thanks for the video, loved it as always ! For me PVE allowed me to actually enjoy tarkov. It's easier for me as someone that can't really dedicate so many hours "getting good", plus I am on the older side of gaming and my reflexes aren't what they used to be. PVE is a bit more predictable (and doesn't wipe) so that's a big plus for me.
It's more respectful of my time, because tarkov can be quite punishing and you, most of the time, make a net loss when getting killed : losing gear, not completing tasks... I know it's part of the appeal, it's also a big deterrent for many players.
The AI needs some balancing and more brains, SPT is way better in that regard, hopefully nikita goes stealing that mod files and replicate some of it in live PVE tarkov.
Hopefully PVE brings back some old players that just stopped caring for the game because it's too extreme, and maybe they will find their way back to PVE.

PvE respects your time more. No cheaters, short raid loading times, and no wipe. From what I see PvE has been a hit with people like myself, people who have done several wipes of PvP and find the cheaters, and rush to max rep detracts from the experience if you only have limited time. That being said, nothing gets adrenaline running like the fights you can have in PvP!

@@AzBA11in1 Skill issue on the part of the developers maybe. Why does their shit game take 3 hours to load each game? You keep saying skill issue. Are you saying I'm bad at loading? And you talk about honesty but all you're doing is repeating "skill issue" while ignoring the load time issues and the cheaters. You just make some shit up to dismiss people because you don't like that people are criticizing a game you like. It's a very childish mindset from someone who probably plays too many video games. The way you repeatedly claim to be very good at video games as if that matters to adults is... telling. You don't have a job, do you? Also, you're not Southern. Don't say "Y'all". Honesty. I said that PvP will always give the adrenaline rush that PvE will not give, however for those that enjoy the atmosphere and gameplay cycle of Tarkov, but lack time to really invest in a wipe (and let's face it, you need to commit hundreds of hours each wipe to excel) the PvE mode satisfies that need.

Simply the fact that I can go to work or on a vacation and come back and the game will be the same difficulty as when I put it down means I can enjoy the Tarkov experience at my own pace. You're disconnected from the people that genuinely fit better with a PvE experience due to work load, slower internet connections and perhaps even disabilities. PvP is certainly more thrilling, but that thrill will always be there.

I'm someone who has played through 6 diffent wipes, getting to at least level 30 each time. Sure that's not max traders or anywhere near kappa/lightkeeper, but it's nothing to sneeze at either for someone who usually plays solo. I moved to PVE not due to difficulty, but because of time. From my perspective, PvE being too easy or too difficult for players is not the meat of why players are in PvE to begin with.
Cheaters, they come and go, eventually get dealt with. Tarkov's server infrastructure and queuing systems have taken too much time from me. I agree with how struggling is an amazing teacher, but when the process of "git gud" involves some of the consistantly worst queue times I have seen in the gaming industry with a posibility of being sent back to stash in the first few minutes, the quality of life for playing the game starts to hit.
Solo PvE allowing me to instantly play, quickly learn from mistakes, I adore it. Not wiping is also a bonus in my eyes, because it means I don't have to be married to Tarkov. So I get to enjoy the feel of one of the most interesting gun mechanics in gaming, at my own pace, and be allowed to go play any other game I am interested in without falling behind the rest of the community, PvE is fantastic.
Don't get me wrong, I will join the wipe hype, and am very interested in what I can do in Arena at the start of wipe. But when the hype dies down, PvE will always be there for me to scratch the itch.

Usually I think Lew has some good takes, this one, however, I can't support and it's shortsighted in the same vein as he's talking about. When PVE people get the best gear and the most fun they can out of PVE, they'll look for something else, maybe that's PVP, maybe it's another game, but more people playing Tarkov is not a bad thing for the game as a whole. As for the early content rushing, I can agree with that, and I think an easy solution is just delay the content release for PVP maybe a week or two like he says, which I don't think most PVE players would have a problem with, a small, probably vocal, minority maybe. As Lew himself says "If I'm not upsetting someone on the other end of the computer, making them angry or upset, I'm not getting satisfaction" and that's great for him and other people that feel that way *that's why you have PVP*. I play video games to have fun, destress from work, chill and kick back, maybe drink a beer or something, Tarkov PVE is just that right amount of challenging to be fun but not sweaty and frustrating like PVP, I respect his take, but I think it comes from a place of "I can play this game for 8-10 hours a day" and a lot of us don't have that time to commit to getting really good at a video game just to survive *sometimes*.

