- Welcome to our Hebden Bridge vlog as we ask the question - Is it really Europe's greatest town as many claim.
Hebden Bridge is a market town in the Upper Calder Valley, West Yorkshire, England, UK and is regarded as the, 'Great Town In Europe'.
Hebden Bridge is famous for having an incredible community feel and the highest proportion of independent shops per capita in the country.
It is also regarded as being one of the most gay friendly towns.
We visited on Easter Monday, only to find out that the annual duck race was taking place and of course we had to take part.
Join us on our tour around the town, shops and restaurants, and of course the duck race.
As always, we finish the video with a well deserved pint.

Welcome to the official Postcard & A Pint UA-cam channel.
Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Now back to working 6 or 7 days a week again, with very little time off, our happy time is getting out there on our brief times off together and making short travel videos that we are now sharing with you. I lived there for a short while about 15 years ago. Late sunrise and early sunset cos of the steep hills, very expensive properties mostly without any gardens and over-crowded roads during the rush hour and at weekends (too many Porsche Macans). But it is an incredibly quirky place to visit and I always enjoy going to see the place.
We really enjoyed our day there. I don’t know if we’d want to live there, but it was very quirky. We did clock the price of properties in the local estate agents 😱. The duck race was hilarious and it did seem to be a place with a great community spirit. We didn’t even think about the sunrise and sunset, but it does make sense as it is in a ‘bowl’ - cheers for watching and sharing your memories with us. 🍻

I loved the duck race! It's these sorts of quirky events that make a day out. Will's pasta had my mouth watering, pasta with 2 of my favourite Greek food items Haloumi and olives. I'd never heard of Hebden Bridge either but it's now on the list when visiting Yorkshire.
It was a total surprise. We’d read about it, but it was so much better than we thought. The duck race was a bonus, rubbish ducks aside. It has such a great community feel, everyone coming together and so proud of their town. The food was amazing, we want to go back to try other places as they all looked so good! We've heard of this place and have seen many pictures of the canal on social media. Didn't realise it had all those shops, it looks like a nice ace to visit. It's not far from Halifax which we've been to a few times and the buildings are mainly brown like they are in this video. I think it's only 8 miles from Hebden. Thanks for showing us around 👍

First off, your editing is spot on. I feel like you should be publishing travel videos for TV. The narrating, the music changes, the b-roll - so so so good! Second, Hebden Bridge looks like a fun town to explore. I'm not the biggest Ed Sheeran fan but it would be fun to bump into him there. ;)

Oh man, this place is great. So much going on this Easter Day. The canal and all the geese, but my favorite the duck race. All the eateries and that market were awesome, but your Greek food had to be the best. That theater is a treasure. I used to run an old theater film projector. Fun memories. You guys are hilarious.

You certainly went there on a perfect day, the weather was perfect, the market was on and the place was absolutely bustling. Cant beat a good record selection for Wills! Some classics in that vintage shop! The blossoms looked lovely. Love the uniformity across the town of the brick work, that really helps sell a place to me. Great Christmas purchase! 🦆 i wonder what the actual ducks make of all the proceedings! That is a lot of plastic ducks, bad luck with that one! Wow, great spot of Ed Sheeran, he was very ignorant though! Great final decision to visit, probably not Europes best town but a very affluent English town with lots going for it! Great joke, gets two quacks from us! 👍

Well guys I am currently playing UA-cam catch up after having family stay with us and who better to kick it off then you guys! Rach and Wills this was an incredible day out from start to finish and really enjoyed your video! What a lovely town, definitely one of the best in the UK (not sure about Europe). Loved your tour on Hebden Bridge, Rachel and Wills. I don't know if I would call it the greatest town in Europe but I certainly wouldn't dispute it! It's gorgeous. We love seeing the the stone buildings and the bridge. Just a lovely town! Mary is a legend! At one time you went to school and got a degree or certificate to run the projector. It paid well! But wait. We had to freeze the video and look up the "Thomas Crapper!" Didn't see how that was going to work? After exhaustive research (we googled it) we found it was the gentleman's name (bet he had fun in school) and he sold all kinds of plumbing fixtures in the late 1800's. There's money in the kind of Crap! Just a beautiful tour of a gorgeous town. Even with your crappy ducks it was still a fun day! You donated to charity too. We know that had you won you would have just donated that back too! Thanks so much for bringing us along.
Ah thanks both. It was one of those surprising days when we went somewhere we hadn’t planned to because of the weather and it turned out to be a little belter! What a beautiful town. We absolutely loved it. Meeting Mary was amazing and the duck race was a bonus! The town has such a community feel to it and people seem so proud of where they live - and why not!
