As someone that has spent 30 years in the restaurant industry I have never been a fan of the "annual gimmicky pans". I prefer All-Clad professional cookware. However, my sister bought me the two pan set for Christmas and I'll be honest... I wasn't in any hurry to use them. In fact they hung on my pot rack for 3 months before I used them and.... well i was impressed. If cooked well, had a good sear on the meat and then it cleaned up so easily... Ok, so now I will actually use it more than my other pans... It is actually very good...
I was so excited to go out and buy some All-Clad cookware when I became financially able to, and now I never use it... I mostly use my Le Creuset grill pan and my gimmicky nonstick pans!
I have the original for about 2 years now myself and I love it. My nephew put some deep scratches in it about a 6 months into owning it and it's still non-stick. I did want to get a new one because I don't like looking at the scratches but since nothing really sticks to it, it's not really necessary.
Every time a new non stick pan comes out I'll buy it usually because the last pan I bought is no longer non stick. However I bought a Granitestone pan and they are really as good as they claim. I spent 15 years in the Pub/Restaurant business and I'm very impressed with this pan.
Loved the original. My partner burned it on high heat then used strong abrasive and that finished the non stick in the areas where it burned. I went back to bed, bath, and beyond, but they stopped carrying it and only had a smaller one. I found the old size at Home Depot online at a great price and ordered two. THEY ARE GREAT. I have no need for another one right now but I'll see if I can find 1 to buy anyway. This is the BEST, EASIEST TO USE AND CLEAN PAN I HAVE EVER SEEN. I never would have known about this but for your show, so I thank you for simple information that makes one aspect of my life easier. That matters. Thank You James

@@stephen_ Yes, they are still in great condition. After a year, the pans still act as if they were brand new. There's honestly no difference. I do take really good care of them so that's a big impact. The only thing I will note is when I received the pans, there was a small dent on the rim of the pans but honestly it cooks so that's all it matters.
I saw your GraniteStone pan review in March and decided to give it a try. Very impressive pan! We liked it so much we bought a ten piece GraniteStone cookware set and promptly gave away our old copper colored non-stick pans.
After watching your first review for Granitestone pan, I got mine in December and L❤VE it! Even cooking a pork tenderloin in the oven worked well. The only problems I had with the pan is when I do cook something in the oven and there's sauce that splatters and gets on the handle. The handle is hard to clean. My solution...I cover the handle with foil.
I guess the nonstick has its advantages and disadvantages.as professional chefs rely on some of the food sticking on a bottom of the pan so we can use the fond for making pan sauces cuz that's where all the flavor is
You can take cast iron and stainless to well past 400F and expose the cooking surface to flame without issues. High temperatures and open flame will degrade non-stick surfaces.
Most professional chefs honestly wont make pan sauce. You make a fond way before you cook the food. Never heard of an actual chef make pan sauce. Just beat up some vegetable and big meaty bones in the oven until proper brown and boil that.

I have a granite rock and granite stone. 2 different sizes. I bought the first off your recommendation (the bigger one) and later bought the smaller one since I loved the first so much. I've had vastly more expensive traditional non-stick pans and they were trash compared to these. I've "evangelized" these pans to friends and family. So thank you for the original review.
After your original review I went to go buy the original pan. I liked it not only because of your review, but the large, square surface area of the original pan. When they changed the name, they also changed the pan shape, along with its cooking surface which became MUCH smaller(2:26) of this video. I never bought it because of that.
i just bought this pan last week! haven't had a chance to try it out yet, gonna use it for the first time probably on monday. threw me off i the store, i was looking for "graniterock", but the name was different, but same logo and packaging so i figured it was the same thing
Here is a stellar Granitestone review! I just recently bought a full set after trying a pan out because I saw the review on Freakin' Reviews. Thank's to you for your awesome reviews! Here's the scoop, I received the small (5" ?) pan with the set. The recipe I was following said to wipe the pan out before the next step. There was a plastic potatoe bag in the can and, wouldn't you know it! The bag glomped on to the pan! Here's the freakin' part, with just a little elbow grease and a plastic ruler edge, all the plastic came off! (I am arthritic, so my elbow is not very greasy, either.) Thank you for turning me on to these pans!
There is a pan brand called "The Rock" by Starfrit. They make a double burner griddle/grill pan. I love it. It sears burgers like it is cast iron but I can just put it in my dishwasher and walk away. :) I would be curious to see how they would battle against each other. :)
I got this pan right after the name change also thanks to the Review you did on it. It was one of the best buys I ever did after the let down that was the copper chef.