Cheaters, sweats, inconsistency in gameplay, and crap load times is why PVE is popular. Until BSG addresses the bullshit, PVP will always fall under the wipe loop of people playing the beginning and then leaving. This was my first wipe, and i made it to around lvl 40 something. PVE is fun.

This is a great point. No reason for me to play Tarkov late wipe when I can only play a few hours a week. Couple that with the long pre-raid prep and load times (which is honestly the worst part of the game) and PVE is a breath of fresh air. However, I agree with Lew. It’s too easy. PVE lacks the tension and excitement of PvP. Those aspects do make Tarkov one of a kind. I do plan on playing PvP again for wipe.

Yeah I have zero interest in standard PVP Tarkov. I get how people who have tons of time to sink into this game would find the experience of learning to play Tarkov rewarding, but personally I just find it frustrating to the point of no fun. The ratio of time spent in game vs time spent actually in raid is ABSURD and trying to learn a game when every hour of game time is like 10 minutes of actual raid time is nearly impossible for someone who only really has time to play for a few hours at a time on the weekends. Spending a whole night of my minimal free time just to get a grand total of like 30 minutes in-raid where I mostly just get insta-clapped by some dude I had virtually zero chance of spotting is the polar opposite of rewarding.
Frankly I have zero interest in standard PVE Tarkov, either, when SPT already exists and is better in every measurable way even with nothing but bare minimum mods.

I'll provide my experience as a former PvP player turned current PvE player. I had stopped playing PvP a couple of years ago mostly because I got burned out with the wipe cycle. The promise of no wipes was the primary motivating factor for me to come back for PvE. Tarkov was (and is) my favorite game, but as someone who worked full time (or more) and prioritizes family, I don't have much time left over to game. So I never got to experience much of the Tarkov endgame before it would wipe, there was always content I felt I would never reach. PvE provides me the space I need to pursue the game at my own pace as I have time, knowing that it will always be there if I need to take time off for IRL stuff. For the first time I have level 4 traders, I've built my solar power, my bitcoin level 3, etc., I'm running Labs, and I've even got my eyes set on getting Kappa one day, which was something I just kind of laughed off before.
That said, I am starting to see what will happen when I get to a point where there's not much left to chase. I'm not bored yet, but I can foresee a day where I do get bored. But then that's my motivation to start over and play PvP. I can hop on PvP at the start of a wipe and enjoy that early game experience again, knowing I have PvE to return to whenever I need. PvE will be my persistent character, PvP can be my "seasonal" character.
I do enjoy not having to deal with cheaters and exit campers in PvE, that is glorious. But there is something really satisfying about a true PvP experience knowing that you outplayed another human being on the other side. Both are going to hold my attention at different times for different reasons, and I want for both to succeed.

To your comment that more people will go to PvE should A, B, or C, happen: have you consideered asking yourself the question, what does that say about PvP right now?
You come at this thinking PvE is meant for new players. Not even BSG themselves believe that, and they begrudgingly released PvE behind an initial $250 pay wall. PvE wasnt meant to train players up for PvP. It was meant to be an attempt to bring players back to the game who asked for this for a long time that otherwise wouldnt have returned, or kept playing SPT (which is still leagues better). Mod compatibility and private server functionality with the base game would ascend EFT to a greatest of all time level status if you asked me. Frankly, both of the things combined would not only assist BOTH versions of the game's playerbase, but take even more of a load off BSG from the frankly already very little content improvement they do to the game every year.
You SAY you arent meaning to alienate players that want to enjoy PvE, but your words state the exact opposite when you tell us you want to see end game content time gated behind PvP release.
Do you know the real answer to you being upset about data miners revealing new content on the update's release? Not consuming the internet media sources that puts out information on it. Instead of gatekeeping content from me, a PvE enjoyer, YOU can decide to make the concious decision not to spoil the new endgame content for yourself.

