I just like to say working with JBuild was very good he helped me a lot along the way of building this system. Now that my deflection problem is solved I am a happy man. Thanks again. Joe
This is a great fix. I'm just about to fit some 3030 rails on my cheap Clarke table here in the UK. Just need to sort out a sliding mech for the fence 👍
Great build and idea. Really like the fact that you have the ability to increase or decrease the cut size. Something you could never do with a factory made fence.
Just bought your plans and really appreciate this design and that ypu shared it. Looks like a great fence and I will be ordering the parts from your included link. Thanks again!
I really like this design! I've been thinking about a proper fence for a long time - ever since I got my saw which is a Startrite combination machine and the fence is a joke tbh. Thanks for posting this :)
What a fantastic idea & setup. Ive been looking for while for this type of innovative system. I will order the extrusions straight away. Very well done, & many thanks for sharing you idea.
Excellent work ! I'm about to build my extruded aluminum fence as well but, i'm planning on using my guide rails as a stand in for the INCRA system i want to buy. My plan is to use the sections i purchase as extensions for my in-feed and or out-feed support once the INCRA system is purchased. If i change my mind i also got a few other ways to use them.
I like the design, easiest I think I’ve seen so far. I’m also interested how you mounted your riving knife as mine is even older and definitely times I wish I had one
This is the stock riving knife one actually. On my current 113 Saw drilled and tapped a 5/16 hole and use mounted a thin piece of aluminum to serve as splitter
Your Fence is most Excellent. Could I hire you to build one? It’s a long story but I have trouble with my hands. I have a Shopsmith that I want to upgrade. I am in a wheelchair and have huge energy problems. Maybe we can work something out… Thank You.
As part of the initial calibration, you use clamp it down parallel to the miter slot, then tighten down all the bolts for the front slider. After that it will retain this position.
There is a 3-4 day processing time and we ship through UPS ground. If you send me a message at sales@jbuildstore.com and let me know your zip code, I can give you a better idea.
Thanks! Lot of folks add a router table extension to their table saws so my 50" version allows you to use this fence for both the table saw and router.
I believe so. If you can remove your original fence rails and have mounting holes to mount the new aluminum rails with bolts, then you should have no issue 👍🏼
Hi really good idea look's just like what i have been looking for, in the video you said you would list part's and where to purchase them, i followed the link but couldn't find anything
Hi Steve, sorry about the confusion but if you go to the site, you can click on the item which says "Plans". This has a parts list (80/20) as well as step by step directions for installation.
Sorry I have not gotten around to filming the whole install start to finish but I do have the complete installation instructions for sale on my site which has the part numbers as well
Hi, I do have the plans for the newer style fence system on my website but I might just post the parts list and manual for this version as will since a few folks have asked about it.
I've got an old Walker-Turner 8" saw. I know I'll have to drill mounting holes for the rails. (1) guessing this will fit and is universal, (2) do you include the UHMW spacers, and (3) since the fence doesn't lock to the rear rail, is it really necessary?
1 - Yes the mounting holes are drilled roughly 7'8" from the top of the tabletop so just make sure your top is thick enough to support that. 2 - Yes the UHMW pads are included as part of the front slider assembly. 3 - The main purpose of the rear rail is to support the fence past where the original tabletop extension ends. If you already have a longer or custom extension then it can be skipped however i have found that it slightly improves the movement of the fence as there is a UHMW pad under the bottom of the fence that fits into the rear rail.
@@jbuilds1 Awesome! You have a feel for the shipping cost to Long Island, New York? Starting to warm up here. New fence could sure catapult me into spring!

Seems a shame to go to that much trouble and then have no more accurate way of setting a rip width than to use a tape measure. How about building in a scale, or better still a digital readout? The WIxey units are inexpensive.
Hey great point! I'm working on a quick video on adding a tape measure to the top T slot of the front rail. Also I have had customers install the Wixey readout mounted on the bottom t slot of front rail
Man, EXACTLY what I plan to do, I have several aluminum rails from 20x20 to 100x100, You did what I need to do, thanks man , awesome

Olá. Achei muito interessante.
Onde posso encontrar o fornecedor desses componentes?
Chama perfil de aluminio estrutural ou perfil de aluminio de extrusão. São componentes meio caros no Brasil
Anyone think this would be better than those wood fences that people are making?
Once built, how do you adjust it so it is parallel to the blade/miter slots?
As part of the initial calibration, you use clamp it down parallel to the miter slot, then tighten down all the bolts for the front slider. After that it will retain this position.
What section of aluminum did you use for the rails

I like it very much
Anyone got a link to these sliders? I have all the parts to built a similar fence but cant find any of the sliders
Hi Niek, if you search for 80/20 part 6760 on Google you should be able to find it.
@@jbuilds1 thanks, found them! Unfortunately im Dutch and they dont ship outside the US so my search continues haha

How much did this set up cost?
Would you consider offering just the pieces/hw without the extrusions for those of us who have plenty of aluminum extrusions?
Hey! I do have just the instruction manual which has a parts list as well as step by step instructions for installation on my site.
It would've been much better if you had shown us "HOW" you made it in detail. I hope you will do this in the future. It would be great.

would this work on a craftsman 152.221040 and your package has everything

I just went to your website, besides a craftsman table saw can i place this on a saw with a top 21 inches front to back?
Hi where are you mounting holes located on the front? If you measure from top of the saw to center of the hole

What is the length of the fence extrusion?
The length of the fence extrusion is 37". Rails are available in cutting capacities of 30" or 50"

Would this fit on porter cable pcb270ts?
Yes - you will have to drill the mounting holes about 7/8" down from the top of the tabletop
And your package $175 includes everything it needs to work?
@@mostafaelhaj8391 yup that only difference is the $175 one has longer rails

The accuracy test is not trustworthy. These aluminium profiles are extruded so they have a +-0.1/0.2 mm tollerance. I worked with them.
I make aluminium windows they definitely aren't perfect