I love the Hexaclad for its even cooking and quick heating. Have had my pans for over a year and love them. They are not completely non-stick, but i would rather not have all those sprayed on non-stick coatings on my pans anyway. very durable. Cook with the lid that has a small air valve. does a great job. Test your pan with large amount of food. The Hexaclad retains its heat which is important for recipes. Cheaper pans do not do well here. No warping.
@@ejunsub thanks for the info. i have not looked into ceramic coated cookware and if there are any health dangers. usually it takes years for us to find out these things.

I bought the hex clad pans after watching your videos. found them used on ebay for a good deal. I freaking love them. I beat the hell out of them and they just laugh and keep going! Might have to give this granite pro a shot too!
I have a Nu Wave cook top. I wanted the GraniteStone pan after your original review but it wasn’t available for induction. Now I’m excited about getting one ASAP. My Nu Wave is by far the most used appliance, hands down. The first one lasted five years before it started acting up. I bought the new version which is even better. I opened the old one up and found repair to be simple. Now I have a backup. The GraniteStone pans will replace my copper, which wear out quite often. Thanks for the review.
I love my Granite Rock pans and got them because of your reviews. The best pans I’ve ever owned. The only downside, and I mean the only, are the two stainless steel rivets that fasten the handle to the pan. Food really likes to stick to them. I seem to spend more time cleaning those than the rest of the pan. Have you had this issue too?
God, this is just too good to be true. I've dreamed of this kind of efficient cookware for years. Is this really as impressive as it looks like in this video? Awesome video btw.
can confirm these pans are bad ass... I've had one for 2yrs and it's still performing like it did when it came out of the box. just never use steel in them. always plastic, wood, silicone...
Like so many others have said... used your discount code to buy the pans. Always been a fan of calphalon nonstick, but they seem to have long term durability issues (at least in my household) Thanks for being an honest review.
I’ve gotten other nonstick cookware that said not to fry anything above medium heat. The website doesn’t say anything, but since this can go up 550F in the oven, do the instructions say that you can fry/sauté on high heat too? Only being able to fry at medium heat or lower is absolutely a deal breaker for me.
Would really love to see what you think of another collection within the The Rock brand pans, the Copper Edition I believe it's called. Same brand but slightly different surface - or something.
Your original video had me sold on the original pans. Since then, I’ve converted my entire family over to them haha. The price to performance ratio is superior to anything on the market currently. Thanks for this new video!
I have the Heritage Rock set ( same product different name ) , its my favorite set and I own quite a few different pot and pan sets including stainless steel set. I love how things dont stick to it and how easy it is to clean! best investment ever
Picked up the Graniterock after watching your original video. Was in the market for a new pan and it was well under what I was expecting to pay. It is my daily driver and will continue to be - and I cook in it at least 4 times a week. Worked so well I got my mother to grab one, though it was called the Granitestone at that point. Now it is her go to pan as well. Only drawback to the original was the inability to be used on induction cooktops. So this is definitely on my Xmas list now.
Hey James I see that 500k subcriber milestone is creeping up on you. I'd like to prematurely congratulate you on it and thank you for all the great reviews.
Great, I just bought the old Granite Pan not too long ago and now they have a better model. Just my luck. I would've liked to see you compare your old Granite Pan against the new one.
I think they should have more information about the precooking hot oil seasoning, and if it's not done correctly and about every 3 to 4 months, the pans will fail. And whatever you try to cook, will definitely stick and be ruined. If I only save one pan in this world, my job was done perfectly.
Absolutely agree. I just ordered the complete set of pro pots & pans & there was NOTHING in the instructions that tells you to season these pans. Glad I found this video!
Try the copper 99 cent store ones they are like $3 ish iv had my pot not used much but like a year now still looks new going to get the pan next time im in
You should compare that new Granitestone Pro with the Ballarini Bologna pan, which is another pan coated in 'Granitium' and also has Thermopoint, a colour-changing spot on the pan's handle that tells you when it's pre-heated (and also cooled down for washing). I'd love to know the performance vs this new pan and also if the 'Thermopoint' is just a gimmick! The pans seem to be similar price online..
The Ballarini pans I've seen are double the price of the granitestone. $60 for one pan plus shipping not 2 and free shipping plus there are discount codes from the company and James. Also for whatever reason, I haven't seen them in the states only Canada to avoid shipping though to be fair I haven't looked many places.
@@kennethcraig8656 That makes sense as I am in Canada and can't find a Canadian link for the GraniteStone Pro, but the GranitStone 12" is $43 CAD and the Ballarini Bologna 9.5" can be bought for $45 CAD on Amazon, or about $33 USD so I thought it was a good comparison. Maybe Ballarini is a better buy for Canadians at the moment. Edit: the 12.5" Ballarini Bologna is $65, maybe it's not comparable after all!