Honestly before I tried PvE I was one of the people that didn't understand why anyone would ever play PvE. But after playing it and coming back to PvP I just can't be bothered anymore. The insanely long load times, the crazy desync and lag in every fight, constantly getting ratted or cheated on, the annoyances just stack up. It's just not worth it if you can get 80% of the experience in PvE where all those problems aren't a thing.
Believe me I love myself some good PvP, but most interactions with other players in Tarkov are not good PvP interactions. If I really want to fight other players there are games that offer a way better experience to do just that.

Let me start with a little bit of background. I've played since alpha and all the way up to patch .12 I took a few years break after graduating high school, and life got in the way, of course. Now that im a bit more steady, I've come back to gaming. My friend one day asked me if i wanted to try the pve thing a few weeks back. I begrudgingly agreed, and wow, my love for tarkov reignited after i played a few raids. So im a little bit out of the loop, but im not a fortnight kid that craves a dumbed down and simple game. With all due respect, you sounded like of like the stereotypical boomer towards the end with "Well, i struggled, so should you!" type energy. I dont mean to be rude, but what im saying is that the experience that you love isn't the experience that everyone else will love. I dont think patches should be staggered because it seems crazy to me that a patch would be gatekept from people who play a particular mode that you dont. I understand that PvE players will get instant access to the new stuff in a patch, and it could "spoil" it for other players. But we are humans with free will. If you dont wanna have something spoiled, then dont watch pve content creators or go on the wiki to look at all the new stuff and the stats ect. To be honest, i dont plan on returning to pvp anytime soon because i just dont have the time and patience to dedicate to pvp tarkov anymore. When i get home from work i wanna be able to crack a beer, and play some tarkov without hackers, dsync, getting snuck up on because of an audio bug, or any of the other countless pain points of tarkov. Sure, some of those problems can certainly exist in PvE, but far far far less. And to finish off what has become an essay, I'd say that PvE isn't going to kill tarkov, i hope not at least. But the devide that I've seen is just plain silly and childish. Anyone who has distain for PvE players because they stopped playing PvP is just silly. I think that if people are enjoying PvE more than PvP, then so what. I think people should be able to play whatever they want to, because at the end of the day we just want to have fun. I believe its selfish and inconsiderate to be frustrated that other people are having more fun with pve, and they aren't in PvP to fill up the raids, but they have an overall less enjoyable experience. To clarify, im not saying that you said this stuff. Im just addressing things I've heard. And I ran out of typing energy. Thanks for reading if you did.

In my Opinion, I don't think streamers really get to have a word on PVE. They get to play the game a their job and subsequently be the best but what about the people that can only play 2 hours a day if that? They will never get to see the end game content ever. I think the argument is kind of idiotic honestly, the reason I say this is people playing pve don’t want to play PvP. They are going to not play at all, play spt or play another game like you said. This isn’t a division of player base it’s giving a player base who didn’t enjoy PvP a way to enjoy the experience that is tarkov. While I can see arguments to be made and agree with certain points it’s less a split of player base and more actually increasing the player base and once people get comfortable with pve they are probably more likely to transition to PvP.

I doubt youll see this but you said lets have a conversation in the comments so I will. I watch most of your vids and mostly agree with your takes. But in this case I think your take is lacking. You never considered someone like me or my best friend. We both learned the game when we had more time to grind on PVP, we both achieved endgame multiple times. So I agree with the part that nothing but PVP will give you that true Tarkov experience, the feelings of anxiety in a bush when you hear chads stomping around you not even daring to breathe because you finally got that task item. But we dont have as much time anymore, he got a son, I got a promotion and Im proposing, and can only play the early game of EFT if we get lucky that the wipe falls on when we have time and on top of that we can never get anywhere close to endgame within the same wipe. So PVE gives us the opportunity to experience EFT at our own pace again and finally get somewhere and not be pressured or rushed and thus turned away from the game. Before PVE we barely played the game anymore. And honestly the only options where get lucky and enjoy a bit of early game, or just dont play the game at all. Because for the little time we do have to play... Its really pointless to spend it on infuriating fights against chads with us only having penis helms and 855 or some shit ammo. Just running from spawn and getting out geared all the time is really not the essence of Tarkov either in my mind. And in this case EFT was able to keep a player instead of losing one.

