I'm so glad I just got my Dehya! Backstory: Just met Dehya in the quest that you mentioned. Kinda sad too about leaving her. But I really felt like I'd be able to get her in the standard banner. Close to pity. So I wished (even using some primos for one or two wishes more). To my surprise, I did get her. She's currently on my Fontaine traveling team for friendship points. 😂

I have so much love for Baizhu, he's a well rounded and all around top tier character who is also suprisingly an insane DPS when build well. So many people are busy riding the Baizhu hate train bc he came so late but theyre all missing out. They're all too busy simping for kokofish to see how amazing baizhu is at healing
I mean to be fair, Dehya isn't that bad unless you're talking about Floor 12 of the Abyss. So really, it's the same thing. Another niche gameplay within the wide scope of the game. Dehya's focus is just toward boosting exploration in places that would drain your HP. I personally think people blew a lot of her kit out of proportion. It's still not good, but it's more functional than people give it credit for.
i think Mihoyo intentionally made Dehya's kit like that for further purpose. like now with Lyney focusing on charge atk, and with Dehya interruption reduction they would make a great mono pyro team. i mean Dehya is a standard character after all, why some of you guys still hope Mihoyo fixing her kit. doesn't matter any more honestly

she's also useful in lyney's mono pyro teams cus resistance to interruption is really helpful for him and if you use lynnete as the anemo character there and bennet, you'll have the perfect fontaine exploration team! you'll have pneuma, ousia, and the only character who can bring external healing (and dmg with 4pc clam) underwater, and its a pretty good team in combat too!!
@@jayChg_G her 4th constellation gives her party a pretty strong shield after she uses her burst, so some people who need pyro shield characters build her as one since thoma doesnt work very well outside burgeon, and xinyan isnt very good

Yes, I also use dehya in underwater since fighting bosses underwater is freakin long. It's the battle of durability lol. better not care about my hp than trying to evade them all the time.
yeah this is something I noticed after playing with her for a while. Her kit (at least at C0) wasn't meant for a Time Attack Abyss Type of Content, a lot of it tend to revolve around survivability. Her Damage is bad for Abyss but sufficient enough and not overkill for overworld. Also since there's a lot of incentive to build her with HP, her Self Heal can give you one last fighting chance when you have trouble on overworld, which I assume is very useful for beginners since they don't have good artif set yet. Now, I do have C6R1 Dehya and I'll just say it, unless you have hyperinvested on her like myself, I don't recommend her for Abyss. Her DPS is just not sufficient enough, so you'd better off getting actual DPS characters like Alhaitham or Tighnari.
As someone with c0 r2 Dehya i think it depends on what team you use. If you use her as a hypercarry main dps she is definetily not viable in abyss but as a driver for a quickswap reaction based team she is somewhat decent. I use her in the abyss all the time together with candace, nahida and raiden as an on field hydro applicator. Does decent damage and since Dehya is on field 99% of the time i dont really have to worry about dying thanks to her self healing talent. She is lvl 90 and triple crowned though so you still need to invest quite a bit but you can still kinda make her work at c0.

Like you I use her as a defense support and regard her damage output as "adequate" but not the main source of damage for her teams. Likewise she's on field 99% of the time. She's great for floors requiring AOE teams, not so much for single target. So that's usually either the upper or lower 3 chambers of the 12th floor. According to my Abyss stats screen, she easily tanks over 1/2 a million damage. She's a lot of fun and I am really happy to see that she's doing so well with the new HP +/- mechanics.
Baizhu can also heal underwater with both his shield and passive. Although, for his shield, you have to do it before you get in the water or whenever you enter an area you can walk in - Sincerely, A baizhu main who accidentally tapped on his burst after feeding berrypuff
Baizhu's passive is good enough, u can't rely on that shield which already isn't great. -a bff of baizhu main who uses baizhu like deodrant in genshin and I'm here for it.