Would you compare these with calphalons pans? My granite stone 13 piece set came in today from the mail but from the time I was waiting, I ended up buying calphalon pans overtime at Ross and Marshall’s. I unboxed the Granitestone and they just felt much cheaper. I havnt compared the two yet because I feel like I just want to return the Granitestone set and stick with the calphalon pots and pans I’ve found. ( granite stone set /3 pans/5 pots $150) (calphalon set /3 pans/ 1 griddle pan/ 2 pots $130).
The 1st Gen. Type Pan with this configuration stone coating came out in the nineties one key feature is that it's not flat it's a porous surface it's got peaks and valleys so the food is actually cooking on top of the peaks therefore you have air getting in between these valleys and there's virtually no way for it to stick that's what makes it a very very good Pan
Granitestone no longer has the 2 pan set. They are all sold out. BUT, they have the 10 piece deal for $ 199. The website says that it is the Pro Series. My question is whether the collection of pans and pots is the Pro Series. My 2nd question is how to season the pots? I think I saw that the pans needs to be in the over for 15 minutes at 400 degrees F. How much oil should be in the pan during seasoning?
I’ve been waiting for this review I wanted to see how well the new pen worked compared to the old I wish you would’ve made some steaks and pork chops to see how it did with that and with seasonings on it love the video
How does the pan perform in a stir fry application? ie a lot of heat - this is what lets down every coated pan I have ever seen. To do a really good stir fry you need very high heat for a short time. Nothing I saw you do there seemed to get close to that kind of heat. Could you try that?
I purchased a Granitestone pan based on this review and initially, I was very pleased with it. However, now that I’ve been using it for about 6 months, things have started to stick, especially eggs. Now, it might be that my having put it in the dishwasher has affected the coating, but I think most people put pots and pans in the dishwasher.
Do you have to season the pan? I have a Gotham Steel Pro and never seasoned it. It has a pretty much identical bottom to this pan. So far after a year it’s not too bad. Just curious.
I absolutely love your reviews! Am looking for new pans. Have you ever used an Iris brand pan? And an enamel coated pan similar to Rachel Ray. I'd particularly like to see that. Am myself a retired professional cook. You rock!!!
One thing I didn't see you address is how quickly the pan heats up. For a quick breakfast of eggs, if the added thickness of the induction compatible base requires an extra 3 minutes to start cooking, that's probably going to favor the older version. (if you can find it) Considering that you think that the cooking surface hasn't changed much if at all.
I have both the Granite Stone and StRfrit Rock pots and pans and I abuse the heck out of them. 1.5 years later they are still functioning like new, even after being run through the dishwasher many times.
I've actually changed buying decisions based on some of these reviews. I was going to buy a Hydro Flask since the rest of my family has one or more, but I saw the one on the Coldest Water and bought that instead. It really is better and now my family all wants it.
I got the original, after your video. Then my wife got the 9-1/2" , because she liked the 12"! They're still doing good! I might just have to get the new one now. By the way, they work great for scallops, my wife says they taste like Red Lobster's! They don't stick, and they sear perfectly without overcooking them!
Hi! Listen I have an instant pot that I ADORE and use for everything (pressure cooking is the best). The only drawback is that it doesnt crisp or brown obviously. I saw yesterday that they have now come out with an instant pot air fryer combo that is supposed to "replace everything in your kitchen". It has interchangeable lids for pressure cooking and air frying. My finger is hovering over the add to cart button but I would love to see it put to the test first. Anyone else?
I got the big pan and the egg pan at the same time. Neither of them could handle an egg pan without something sticking. You are supposed to oil it before first use, but that is implied when they said it was non-stick...
I have a set of the Granitestone Diamond Pro cookware. I don't think anyone has mentioned the lids. They're impossible to clean when food gets under the edges. The edges should be sealed off, but I cooked some barley with the lid on and the foam with some of the debris got under the edges, and there is no way to clean it out. There is just enough for stuff to get in but can't be cleaned out. Seems very uinsanitary.
Thank you very much on your pan reviews, we have watched a bunch!!! We have the Green Organics which I was happy to see how you point out the importance of the seasoning, unfortunately after many years we deal with carbonation. Is there ways to restore a pan after that? How is the material between the Granite Stone and Copper differ? Recommend you review Steelmade cooktop if you have not already.