I also have 4k hours and played several wipes by now, I love the game and have made so many friends playing and learning it, what I have heard and why so many switch to PVE isn't about rats, campers, chads, or lack of knowledge of the game. It is all about time and cheaters, ALL of my friends have either walked away completely or switched to PVE or SPT.
Time: if you have put hours and hours into multiple wipes and completed hard quests over and over that takes time and people are kind of over the grind including all the nerfs over the years to the game to make the wipe last longer rather than make it better through questing changes etc
Cheaters: Whatever anyone has to say does not matter cheating sucks and people are tired of it. When you add everything I stated about and combined it with dealing with cheaters the game is not enjoyable.
Summary: Look at the time factor, I'm sitting over 4k hours and im over dying to a rat, large groups of PMC's then deal with cheaters on top of all of that, I ask myself why am I playing this grind for the same thing again when alot of friends have moved on because of all of these topics i bring up above so we switch or leave.

What I think is good about PVE is that it allows you to experience everything about Tarkov that you may not get to as a brand new player. Especially one who may be new to FPS in general. It allows you to learn maps, healing, traders, questing, and all other things that older players take for granted. The game is not the same in it's current state as it was 5yrs ago. PVE allows the new player a chance to learn the game at their own pace so that when they feel like tipping their toes into PVP, they are better prepared.

I'm completely uninterested in PvP anymore. I'm 41; I've played competitive shooters online since I was 15. I have a life outside of video games and if I'm going to do something I suck at, it's not going to be a video game, it's going to be a hobby like woodworking that will actually be useful. I don't want to spend my free time grinding a video game, I want to spend it enjoying video games. Especially with Tarkov, where so much time is spent waiting (waiting for the hideout to load, waiting for traders' items to load, waiting to load into a raid, waiting for the main screen to load after a raid). Waiting all that time, loading into a PvP raid and then dying to a cheater or someone who has more free time to invest in the game than me is a waste of my time.
The current meta of online FPS game (quickplay style where you are placed in a server by the game, the only control you have over your teammates is if you put together a group, and there's no incentive to do anything but be self-centered) doesn't afford itself for people with a life. Back in the day, you would join a dedicated community server with people you played with regularly and knew. You would play a few games, have fun, talk to the people you knew, and log off. You could still enjoy CS 1.3 if you sucked at it if you were in a server with people you knew. Now, you have to invest time (into a video game) to be able to enjoy it.

The reason for content gating is you avoid spoilers for a period of time. All the try-hards on YT are going to publish videos within hours if the content isn’t gated that potentially ruins discovery for them. For the average Tarkov player, maybe this isn’t a big deal, but there’s something fun about discovering or experiencing something for the first time. This is really his point.

Making the game insufferable for newer players is whats dangerous for it, saying that pve needs to be endgame locked just fucks over an untold amount of players who 1. Dont enjoy having to sacrifice something in their lives just to make time to keeo up with live pvp progression, 2. The cheater epidemic that has seen no fucking slowing, 3. A lot of people just domt enjoy playing pvp against people who know every map like the back of their hand and every little head glitch pixel peak spot losing hours of time and millions of roubles in kits. Your personal preference for pvp is fine, but advocating for people who dont enjoy the pvp be forced to play pvp to get endgame content like lightkeep because you THINK pve robs them of having an enjoyable tarkov experience is tone deaf. And i havent heard people asking fot pve to be made easier, all I've heard was for the bugs to be fixed like PMC ai and scavs not being on the same team making maps like factory feel insufferable at times.

PvE captured the working class. I would argue sweats and exit campers aren’t even the biggest issues. Systems like FIR really hurt the people who don’t get to run 20 raids a day. Collection quests like flash drives suck because if you put your last one in your ass and die, you’re still stuck. FIR should be changed to “not bought off traders or flea market.” Cheaters suck not just from a dying perspective, but how can a working class gamer expect to get high value items when there are cheaters on top of sweats? They’re supposed to be content with mid tier hardware loot?

