Been watching a number of stream restoration videos lately. This, and I watched it twice to see what I may have missed, was by far the least informative. Bunch of talking heads going on about the wonderful things they've accomplished without ever really explaining they actually did.

      built pipes for irrigation

@@jawsua32 I agree, but that was only about 24 seconds of the video. I'd much rather have two and a half minutes of someone explaining HOW the project worked and only 24 seconds of people babbling. I'd love to know how piping improved irrigation AND restored streamflow. Sounds like a remarkable win-win result.

@@terryhobbs2038 Agreed, Terry. It seems that modern 'documentaries' producers have lost the ability to convey information. All that we see and hear are people prattling on, endless words of little real value, quick flashes of arty camera work, all overlaid with overly-loud background soundtracks. It's all 'sound and fury, a tale told by an idiot, signifying nothing'. There's so little substance, just superficial nonsense, all under the guise of that obscene made-up non-word 'info-tainment'.

This was a soundbite to interest people. You sit and watch videos and complain. Make your own video and pipe down.

So you went from open canal to pipes? That made that much difference? This video really could have explained the facts a lot better.

Never did understand why a relative handful of farmers could decide the fate of an ecosystem which would have benefit for millions of people.

decentralized application of permaculture principles will be a far more sustainable and self managing solution for both rivers

I think the creek should have more leaking rock dams to increase water levels that will bring in even more fish..

Certain insiders probably made tons of money buying up property that was soon to be riverfront.

These things are usually years in the making and require lots of public consultation. I doubt there were dirt cheap properties that instantly became super valuable.