Crazy world. I was laying in bed at night watching this video on my phone. Fast forward 48 hours and I’m cooking with this pan. Also order on my phone. Great pan though. Thanks for the video
Have you tried the granitestone diamond pro? I believe they have a different coating that is ceramic. Not sure if they last as long or have the same level of non stick. They have them at costco with a stainless steel exterior. Maybe you could do a review…

I just bought a set for my mother for her upcoming birthday with your coupon code to support your work. Thanks for the review.
Always love your videos James my favorite video of your is when you reviewed the purple mattress watching that video made me change my mattress
Just purchased this pan, I hope it works out for me as well as it did for you. Thanks again James!
Tuna & Cream of Chicken sauce!!! What would you have that with? In fact what does it taste like. Scared to try it. Love the videos.
I purchased a pair of the GraniteStone pans last week and have been very happy with their performance. Mostly egg, meat and stir fry cooking..
I use it on a gas stove.
Thanks for posting. I’m in need of a pot not a skillet and I see Heritage has it 🤗
How do you season a pan? You have to do it regulary-how often?
How do you take care of the graniterock pan overime and can you use butter/oil to cook if you choose to?
Premature congratulator
I have the original granite stone set and love them. nothing has stuck at all and its maintained its non stickness for 7 months of almost daily use.
Have you reviewed the Gotham Steel Stacker pots and pans set? Are those really good non stick stackers for the price? Thanks
I have 3 copper pans of different sizes (8", 12", 16") and love them but I'm looking at the Professional Granite Stone pans for my next set.
Try the copper 99 cent store ones they are like $3 ish iv had my pot not used much but like a year now still looks new going to get the pan next time im in
James, you had me at “induction”. Had to buy the 2 pans but thanks for the $11 savings!
What the coupon code?

Have you re-seasoned the Red Copper pan to maintain its non-stickness?
what do you mean you cant eat a sandwich with runny egg? my family does all the time you pop the yolk and use the sandwich to mop it up.
I got my granitestone diamond pan because of your original video and I'm glad to see a new version.
Just heard Ninja came out with some cookware! I'll be waiting patiently for your review! Would love to hear how Ninja compares to Granite Stone!!!!
Same
Would you compare these with calphalons pans? My granite stone 13 piece set came in today from the mail but from the time I was waiting, I ended up buying calphalon pans overtime at Ross and Marshall’s. I unboxed the Granitestone and they just felt much cheaper. I havnt compared the two yet because I feel like I just want to return the Granitestone set and stick with the calphalon pots and pans I’ve found. ( granite stone set /3 pans/5 pots $150) (calphalon set /3 pans/ 1 griddle pan/ 2 pots $130).
I've been looking for a durable nonstick fry pan for everyday use and I'm going to give the Granite Stone set a try. Thanks James !
Except mine 😟😟
Granitestone no longer has the 2 pan set. They are all sold out. BUT, they have the 10 piece deal for $ 199. The website says that it is the Pro Series. My question is whether the collection of pans and pots is the Pro Series. My 2nd question is how to season the pots? I think I saw that the pans needs to be in the over for 15 minutes at 400 degrees F. How much oil should be in the pan during seasoning?
Waiting to take delivery of my 20pc Pro Series set. Do I need to season the pans?
When are you going to review the self cleaning pot and pan set? I would love to see that!!!
You dont use high heat in a nonstick pan cause it removes the non stick coating. These are for low to medium heat cooking. Use a wok.
I hand wash only all of my pans.
No. Everyone does not put pans in the dishwasher!
Love the granite stone pans. I really wish they would have baking sheets.
they do! granitestone.com/products/i-knead-you-now-5-piece-bakeware-set
They do.
Love my granite rock. Does the pro series have a lid? I’ve never been able to find a lid for the square one I have.
Yes, they do make a lid for the pro series.
Do you have a Ninja Neverstick pan for a future review?
Yes
Do you have to season the pan? I have a Gotham Steel Pro and never seasoned it. It has a pretty much identical bottom to this pan. So far after a year it’s not too bad. Just curious.
Thank you for your most helpful review sir. I decided to give the pan a try since it now supports induction cooktops.
How do you season your pan? And thank you for the demo 😊
Try seasoning your copper pan as you did the GraniteStone pan and see if there is any improvement.
Need a new pan or 2, saw these on a commercial...might just need to invest. Great review as always!
I'm going to need a pan set soon and this is now my #1 pick.
"Pressed from a solid sheet of alluminum!!" Just like every other skillet lol
I love egg sandwich with over easy egg, it’s delicious
The runny yolk is the best part
That's how I like mine also. They are a bit messier. But they make up for that in taste!
scratchmyback1
Oh, yes! A cooked yolk just tastes different. If I break my yolk while cooking, I’ll make another egg. It is messy as heck, but slopping up the drips with the bread crust is yum, lol!