Hey Lew, I really like how you described your experience with PvE and why you like the PvP side better. As someone who has almost exclusively played PvE since its release, I really enjoy how laid back it is. I have thousands of hours in other PvP games as well as hundreds of hours in Trakov PvP. No matter how much I play PvE I still have that itch to piss someone off on the PvP side of the game. Right before PvE was available to everyone, I played some PvP with a friend and got 3/4 kills in and around Fortress on Customs. Having the pain of dying to the spots I killed people at made it so much fun to translate my polished game mechs from PvE into rage for the other person in PvP.
TLDR: Go through the initial hardships in PvP, polish game knowledge and mechs in PvE, return to PvP with a better understanding to drop your nuts on Timmies chins and maybe kill a juicer or two along the way.
Fantastic vid as well bro 👍

if a game can take up to 1k hours to get good at, you completely remove the ability for new gamers, that also have a life outside of the computer, to get invested. This game is on top of that extremely punishing and dying much may mean many many many scav runs to get any sort of gear. Scav runs also having a cooldown of 30min no matter if you got survived that raid or not meaning that you might still have no rubles, no gun for pmc and needed to wait 30 min to play the fking game again.
It is kinda insane just how hardcore this game is and I am not surprised it is fun for giga sweats and streamers, and even for filthy cheaters. Every kill you get with "ease" might be a more casual gamer's last kit and death meaning no more progress for 30min and that might end up being the last time before needing to log off the computer to get ready for work tomorrow.
When sweats then says "Everyone should HAVE TO go through what I did", then sounds insane and I say, "Enjoy the game dying"

Hey Lew. Filthy casual here. I love PVP Tarkov. HOWEVER. At the start of wipe, I fall behind quickly because I do not have the 8 hours straight to dedicate at pretty much any point. I'm then left with access to low pen ammo and gear deficiencies. There are 'strategies' to down players and get better gear. But even then I'm limited to whatever ammo they didn't jam in their container. And honestly, I hate playing like a rat. Add to that chems and skills. I simply cannot keep up. I've been on the SPT train for a while. I've really enjoyed it. I've also seen the WILD improvements to the game via mods. To include making the AI WAY WAY WAY smarter. I prefer Tarkov to be difficult in a tactics sense. Not a logistics sense. Scrubbing a PMC that's pushing me with a 6 pixel lean peak is definitely satisfying. Fighting off the scav army is also intense. I see PVE as a gateway into pvp. And no matter which way you choose, you still paid for the game. Which is what BSG is aiming for. We aren't paying a subscription. BSG needs to make money. If you love Tarkov and want to see it survive, let the PVE Eddies pay for the game. I agree that PVE should be a full content release behind PVP. You are absolutely correct that there is no reason PVE should get new content at the same time. PVE is absolutely easier. Which is why mods should be allowed. Don't ever admit to it. But try out SPT with the SAIN upgrades and a couple additional ai behavior mods. Additionally, almost any mechanic you have been begging for in Tarkov for years is available via SPT mods. BSG doesn't need to experiment to make a better game. Just watch what mods become popular and implement that. "Modding the game ruins the experience and will ultimately ruin the game!" Tell that to the Skyrim community.

You have a pretty interesting view on PvE and I respect that. I wanted to say something about why PvE actually benefits Tarkov as a whole, but every argument for and against that has already been made by others ^^ So instead I'm gonna try to compare my experience in online EFT with the game, or better: a mod, that I switched to afterwards - SPT.
Downsides of playing offline are that you don't get the interaction with other real people, so your experience won't ever be as natural or special as it can be online. But that's basically the only downside I've experienced throughout 3,200+ hours combined. Upsides are (what many people already pointed out) are the absence of cheaters, loading times, server stability, basically what makes the game enjoyable. Plus in SPT you get the opportunity to use mods that can possibly improve your experience in many ways if you don't overdo it. Things like SAIN improve so much on the AI that it feels like you're actually playing against real players, with some of them using advanced combat techniques to flank you - something that EFT's own PvE mode doesn't seem to succeed at.

But, if you talk at around 54:00 about the struggle the PvE experience doesnt give you, i replaced the word Tarkov with torture. Like : " They will never feel the torture i got out of the 1000 hours of Tarkov. Yeah mate, maybe i dont want to get tortured by a game. I played 3 WIpes now PVP Tarkov and i am tired of cheaters. I am tired of loot sucking cheaters. i am too old for that shit. And you could say: " Yeah then Tarkov is simply not for you". But if there was a way where i could enjoy Tarkov and you could enjoy it as well? MAybe with splitting it in the casual fun with friends PvE mode and the sweaty PvP mode. The only reason against that is, that you wont get victims on the PvP servers. And do you know what happens when i am done with all the COntend on PvE? Maybe i will switch to PvP then. Maybe PvE is the toturial of Tarkov. And maybe i have fun experience the Contend on lvl 40 and ov er that, because on PvP i was sick and tired of the shit that Jäger wants me to do against PMCs.
No hate, just the Pov from a 34 year old Noob who enjoys PvE with his friends :)

