Hey folks! This is an update on the Casio G Shock I first reviewed in 2018. As always, this is a product I bought on my own, and that I actually use. I haven't released a new video in a while, so if you're subscribed, thanks for sticking around.
I have the same watch, I bought it 2019 and still running. I even had an accident in my motorcycle, I was wearing it and just a few scratches. What an awesome watch...
Just ordered this watch today. Seems to get really good reviews and the solar power is definitely a plus. Looking forward to getting this. When did this watch model come out ?
I have several Casios including different G Shock models. I'm just a bit on the fence about the design and looks of the 6900 line. The three, round displays (graphs or eyes) take up a lot of space. I prefer to have the show of time having top priority on the main screen be it by digits or hands.
Can I just ask what the actual case size is (not lug to lug) from just above the curved G SHOCK on the bezel above 12 to just below the light button at 6? It’s really difficult to find the answer because every measurement on the web includes the “lugs”/start of strap, it would be so handy if you could, thanks in advance 👍🏻
You can cheaply buy a new bezel and strap. It will almost look like a new watch. You could easily clean out the 'residue' with warm water and a toothbrush. No offence but maybe you need to put in a little more effort keeping the watch clean.
I have found that if you put the watch in boiling water for about 2 to 3 minutes, take it out and use a toothbrush, that will get all that residue out of there. Dry it up with a soft cloth and your 6900 will look great again. Still, this is a very good model to have in a GShock collection, no doubt!
Laundry detergent diluted in warm water and a soft tooth brush would break down any skin oils and grime, you can repeat the process, this process has made many watches I owned look brand new especially metal watches If you got a new genuine bezel and strap the watch would be good as new
I just got mine two weeks ago and I noticed that the battery charge has stayed on MID even after charging it for hours in the sun. Is it normal or I got a “lemon”?😳😮
I had the same issue I thought, but after 2-3 days of sunny hiking, the watch was fully charged. So, more than just two hours in the sun to fully charge ime.
The transition from mid to high is quite long, just let it sit in the sun for a whole day. It will stay on high without bright light for a long time after that (several days). Just my opinion after owning the gw-6900 for some years now, no values recorded to give correct empirical data though.
I have owned many gshocks. I hesitated buying this one until about a week ago. It has become one of my very favorite watches almost instantly.

I have the exact same watch. Practically the only watch you'll ever need 😃
I’ve had mine for 12 years. Still works like new

Casio has released some nice versions in 2024. MOT, Suzuki and 6904. 6904 even has a new module...
For the money they are excellent. I’ve owned two and they take a beating.

For $30ish or so you can get new bazel and strap and you'll have a brand new gw6900. Great watch
I would do exactly this 😊

Put some salt pepper and spices and you have yourself a dinner 😂
Plastic is not a durable material. It is there to absorb shocks. Better you do not put it in boiling water or direct sunlight in the summer.
BTW, a used toothbrush can do the trick with those residue.
Yes toothbrush with warm water and dishwashing soap.👍🏻
With 20 bar water resistance rating you can do light diving.
this model is growing on me
Get an old toothbrush , some warm water and a bit of baking soda and that should clean out the residue . Just regular watch cleaning maintenance.

That sounds like an issue to me. Mine charged in the sun in just a couple hours.

No probably not leave it in the sun for a few weeks before calling it a dud honestly they can a long time
i rotate between dw9052 and this
Best g shock you can get...
