Would love to hear your take on wether he may be a narcissist or not
His videos are so bad! Totally cringe as he talks about himself in third person while holding his wife’s hand like he’s a bear trap. He’d be great fun to watch Derek analyze.
I know this sounds cliche, but I think my ex-husband is a psychopath. He has all the classic symptoms. He's also a narcissist. When I asked him questions about why he stole something, he'd say, "I don't know! I might have taken it!" He once took our kid's birthday money. I told him he had to pay it back. His answer "I don't owe her ANYTHING!" My question, "Where were you?" His answer: "Why don't you trust me?!" A conversation we had when we were separated: Him: "Do you still love me?" Me: "No." Him: "Come on, Rosalyn." Me: "No, actually, I don't!" Him: "I think you do, you just don't want to admit it." Me: "If that's what makes you feel better, dude!" Notice, he never once said he still loved me. Yeah, I think he was a bit of a psychopath and still is one. When I told him his mom was sick with congestive heart failure, his answer was: "GOOD! I hope she dies from it!"
Check out "Live Abuse Free", her channel is excellent, and you might gain some insight on your own situation, too. She rips the mask off of "nice guys" who try to make you doubt yourself.
I have a friend whose ex-husband is a sociopath. The explanation and description would be way too long, but after four years of knowing him I can confidently say I have never met anyone personally who would come even close to the cruelty and evil of this sadistic man who enjoys his own cruelty and the sorrow and pain he causes other people while remaining outwardly civil and "pleasant". Actually, even the world "evil" sounds corny when it's associated with him. It's like he lacks every quality that could possibly make him a human being. Now I understand what people mean when they call someone a demon in human skins. I also understand now when people say someone has dead eyes. It's like his soul has turned into dark empty energy and there is nothing but that behind his eyes. Looking in them is like looking at the eyes of a corpse.
Maybe I’m wrong but I’ve assumed my dad is a psycho/socio. He fakes his emotions, when he “cries” there is never ONE tear, not one. My whole 22 years of life I have not seen him truly cry, only fake cry then drops the act almost immediately after. My dad also beat up my brother, kam, one night years ago because kam told my mom that he caught my dad cheating. Which was later confirmed to be true. And my sister said she couldn’t even recognize my dad while he was beating everyone up. She was scared at the look in his eyes. It was pure blind rage
my father is just like this! he fakes his emotions to manipulate my mother into staying with him. too bad, my mom gets easily swayed no matter what i say 🙄
@@winrinasaur my dad did that as well.. he even moved the whole family to a different state to “start over again”. Then as soon as the moving truck was emptied he went back to his old state to reunite with his mistress 😒 in and out energy. I know someone who does the very same thing. They are moving to Texas, after her being forced to sleep in the garage, he claimed that he has changed to get her back. Everyone told her no, she did it. He also likes getting a rise out of her. Here are some straight facts, if someone says “I’ve changed.” Doesn’t matter if they’ve actually changed, (They haven’t) GET. THE. FUCK. OUT. If they’re a normal person, they’ll get over it and move on, if a psychopath, you’ve made your life better by 1000%.
This is so sad. He was severly misguided. He could have been a supermodel, comedian, poet, actor, or writer. Instead he decided to join the dark side. He never developed his true talents.
The interviewer is Mike Watkiss, he was a newscasters forever here is Arizona. He just retired a few years back. I didn't know he did this interview, thanks for sharing!
"He was caught by an angry mob who chased him down in the street. They beat him relentlessly until the police dragged him away." That's how they do in LA, I can totally see that happening xD
What if you did a body language video on yourself? Or had a third party do it? I’m sure someone has recommended this before. You seem to be a very animated person. I think it would be pretty entertaining.
He could have Logan from the Observe channel do a read on him! And then Derek could do a read on Logan! They're both amazing body language analysts, with their own individual style and I think it would be awesome to have them read each other! 😄
He seems a bit of a jerk to me for some reason, like when he was talking about the girl and her mom who called him a project. He came off as insensitive and rude. But he would be an interesting person to read.
Did you consider when he was “looking outside” he was visually consulting with his lawyer for a “yes you can” or “no you can’t answer that” head shake? Just a theory
@@marcosfortunato2965 I hear you loud and clear on that. However, he clearly was taking advice from his counsel as evidenced by his statement “I can’t answer that question due to my appeals”. Yes, he’s a narcissist psychopath, but you have to consider the fact that his main goal is to get back out and continue killing. So tiptoeing in interviews and following his attorney’s advice (in select situations, of course) could be part of his plan. His end goal is to stay a free man. So he might not even think of taking advice from his lawyer as a hit to the ego. He could totally see his lawyer as his lifeline to freedom. I can absolutely see both angles though
@@47ccarte totally agree with you mate. Despite his ego and narcissistic attitude he Will definetly consider hearing his lawyer so he could continue with his killing Streak. And as You said is not a matter of losing power but more of knowing what it is Best for him to get free. Cheers bro!

Yes I have! What shocks me most is their lack of empathy, they wouldn't feel remorse if they hurt someone in their family. I would die of guilt if my mom asked me to go get bread, for example, and I said no, but they will blissfully continue doing whatever and even get irritated if "mom" insisted they help. We have one in our family that I'm not related to, and I'm a nurse, soon to be a therapist so I warned them about this irrational behavior.of his. His relatives denied it, turns out he beats his mother soon after I announce I won't be around him anymore.
When Richard is looking euphoric thinking whether or not he has emotions, I'm guessing he was remembering the high he got from his kills and knows he can't share that emotion!