I played Tarkov for every wipe from 2018- late 2021 and then stopped. After a 3 year break, I started playing again in PVE. I’m absolutely loving it. It needs a lot of work to be polished, especially the horde mode scavs and goon spawn rate. I’d love to see the PMC’s actually engage each other in firefights, at least on a Bear vs USEC basis. The bosses should also engage PMC’s. it would bring it more in line with the PVP experience and imo, make it the game better. I absolutely agree that the PVE mode needs some sort of seasonal update, allowing players to do more quests etc. overall, a great addition though.

Gear diff is too much in this game.
High level players with meta gear ruin "casual" players experiance (imagine shooting BB's on an M1 Abrams). This is funless, and this could be the reason why PVE is being played more than expected...
The gear balance in this game exists only with Rubbles and traders levels. This is not a good balance logic and the real sized plates was great to make EVERYONE a threat!
The vast majority of the player base says "Tarkov is a hardcore FPS shooter" but this is not true in the mid/late wipe for some people when they are with T5/T6 gear and high pen ammo for every raid.
-An enemy scav? That's a joke.
-A boss ? There is no problem when you know how to take him off.
-A low level player? Did you think he's gonna win the bingo with the famous "Spray and pray"?
-A mid tier player ? A threat yeah but with my "skill" I can miss some shots and still win even he has a thorax aimbot!
-A high geared player? A mirror match!
I know the previous armor system with real sized plates needed some tweaks and balancing but it was a step in the RIGHT direction for the game!
The meta is so restricted! 5-10% of the gear and ammos are playable in a game with a bunch of content ! That's so sad.
So BSG please... Do something to fix this massive issue in this awesome game! Thank You.

wipe hype 07👍i see what you mean by tarkov as a whole being affected by pve and i agree. with that said i think what most people mean by pve is "too hard" is that 1- non stop head/face one taps with no indication somethings about to happen, no audio q's, no miss fires or if there is its one by your head and the next is between your eyes is the main issue. peek once ok peek twice is 9 times out of 10 is certain death 2- the ai most times end up locking you in a corner runnning you out of ammo/meds with no way out they just keep coming 1 after the next 3- the ai vary rarely fight eachother leaving 5 scavs and 2 pmc's staring in your direction and you end up forcing them to come down a hallway just to kill them all..im sure i missed some other stuff like being beamed through windows across the map but..i think i speak for most when i say this, its not the actual difficulty of the ai that is the problem its the ai in general they are terrible and are littly glued to you the player, pvp is much easier in this aspect and the terrrible ai aren't noticed as bad because there simply is just less ai in pvp now to fix this it is very simple bsg owns the game we know that part. spt is a mod.. so is realism mod.. reworks for ai.. bsg needs to just copy and paste how ever they feel is right and be done the ai you can have in spt are the best ive ever witnessed to the point it feels so much better than pve they adapt, they move, they hide, they move around the map in ways that make sense among so much more and in most cases are far more fun to fight than actuall pvp the fix really is not that hard they know how to do it they just need to do it.

Second, where was the chat for the intro? We worked so hard…😢
Third, I don’t have time to progress an account in a 6-8 month wipe to end game content. PVE allows me a chance to see end game content, even though I know it’s not the same as in a PVP mode.
Fourth, A modded version of EFT exists already. Yes, it’s a risk, but people play that now. If you want to play it, you can. Bringing in official mod support will only help PVP mode be better!
Fifth, I don’t know that gating content makes sense, unless it’s a delayed patch - like 2-3 months behind PVP. Then that’s ok. However, I doubt many people will use PVE to try and generate YT clicks successfully. Sure, people will try, but at the end of the day it’s just clickbait.

