Anduin Lothar who is the namesake for Anduin that Varian decided to give him, and she will also be having new story and interactions with Anduin in The War Within.
She is not the alleged daughter of Anduin Lothar. She's a distant relative of him -- Among the Arathi that broke off and sailed across the storming seas few millennia from the present. Among them were other Lothar's.
Also the new race (thats not earthen, forgot their name) reminds me A LOT of the Night Elf introduction in the Vanilla trailer; just the opening shot of how they're crawling out
I need to see more of the harronir woman or just the race in general. Like a whole fucking movie from war craft, i havent really watch any if the releases over the years but i saw a screen shot of her and ive never wanted to the play the game more to find out more.
Animated would be top tier. They tried to do a live action. It would have blew up, but there's this stupid stigma within WoW that kinda hurt the movie ratings in the states bad. Everywhere else, it sold out..... Hopefully us Americans can stop being so stiff....
I remember years and years ago how my friends thought Warcraft had the coolest cutscenes, but it didn't really feel like my kind of game. Only now that I'm more into lore and storyline in games I might start to develop an interest in playing it - not sure.

The oldest race on Azeroth were the trolls. The Night Elves evolved from Trolls after the Well of Eternity shattered. She is in between what a troll and a Night Elf would be before complete evolution. As Night Elves commune with nature she is interacting with the Roots of the World. They are in the depths of the world for this expansion and she is interacting with the roots within the world. The Dwarf isn't Magni but a new allied race the Earthen. Magni did a ritual which made him become more Earthen-like.

for all you wonder that one arm warrior it not a Paladin in a tanking build lancer that what iam going to put my money on they had that kind of play in another mmo TERA online for there tank if any of you remember so i think blizzard might use that kind of idea not sure how she lost her arm maybe they have back story to it the the half ling female troll not druid more like witch doctor cause they do stuff like that would make more scene then the same class we all ready have in the game
I believe only the one-armed character is a named character. The Earthen Dwarf and the Night Elf / Troll are two new races being introduced in the expansion.
The Harronir (the night elf / troll) has been named as Orweyna in-game. She's the most notable one who helps us while the rest of her race would rather hide. The Earthen is probably the only unnamed, generic character in there. Even the Nerubian towards the end is most likely meant to be Queen Ansurek
the Void is seeking Azeroth's Worldsoul, and underground there is a War being waged, between the Nerubians and the Arathi Half-elven. the Worldsoul Saga is a war between us and the Void, as we take the offensive, instead of defensive as we had since Vanilla when C'thun emerged in the ancient city of Ahn'qiraj.

@@petrescucezar3307 yes and these days you have to pay attention to more than the intro cinematic to know the narrative. hell even back in Mists of Pandaria you got the BASEST of contexts, as it just showed Alliance V Horde and Pandas, nothing about the Sha, the Mantid, the Mogu or Garrosh going bonkers. besides this is a trailer and not the main cinematic, the main cinematic was Anduin and Thrall having a chat until Azeroth got their attention.
I’m not going to go into any details since it would be a spoiler, but there’s also a very important event that is going to be happening in game to sort of set this story in motion, and it’s likely we won’t get the “actual” launch trailer that actually ties into the story until closer to the release. I’ll just say Xal is going to start things off with a bang.
We are still awaiting the opening cinematic... so hold on to your seat when it comes. These 3 characters are the NPC's that we will talk to, to quest in the zones. The big area in the end is the city of "Spider race" the Arathi, which is the 4th zone in the expansion. The spider was the Queen of the race, that we will face in the first raid, which will be first of it kind, as it'll be one of an elevation, rather than horizontal raid, moving down, up and down, in huge ways.
This one was quite a letdown for me. I'm beginning to think getting Metzen back and hyping up this saga was just a scam to get us to give them more money. I hope I'm wrong.
Well, Blizzard likes to do complete 180s in their approach to things. The feedback they got after Shadowlands was that it felt too disconnected, because we didn't know the Jailer. We didn't know any of these Covenant leaders. It's why they are focusing a whole lot on new characters that are going to be relevant, this time around. I hear this isn't the final cinematic though. Not the big opening one.
There is a generation change in the Blizzard. These games are already composed for a younger taste. Beyond that, I think this trailer told us far little and not coherent. It's a disappointment for me personally.
blizz always does a story trailer and a launch faction trailer, people just tend to forget the faction trailers because they have nothing in it aside from visuals
So you want trailer to spoil entire story for you? It showed you that there are new racec, places and potential storylines coming with them... What more do you want, entire expansion lore in 2 minutes?
@@ThomasKun Let's not exaggerate. Most of the cinematic trailers for WoW are coherent parts of the story. My main problem with this new trailer is that it's mainly fraction montage blocks, which I don't think have any cinematic qualities. It's a boring waste of time to manage the armor for 30 seconds for a hero pose.
There have been 5 or 6 expansion release cinematics that gave significant plot reveals in the introduction. Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, Warlords of Draenor, Legion, Shadowlands, and BFA showed bits of plot. Every other expansion was very generic. Vanilla, Burning Crusade, Mists of Pandaria, Dragon Flight, and War Within have been vague and introduced new races, classes, and game mechanics. So 5 vague introduction cinematics and 6 cinematics with plot insight. It seems like a very even split. They don't have a preferred way of doing this.

Xal'atath is a power behind the scenes. Classic old god approach. Whispers & manipulation. Puppet masters.

People were complaining about using old characters, so this is showing the new ones, but expect the old characters in the opening cinematic.
