Forget Edmonton, they honestly look close to missing playoffs rather than going back to the final. Edmonton is all bark no bite, and their recent decision to "not move away from Skinner" will cost them a LOT. Jets on the other hand are amazing.

I would say that there's a bit of panic in Washington, just because right now we have no idea if "week to week" means two weeks or six weeks, and whether or not the injury will knock Ovi out of his hot streak or he can get right back on the horse upon return. Probably not enough to change their spot on the board, but definitely something to consider.

As a Sabres fan this is like the best record for this time of year in a bit. 2 years ago it was a strong middle of the season and kinda okay end that got them within 1 point of the Panthers. Being 500 at Christmas feels like if guys can get going you are still in the talk for a good second half getting. I know they need a 5 game winning steak or something like that, but not starting 4 12 1 is an improvement. It's been the top line that has been good with Thompson when he is in. The bottom line has also been good. They are also getting team scoring. It is the age old letting too many goals in. They need to win games when scoring 2 to 3 goals. Right now those feel like miracles. Plus not getting games to OT. Having 1 extra point is not enough. Ot losses and low scoring wins are what they need. Getting the St Louis game to OT by playing keep away so they had a full OT power play is proudest I have been watching them since 2018
The surprise with the Ducks lately has been they started winning when the injuries started piling up. Last year they went 9-6 and then all the injuries happened and then the slide started. So... The Capitals have been so good for so long. Last year, I resigned myself to the idea that the Capitals were on the downward spiral that Pittsburgh was in. And I was fine with that. Every team has to be bad eventually, right? But this apparently has the best management and completely remade this team. They have been fantastic. They are scoring in BUSHELS boys. They're fast. They're skilled. They buy what Spence is selling. Ovi is the friggin GOAT. It's a good here in Washington lads.
Chicago fans are definitely angry - We aren't expecting to win, but man are they rough to watch, and seeing Bedard not taking the next step is a touch frightening. They were atleast meant to be fun to watch this year, even if they end up bottom 5, but they can't score for shite, brutal.
Don't want to speak for all Pens fans but I'm definitely irritated. We're so directionless under Dubas right now. I don't know what sorcery or alchemy Eric Tulsky is whipping up but for a math guy, he sure seems to understand hockey. Who the hell is Eric Robinson? I've never heard of him before this season, he's 29 years old and has had a very unremarkable career to this point, but put him on the Canes and he's an impact player every night. This organization is phenomenal at drafting and free agency, but they're also phenomenal at coaching and team culture. It's astonishing if you were a Canes fan like 10 years ago. Every time I watch this team I want to pinch myself.
Yes VGK are 6 games above .500 but the amount of goals they give up is concerning. It’s a good thing they’ve been scoring a lot or the record could be worse. Not quite panicking but a little nervous if the scoring drops
As an Islander fan I feel panicked because we have choked third period leads on a consistent basis for the last two seasons. Farm is pathetic and at best they are a WC2 that only gets in due to lower points.
For me, it's that they're a different team with both Hague and Stone out. Plus, they can't beat a playoff team on the road or now at home. Not sure they belong 6th in the weekly power rankings.
As a Blues fan, I feel concerned is the correct category. Expectations going into the season were a push for a wild card spot, but too many key injuries with so much overlap means that young guys are getting more opportunity, but also getting used to mediocrity. Overall the effort is there, but when the effort leads to losing, it gets very discouraging.
Ducks fans that have attributed their lack of effort to Fowler are feeling pretty smart. They have won 4 of 6 since he went on IR. Not getting stuck in our zone because we won’t engage has ended in the last 5 games. We have looked like a normal team.
As a Devils fan, I would put them in 'OK'. Reason being that they have yet to put together a run that reflects they are a Cup contender. Playing well, but not like top teams.
I fear that the Flyers will start dropping pretty soon. To avoid that Couturier, Laughton and Frost need to show more. Konecny, Michkov and Sanheim have been great. Goaltending seems to be improving.

