The 50s to Buddy, and that defensive effort in the last quarter to stop the certain Melbourne goal, really epitomised the game. Melbourne was undisciplined and Sydney was just super committed. Melbourne had a chance to put Sydney away but they committed some horrendous unforced turnovers in the third quarter. Sydney's pressure was intense though so forced Melbourne into mistakes a lot as well. I reckon these two meeting in the GF would be awesome.
Mmm, yeah, looked forced to me. Snubbing an expression of sportsmanship at the beginning of any contest ought to always end in karma humiliation. All the Sydney fans waving bye at end is funny cos that's what Geelong is gonna be doing next week to them fans it's funny cos Melbourne lost the game on purpose n I'm not a Melbourne fan it's a fact they did
Can we get less biased commentary? Seriously. BT is a chump. Ruined all the good sydney goals cause he was too busy having a cry they weren't for the dees.
Fair play to them, but let’s be real, a lot of the goals were from easy and unpressured turnovers such as the Gawn to Hunt cute kick which could have been avoided led to easy goals. 3 goals from 50 meter penalties and grade A flopping from Franklin also helped. Couldn’t believe the commentators on triple m were praising Franklin’s flopping by saying ‘he is that much of a legend that he doesn’t need to touch the ball to influence a game’ 🤡🤦♂️ Despite playing like $hit Melbourne still had easy opportunities such as the two Melksham misses and once again shot them selves in the foot. Dominated forward half but the same old story with Melbourne. Don’t think Sydney are a GF lock, far from it. Dogs/More likely Collingwood and Fremantle are more than capable of knocking them off.
Did you even watch the game? Or pay any attention to their form over the last 6 weeks? If you want to be real then feel free to zero in on Sydney’s missed opportunities as well - errors come from pressure, Sydney’s pressure was a level above and Melbourne couldn’t cope. To think the Dogs or Pies can still knock them off is laughable and not based in reality - just like the Pies fans blaming the Sydney loss on the game being at the SCG and it would be different at the MCG. Wake up and smell the roses, the Swans are the only serious team to challenge the Cats at the moment.
Your first point, I’d say “perceived pressure” or “residual pressure” played huge role in the game. Missing goals/passes are byproducts of that. Buddy is a spud most days and today he was pretty useless. Both those penalties were soft as shi - May was the better player and the better man by far! But swans could’ve also missed those goals. They didn’t. Crucial stat. By the third quarter, Melbourne gradually started to fade - there was no sting and they kept missing in front of goal. Kept goalless from there to the end. Melbourne lost for a reason. I don’t think they’ll meet Geelong again this year. In saying that, both brissy and dees have been patchy so it’s 50/50 really. Swans look pumped. They want that shi! Did you see the hype after the win?! [edit] and no team is ever a “lock”. “Upsets” are real, man.

The only players you see coming from rich households are the ones who are the sons of famous soccer players. Australia’s real soccer talent is being blocked from being allowed to show off their skills to the nation’s top teams and selectors because of their socioeconomic status. Why should people try to become soccer players if it’s too bloody expensive to even try to become one? It would be much cheaper to become an AFL player or an Olympian.

Never seen Melbourne looked like a deer in headlights especially during the 2nd quarter and onwards. That pressure was on show

lost the granny by 10 goals mate. wouldnt be cahtting if i were you. win a flag
I loved how may and buddy made up in the end ❤️
Mmm, yeah, looked forced to me. Snubbing an expression of sportsmanship at the beginning of any contest ought to always end in karma humiliation. Swans’ win has amplified that for Buddy - he had precious little to do with it. May can hold his head high. Good bloke. That kind of player is much more valuable than a 75m kick for goal.
@@AnthonyLeighDunstan more valuable than a guy who’s kicked 1000?

Full credit to the swans, that was a sensational performance against a quality side in the demons and thoroughly deserved to win.
quality? the dees lost to Collingwood twice
@@datsunyellow2570 So what? just because the pies beat them twice does not say the whole story. They smashed the lions twice this season at the MCG and at the Gabba, smashed Freo in Perth (though they lost to freo badly at the MCG) and they beat the tigers. The demons may have not had the season that they would have liked but they are still a good side and I hope that they can go deep into September again. (Coming from a tiger fan)
Kinda reminds me when Sydney beat Adenauer in the 2012 finals series and went on to win it all. Think they may just do it again.
Well done Swans. Without May it would have been a pasting - he played a lone hand down back. You had them across the board last night - ferocious!

What the hell is this sport? How did I get here?
Fair play to them, but let’s be real, a lot of the goals were from easy and unpressured turnovers such as the Gawn to Hunt cute kick which could have been avoided led to easy goals.
3 goals from 50 meter penalties and grade A flopping from Franklin also helped. Couldn’t believe the commentators on triple m were praising Franklin’s flopping by saying ‘he is that much of a legend that he doesn’t need to touch the ball to influence a game’ 🤡🤦♂️
Despite playing like $hit Melbourne still had easy opportunities such as the two Melksham misses and once again shot them selves in the foot.