As much as I love seeing stuff that makes Dehya look stronger/more useful, since I love her character design, and wish to get my hands on her on my next failed 50/50 or standard banner 5 star pull; You must also realize, that fishes that can heal you are present underwater. Right? They even refill part of your underwater stamina bar. And Lynette can highlight the closest one on the map.
I’ve been thinking about doing this! One more bonus point for my Dehya-Sayu-Lynette-Kazuha/Freminet(hopefully in the future) exploration team. I’ve been loving it a lot - the damage of the team isn’t THAT good (though Kazuha can swirl whatever pyro Dehya applies, along with other element, and that damage is nothing to scoff at), it can easily tackle most overworld enemies and it’s generally an incredibly good exploration team. Sayu and Lynette move fast, anemo res (+ Dehya’s passive, if it stacks) makes them even faster and they can use their skills more frequently (especially if sac weapon passives proc), Kazuha scales walls and reduces stamina, Dehya is taller and faster and she just doesn’t die, she can survive Dragonspine, even the electro aura in Inazuma to a degree, and if she’s in trouble Sayu is there with the heals. As it turns put she’s also great underwater. Even material gathering is easy because Sayu’s passive makes animals not get startled and there are two claymores for mining. Honestly I’m not even that upset about losing to Dehya twice after this. She isn’t a great character, not that strong at all, but she’s very good for this team and purpose and I’m fine with that.

i've argued dehya is good since day one. im like why dodge attacks when i can just switch to dehya she cant die anyway, in raider shogen weekly boss fight i just bring dehya and no electro when she does her insta kill i let dehya take it and refill her entire hp bar with a steak, and to top it all off u can take dehya to dragonspine fall asleep in the cold and wake up with her still alive she literally turns off the whole mountains cold mechanic.
I took a 7/8 month break from the game and came back recently and got her. I know that a lot of people don't like her but I like running her as a support by using her skill. She absorbs some of the dmg while applying pyro and she helps with smashing ores. I don't think she is amazing by no means but she is useful like every other character

I have baizhu and one of his constellations makes him heal me underwater because he automatically shoots out his heal skill/attack either when I attack or am attacked, not sure which one
My underwater team is Nilou with 75k HP, baizhu (his passive helps heal active char while picking items, hydro traveler for pneuma and Lynette for ousia.

There is something to be said about having a character that makes open world exploration a bit less daunting. I've been relying so much on my lunch box and if it weren't for being AR 60 and having an ungodly stash of sweet madams (easy battle pass mission is cook 20 dishes every week) I would have run out of food by now.

@@dzakialfarizi7515building her for tankiness won't really improve the survivability of your team tho, unlike what happens when you build a shielder for tankiness. You're only really improving her tankiness which is useless since she can't drive other characters and her dmg is so low.

C2 Baizhu can attack with dendro/heal while underwater :)
Dehya equals best character in game easily it's not even close.

The problem is i got dehya right after i finished exploring fontaine

I have baizhu and one of his constellations makes him heal me underwater because he automatically shoots out his heal skill/attack either when I attack or am attacked, not sure which one
Dehya+noelle its very good for explor3 underwter
My underwater team is Nilou with 75k HP, baizhu (his passive helps heal active char while picking items, hydro traveler for pneuma and Lynette for ousia.

There is something to be said about having a character that makes open world exploration a bit less daunting. I've been relying so much on my lunch box and if it weren't for being AR 60 and having an ungodly stash of sweet madams (easy battle pass mission is cook 20 dishes every week) I would have run out of food by now.
The sole reason i got dehya many people said it was a waste of wishes but i say no i said it before and i am gonna say it again she is buffed in the new region just like kuki shinobu in sumeru

0:38 kuki's heal worked underwater but you can only activate it in the surface then you can go with it underwater

Step 3: use Kuki's skill
Step 4: jump into water and dive
Step 5: underwater special abilities who?
actually baizhu( kind of )work too because he heals the teammate on field if they pick up some overworld stuff
His C2 also allows normal attacks to heal every few seconds, so the underwater abilities trigger it.
I guess it's time to use my fifth team more which is my main dendro rxn team . Dehya is in there

When the desert character is naturally immune to sheer cold and now great underwater.
I'll stick to Ayaka bare legs underwater going straight up...