I feel ya there. I called two of Detroit, Ottawa, and Buffalo finally unseating one of Tampa and Boston and being better than the fourth best team in the metro. That aged like milk in the sun man.
As a Nashville fan, we were supposed to be a contender for the cup this year with all the money we spent this summer. Instead we're only contending for the draft lottery now. We're past panic and anger and have moved into stunned silent resignation.
Correct for us. Nothing to say here lmao
You laugh now, we will laugh later when you fail to meet your own expectations yet again.
@@theScotian24 what a crappy thing to say! If your team was 14-4 after 18 games, when everybody said you were going to suck, you'd be pretty stoked too. don't be a negative person
I completely agree with the placement of the Blues, along with the consternation involved in determining that placement.
Pittsburg is in their own category of "we saw this coming, but it's still very sad"
Caps fans we are full panic but not because of our record just because we hope Ovi is ok and will be back soon to amazing form.
The Metro is just stacked with skilled good teams
Thanks for letting us know
As a flames fan I wanna ride the line of great play as long as possible then crash and burn to get a top 10 pick and save our draft
Thank god this season is different. Last season there were like 10 teams waiting for the draft since early November.
I'm one of the seemingly few Bruins fans who is not panicking. Is a disappointing season so intolerable? On the other hand, it's been an excruciating FIVE MONTHS since Boston won a championship!
Agree! 57th season as a 🐻 fan… seen worse!🐻🏒🏒🏒
I'd say Ottawa is somewhere between concerned and angry. They might be solidly in angry after the next two games against Vegas and Vancouver though
I’ll tell you what… I’m loving life as a San Jose fan rn. Ik we aren’t going to make the playoffs but our expectations weren’t high and there is a real excitement about these kids currently. Things seem to be looking up for the long run even if they aren’t immediately here just yet
The Sharks are fun to watch. They seem like they are genuinely having fun out there. Your broadcast crew is pretty good too.
I think Toronto just lives in a permanent state of panic regardless of the record
there are two kinds of Toronto fans: those that are panicked, and liars
The Big Lemon 🍋
@@jacobeberhardt1649 yeah Caps have been clicking. sometimes thats all it takes
A lot of Pens fans online are in that bottom category already.
Wild fans are concerned for Zuccarello's balls
Richard Panik is a fantastic choice for the thumb nail haha
Good job dude. I like your comments
Chicago fans are definitely angry - We aren't expecting to win, but man are they rough to watch, and seeing Bedard not taking the next step is a touch frightening.
They were atleast meant to be fun to watch this year, even if they end up bottom 5, but they can't score for shite, brutal.
In Bedard's final year of junior, his team was eliminated early and it was expected.
Bedard will age like fine wine. The problem is that they have some washed players in their roster.
I’ll be the one to say it for Jersey fans, we are concerned about consistency.
As a Flames fan, I would put them in the whoo hoo! category because they were expected to be in the lottery race, not the playoffs.
Don't panic. Okay. Okay. Don't. Panic. Panicking.
-2024 Canuck fans
Don't want to speak for all Pens fans but I'm definitely irritated. We're so directionless under Dubas right now. Trying to be competitive but also continually selling our best performers when things don't go well. And I love Sullivan but you can't have a team with Crosby on it playing this poorly and keep your job.
Dubas is a huge gaslighter, he talks like he knows what he's doing, then he acts like a squirrel running around looking for his nuts, don't miss him in Toronto, you can send us back Bunting tho please and thank you 🙏
Caps fan here. After Ovi's injury NO WAY we're in the top category!! I'd say concerned. Other players are playing well but Ovi was playing very well and they will have to adjust however long he is out.
Hes week to week relax already
@@theScotian24 Week to week yes. I heard that. If I wasn't relaxed, I would have said panicked which I didn't.
As a Flames fan, I'm feeling great. The expectations for us were like to be a bottom 10, and we're in a playoff position. Wolf is playing great, and we're getting good results from most of our players.
Rangers game should be fun! If they can win that I’d be pleasantly surprised, but honestly it might not be that big of an upset considering the rangers have been kinda faltering lately.
Rangers game should be fun! They’ve been hitting some rough patches so a win there is within reach! It would be fun if they get another win streak going.
Flames play well when I watched this year and last.
That a team whose record is 7-7-5 can be called .500 is still the biggest scam of the Bettman era.
g'day shannon ,, as a utah coyote fan , [ they'll always be our az. coyotes] hard working young lads mostly, the excitement has ebbed from opening weeks = 3-0 start , 4-8-3 since ,reality is setting in for utah club, realistically they will have 75 points +/- , we will see how staunch the folks in utah are as the season goes along , fair weather or actual hockey fans thru thick and thin.
Would you be able to do a video explaining how the draft lottery works?
I love the panic index as it is
I don't know what sorcery or alchemy Eric Tulsky is whipping up but for a math guy, he sure seems to understand hockey.
Funny you put the Rangers on the top row. So many Rangers fans I feel are in panic mode because they are not 17-0-0 with 0 GA.
As a rangers fan cant keep relying on goaltending the top guys are not playing hard looks at times they dont want to backcheck
Yes VGK are 6 games above .500 but the amount of goals they give up is concerning. It’s a good thing they’ve been scoring a lot or the record could be worse. Not quite panicking but a little nervous if the scoring drops
@@VGK2017 welp after the TOR game
@ was a good game. Woll was a wall. Have to give him credit. I thought VGK carried most of the play except for the 3rd period
As an Islander fan I feel panicked because we have choked third period leads on a consistent basis for the last two seasons. Farm is pathetic and at best they are a WC2 that only gets in due to lower points.
Pens fan. I want us looking for the draft the next three years.
Carlsson for draft picks?😅
Well done very fair.
As a Vegas fan, I'm kinda panicking. Goaltending has been shaky
Its not fair to panic with that record though. Mild concern yes but not panic.
For me, it's that they're a different team with both Hague and Stone out. Plus, they can't beat a playoff team on the road or now at home. Not sure they belong 6th in the weekly power rankings.
@@carlgemlich1657 I agree. Maybe still top 15 but definitely not 6th. Stone is a big loss. Defense is not looking good ATM
Guaranteed boston still ends up ahead of Toronto in April. Said as a leaf fan
Where do I get that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy sweater???
Ducks fans that have attributed their lack of effort to Fowler are feeling pretty smart. They have won 4 of 6 since he went on IR. Not getting stuck in our zone because we won’t engage has ended in the last 5 games. We have looked like a normal team.
Detroit is to high. What the heck Yzerman?
Nice sweater Don't Panic.
Life long bruins fan and I'm disgusted by the franchise currently. They fire Monty when the real issue is cam Neely and don sweeny
How can the thunderdome of the metro (sans pittsburgh) be EVEN WORSE than it was 5-10 years ago?
M’y predictions of Atlantic Division of Death seem to have been off. Mid-lantic division more like it.
Worst inter-divisional record in the NHL.
Honestly, for the Blues, I am currently at the anger stage. Panic is fair, but the last several games have been very frustrating. Just enough to make it look like they’re going to compete and then splat.
Agreed. Looking like a finish below the playoff line, and above the lottery line. Again, so angry feels about right.
