you know what would've been great? if this game was supposed to be before Outlast 1. I mean the timeline. When I was imagining possibilities of the ending before we got the game, I was thinking that the ending would be like the player waking up in a very old beat up ambulance. It gets to a stop at some point and the doctors open the doors to reveal the Murkoff Asylum. I feel like this would've been great - getting so messed up from these trials that you have no choice but to go get help and would you look at that, Murkoff has a perfect place for you!!! I just feel like the connection would've been amazing!

It’s kinda like what Monarch said but the ending confirms that you assassinate as a taxi cab driver in Cuba and if you don’t perchance know Fidel Castro was a big issue to the CIA during the cold war and Murkoff works with them
The CIA and Murkoff worked together in the early 1960s. Murkoff was funded by the government to experiment on MK Ultra, there is a whole document about it in Outlast 1. Anyway I believe the trials was not only to experiment MK Ultra but to make a trained Sleeper agent out of your character. So the ending probably is your character succeeded the trials and becoming a Sleeper agent that will assassininate targets for Murkoff and the CIA. They use codes to awaken you and then send you on missions, kinda like how Mason was brainwashed in Black ops 1 seeing the numbers.
As long as you break line of sight while being chased, you can easily hide in the dark. Hiding is also a risk, since if EX-pop decides to randomly search your spot you get punished. Also hiding ex-pop's may be inside there as well.
I don’t think this has the right horror and tense effect like the other 2 games did. I really thought it would be another investigation but it’s just a bunch of people doing trials. Plus there’s no camcorder :(

Honestly, this game seems not as good as outlast one or two. It feels a game without soul for some reason. I mean, there is a story, but it feels so shallow in comparison to the others even though most of its story is hidden and interpreted. Also, I feel that they appealed too much for gore in this game. It feels like they decided... hmmm what about creating a space full of corpses and the most abnoxious things and justify as part of the brain washing stuff. I mean, I don't feel it. I hope they create another outlast and focus on providing a heavy storytelling with scenes touching our emotions in different ways like hope, anger, fear, happiness, confusion, and much more. From what I have seen, this game just focus on gore, fear and breafly hope after "exiting" the experiment. I don't know. It is just my personal opinion.
This is NOT a main entry game. This is a spin off with the story not being the main focus. The main focus was a co-op horror game, which imo they succeeded with. They did decide to make the game completely integrated into the lore of Outlast, but we will go back to a heavily story focused Outlast with Outlast 3.

Thanks for uploading this-unfortunately, this game feels like a huge disappointment. I was watching others play as well and the gameplay is just incredibly boring. Every map looks identical, all the enemies are identical, all the tasks are "go here and pick something up", and all the dialogue sounds identical. It was somewhat heart racing at first but it quickly devolves into dealing with extremely annoying enemy AI and repetitive stealth tasks. It just seems like a half-assed "we made one map good so let's just copy and paste those assets for the entire game". Thankfully it's not a $70 game but for an Outlast title I was really hoping for more. At best it's another Friday the 13th/DBD type game. Thanks for putting all the cutscenes because I couldn't find any good videos on UA-cam.
What does DBD type game? More gameplay oriented? I found it very enjoyable and loved all the unique things in it, if you haven't played it yet, the gameplay is much more fun when experiencing it

Thanks for uploading this-unfortunately, this game feels like a huge disappointment. I was watching others play as well and the gameplay is just incredibly boring. Every map looks identical, all the enemies are identical, all the tasks are "go here and pick something up", and all the dialogue sounds identical. It was somewhat heart racing at first but it quickly devolves into dealing with extremely annoying enemy AI and repetitive stealth tasks. It just seems like a half-assed "we made one map good so let's just copy and paste those assets for the entire game". Thankfully it's not a $70 game but for an Outlast title I was really hoping for more. At best it's another Friday the 13th/DBD type game. Thanks for putting all the cutscenes because I couldn't find any good videos on UA-cam.
What does DBD type game? More gameplay oriented? I found it very enjoyable and loved all the unique things in it, if you haven't played it yet, the gameplay is much more fun when experiencing it
@@skipperdipper5186 DBD = Dead by Daylight but in fairness I haven't played it so you might be right that I'd enjoy the gameplay itself-usually tho if I don't enjoy watching, playing is even less fun. I'll take back what I said about it being a disappointing Outlast title cause apparently they're making an actual 3rd one and this isn't a full title
@@gingerayyle I know DBD, but I meant what did you mean by DBD like game? I respect your opinion, but if enjoyed it so much and it hasn't even received a content drop yet. I just want others to have as much fun as I have I guess?
If you've got the money, and a decent PC, I would recommend waiting for a sale and getting a refund on Steam if you don't like it. You get a 2 hour grace period. It's already 25% off on Epic with their coupon, and they've got the same refund policy.
Although if your friends can't/ won't buy as well, it's not as great an experience, you can feel the jank more, if that makes sense
@@skipperdipper5186 oh gotcha-I meant 'DBD-like' as in similar stealth mechanics and objectives to escape (i.e. tasks analogous to starting generators) while being lighter on the plot. I'll give it a shot if I get the chance but by all means if people are enjoying it and I'm in the minority that's awesome and I have no problem with that

How exactly? If you do not like playing online games such as dbd, deceit, phasmo then Ig yeah it is not for you but you are missing out the fun you could have with friends :) trolling the AI is so much fun and I've learned so much playing this game.