I started playing pve 2 weeks ago. I’m level 31, with strength and endurance at level 8 with LL3 unlocked traders, almost max highdout (just need range l3, moonshine and more gpus for my bitcoin farm) and I’m excited for my shooting range and library to finish.constructing for those sweet sweet bonuses.
pve’s a blast. really satisfying to grind having the knowlodge that all of the threats are boys. they’re not gonna fuck with you head (excep for birdeye.
looting is a lot safer, and i think looting in this game is so much fun. definitely one of my top 5. but you also get pushed a lot and find a buncha rats in buildings. so the Pve is there. fights aren’t that fun atm, but as i get stims remember how to play, it’s getting to be a lot of fun.
They could to fix some issues:
    - goons probably shouldnt spawn as often as they do
    - pmcs and scavs should ALWAYS agro. so annoying being in a fight and watching a scav team up with a pmc and push me the pmcs should easily drop scavs so it should be fine
-pmc spawns are annoying, they spawn at the locations already, and sometimes i think ive watched them spawn. i think they should spawn closure to player spawn points so we could beat them there and then they have to push me
    - SO. MANY. ENEMIES. it’s kinda fine tho, pve wouldnt be fun if u didnt get to kill like 20 things every raid. i think they should add a system where bosses pull up on u when there’s a bunch of bodies. could be neat
put a thousand hours into this game a couple years ago, came back bc EOD includes pve. just cant be fucked with tarkov pvp honestly. it’s nixe but the game is soul eating, pve makes it far more relaxed.
i think there should be certain endgame items that you could use to improve your main account to a capped level. maybe if u get kappa, you can trade it in for lvl 15 and lvl 2 traders? and all the easy hideout stuff is done this makes it so they’re still mostly timmys, but they dont have to sit through the gruel of latewipe while they’re brand new, just a little boost for their confidence and so they can get better armor and ammo. and getting kappa would teach then how to play the game really well.
def could argue about how much progress they get from it. but i think that would be better to bring PVE players into TARKOV. i dont think capping content is right tho, and i dont think bsg will do it. bc it $20 on top of tarkov. staggering post wipe is a yes tho. maybe giving pce players community goals to eventually unlock it similarly to how the PVP players progress

So here’s the issue with the idea of content blocking. Originally the PvE content was blocked behind a $250 paywall. It’s tough to argue the content should be held behind a $50 base games allowed content.
I also agree the content is easy to obtain to finish the entire hideout; minus Military Power Filters. I’m about 14 quests from Kappa myself and my buddy just hit it.
And also as you can tell Lew, those PMCs either have aimbot or they’re so stupid they let you hit them in the head with a shovel
That being said. I did PvP until about level 20. My computer isn't a powerhouse and my frames were not good. I couldn't even load Streets so I never even went there. PvP does have an issue where cheaters and good legit players are hard to decipher. For new players, eventually they just group everyone as cheating because they don't get a chance to learn the game with good players and actual cheaters ruining the experience. When a game gets to a point you feel like you die to a cheater in each death, it gets demoralizing and eventually they lose interest in dealing with that mindset. "Not everyone you die to is cheating and not everyone you die to is a legit good player," but due to the way you die in this game it's impossible to tell. If there was a killcam, you could assess your death better. "Oh that cover isn't actually cover, that guy was in a good spot I didn't know about, let me check that next time." It's extremely hard to learn when every death, after waiting 10 mins to queue into the game feels like a cheater because good players can kill you in ways you haven't even learned yet early on.
It would be nice if they could deploy a system that actually worked for anti-cheat and could confidently say 80%-90% of the cheating is gone. Then it's impossible to sit there and lump everyone into that category of "they're cheating."

Can find salewas in room 3, right next to room 4 on GZ by the lab where you grab the quest item. They spawn on the table covered in blood, as well as the table on the other side of the wall. Possible orange med bag aswell.
Edit: Posted this before he hit the room c:

I played two wipes of pvp, kinda took time off tarkov because I was very garbage, got back with pve and might give pvp a go come wipe. maybe I'll make it past level 26 which was the furthest I got in any pvp wipe.
i can definitely see what you mean with pve missing some of that struggle, and if i hadn't got some experience on the main game to start with, i don't think it could have been as effective in teaching me the things i wanted to use pve to improve upon

was a bad player on pvp but I mostly agree with your take. I love and was addicted because of the complexity, the difficulty, the nerve wracking, no other game gave such physical reactions, when I stalked my pray I got sweaty hands, heart beat up... in a fucking game. Haven't experienced anything like this except for maybe when I played system shock 1 in the 90s as a teen. sadly no wipe hype o7 for me, got a life now ;)
