Those two traps are like pain vs suffering to me. Pain occurs to tell you something, you get to choose what to do next. Ruminating on it is suffering. Staying in the thoughts pulls you out of action in the present moment.
I really have to work on ignoring my thoughts of frustration, annoyed, overwhelmed, and other negative thoughts that are holding me back from greatness.
Don't ignore, if you ignore you miss the point. Instead when they arise give them attention but don't attach to them. Let them drift off as they arrive. You are the watcher of your thoughts, you are not your thoughts.
I just want to add to mohsin's comment, as I completely agree... being aware of the fact that emotions have purpose is just the start... Struggling with the weight of an emotion and avoiding all the negativity of an emotion is indirectly giving those emotions more power as you are developing a contuous sense of deeper fear running from it... You mention "Thoughts of" then lists emotions... your thoughts are coming from said emotions! Yes, ignore 90% of your thoughts, but let that emotion be. Let whatever comes from that emotion be what it is. No resistance, no fighting... Sitting with that emotion long enough will make it dissipate. Big or small, bigger, the longer and more that's required to accept levels of negative emotion... The acceptance will feel like the weight of an argument coming to an end where you sigh and chuckle to yourself about how absurd it all was... acceptance elevates the mind into a state of courage to see past the fear your ego has created. E.g., fear of social interactions, ask yourself, what am I feeling. Talk to yourself like a friend and treat yourself like a friend. Eventually after moving the thoughts out of the way, you'll realise your scared or worried, or... etc. Its what youre feeling, and label it, make it recognisable... call it out, feel it, sit with it. Accept it... then soon enough those rushes of thoughts associated with that feeling will feel lighter. Eventually, you will have less threatening thoughts, and a calmness about feeling negative emotions because you have made internal peace with said emotion, and all thoughts associated to that emotion will become easier to understand over time. The battle of the mind has no winners or losers. It's an eternal dance, and like a dance the more rigid you are, the harder it'll be
And I want to add: As long as you give your inner critic the power over how you experience everything, you won't be able to love yourself. Loving yourself is the first step towards inner peace. And as the others said: Inner peace comes when you let your emotions be and stop running away. What we resist, persists. What we fully accept (with compassion, without judgement) will transform itsself. To me, that is the breath of life: Accepting, letting go, accepting, letting go... effortless...

I've had so much loss and been around angry mentally ill people who were angry. It pushed me to a bad place and I got angry with myself and eventually others.

I have learned as a Christian that life is not about being excellent in itself its rather about LOVE in the moment . Excellence without love is nothing . So in the moment LOVE God and everyone while you work and act and exist . Say " I love you " as a continuous note even as you strive for excellence .

I feel that my "anger" or "distain" is triggered whenever i see someone with their pants (not just sagging) but hanging off their entire ass. And, I've been asking myself "Why?". One answer is that it upsets me to see ignorance and stupidity in action. I don't want to see it, but there seems to be a disconnect to what is and isn't "indecent exposure". Mainly due to indecency itself being in the power of authority (again) and the rule (or making up new ones) of law. I'm sure, this too will pass. But right now...we is all in it, together. Best to put our focus on telling those who are in our loving sphere of influence that we love them daily. Practice gratitude upon waking and just before you drift to sleep. And lastly, enjoy our blue skies while we still have them. Peace. ✌💜🌏

Where your attention goes energy flows ✨ One of the most important things we can do collectively is learn how to heal deeply. Much of our society is built on emotional suppression. When we learn how to heal our inner child and the pain from our past, our ego is realigned, we receive clarity, connectedness, and sharper discernment. It is hard to move on from the past if you are not fully healed from it. Some people tell themselves theyre healed from it and they dont need to grieve, but theyre not, and it shows. Just like any physical pain, our body takes the time and care to heal itself. The same goes for emotion. If the wound is not healed, it can cause an emotional infection and spread to other parts of the body. Grieving is hard and uncomfortable, but when it is released, you can look towards the future in enthusiasm and eagerness.
I have had long term relationships with taking men, that were self centered and emotionally deprived of the ability to learn and go. So I now know I was to learn of myself and why this was happening. I accepted the unacceptable. I devalued myself. I am now ready for change.😊

When we suffer something, it always feels very important, while when the tension is released or relaxed, it seems about nothing at all,.So, suffering is a mis-understanding of the mind, a dis-connection,. Real sadness, as the loss of a loved-one is no problem, real anger for righteous purpose, is no problem, real fear, for a dangerous issue, is legimated,,. Most of our konflikts or sufferings are empty issues with others,. meaningless drama,..Awareness breacks the endless patterns of trouble,.as so for the collective, we are all in the same universe messing around,..............It is a clear and straight video,.. is good,.

- Body and mind as one.. one thought one action -martial arts, isolation for bit in ashrams/monasteries, meditative practices, solving the problem now, not dwelling in past or future that causes suffering (separation from present) - Observe things that you regard as separate each day to see them in The truth and unite them as One. - Love life, appreciate the time given to you. Appreciate life to liberate yourself. - Enjoy fully what you're doing, the chances that have been given to you in living this existence. - Help others to do the same and live fully. Spread joy and purpose to others for collective fulfilment.

In many situations I chose to act upon the thought because I know that if I ignore it, it will obsessively come to my mind some other times. For exemple, buying a thing I like.