I had no idea a neighborhood chased him down and captured him. I also had no idea sunglasses were allowed in court while the guilty party gives their statement...
He is not a psychopath he is a sociopath there's a difference. that's why we can see him feeling anger and rage. Psychopaths are completely devoid of emotion while sociopaths aren't.
I ended up dating two of them. All the text book traits. The first messed me up for a while because I was in high school. The other I was able to leave once I noticed the same behaviors. By then I've already done multiple papers on social and mental disorders and research.
20:16 that was a mind-blowing moment for me. Thank you for pointing out the distinct contradiction of merit. Our acknowledgement to virtues are nearly our pathologies altogether. I’ve been around a lot of this type of behavior and am typically very willing to point things out but you’ve put words to a previously more difficult situation.
I love this video about Richard Ramirez 😁 not going to lie he spit straight facts sometimes except he doesn't realize it doesn't help him nor is related to his situation
I am a student of face reading and you have given me so many wonderful frozen clips to study. Thank you so much Derek Van Schaik. I have studied about 40 facial traits that can be associated with narcissism.I'm sure these facial traits transfer right over to a psychopath/sociopath
It really seems like Richard found a philosophy book and memorized others ideas and is repeating them here. He has literally no insight or philosophy of his own. Fake, cowardly, and weak.
has anybody ever just walk in and stare at a psychopath. Then say "okay I got what I needed " then walk away. Few days later come back looking like they are only there because they were forced to and stay quite and focus on something else like reading ore playing on the phone. Make them talk first.
I bet that would make them SO mad! People like that HATE being ignored. And I bet if someone in a position of authority ignored them instead of interviewing them, it would definitely rattle the psychopath. I like your idea! 😁👍
Also put the Psychopath on a low stool while the ignorer/"alpha" in the situation is on a high dining chair to have the psychopath at a lesser level, making him feel less dominant. Pretty much any triggers that make the other people seem more than, it would tick the psychopath off like crazy. Might even get them to become more chatty, trying to regain control.
I feel like the ice truck killer in Dexter was made to look like The night stalker. I also think that he used to live at the hotel where Elisa Lam died
Dexter couldn’t feel emotions however he was taught some sort of „justice“. Hence he was only after other „serial killers“. His step dad recognized that young dexter was a psychopath and „channeled“ his evilness into do something “good”. Moral of the story: we can’t change a psychopath but we could train them into killing at least the parasites of this earth
I really hate how people with psychopathic tendencies are portrayed like serial killers and brutal murderers.. The fact that a lot of serial killers had these tendencies doesn't mean that everybody diagnosed with ASPD is a murderer. I am a psychopath myself and I don't have empathy for humans, that doesn't mean that I like killing people, that just means that I can kill somebody without regret but I'm not doing it because I don't want to ruin my life.. I still care about my friends because I see them as people who I can go out with and share my thoughts with (because of my condition, I don't understand romance and love, but I do understand sex and I see friendship as a tool for trust and better self-understanding and self-improvement). For the future I hope, I can find a way to care for unknown people as I do now for animals and I hope I can finish my education and start a life as a therapist (which is why I follow this channel, I see it as a way to improve my social understanding and learn about psychology and psychiatry) sorry for the broken English and the long monologue..
His attorney was standing outside the room and he was looking to him for direction when he answered about his guilt/appeals. He's literally reading a script to make himself seem more intelligent and/or well read.
I def have. My father was a psychopath on a low scale level. My first boyfriend was on a middle level, his smarts, logics and background didn't allow him to become a pro. Unfortunately my second boyfriend I recognised the eyes and fell in love with him. At that moment I still didn't understand psychopathy and my unfortunate attraction to it. I was 3 years with my second boyfriend and well I learned a lot. He was evil, in the eyes of any normal person with normal feelings he used me, abused me and picked me up throw me away like a piece of toilet paper. He was an egomaniac, egocentric u He never told one truth, not at the very end of our relationship. He played me like a fiddle. He was manipulative and would never answer a streight question. He played on my need to belive and not prey. When confronted he would just dissapier. Vague, avoidance and bullying are their tactics. I regret everyday of my life having belived at such a mask. He wore a mask and if things got to comfortable to close to his heart and right and wrong was at stake he would continue doing what was in his best interest. They feed on others. You put in 100 percent they live on that. No emotions no real love no understanding. They only love them self. Self serving, voracious bastard. High drive!
My x-husband...he destroyed my self-esteem in a very short time. I ran away after 6 months of marriage. It was awful and scary. Definitely a psychopath
I think it’s adorable but I’m quite similar when discussing something I’m very interested in so i could be biased my mother definitely is the same but more intense lol
I suspect my sister is a psychopath, every time I watch a video on the subject the first thing that comes to mind when describing characteristics, is her.
This dude like freaks me the fuck out so much it’s just the cold, dead eyes and the stare that he just gives off it’s so I can’t just like it’s too creepy
I'm a sociopath and on the low spectrum of psychopathy. I'm ,sometimes, afraid to become a bad person such as him and would often think of ending it all
Ramirez chased me for two blocks in March of 1985. It was around 3 am and it was terrifying. I ran to a friends house and her mom opened the door right as I turned and saw his big ugly eyes about 6 feet away from me. I’ll never forget that.
I left a sleep over at friends house to go another friends house around 3 am. He was sitting at a bus stop and as I walked nearby he stood up and stayed following me. I started to run and he started to run. As I reached my friends house I started yelling and banging on their door. My friends mom cracked the door open and I shoved it open. As I stood there banging on the door o looked behind me yo my right and he was 4 feet from woth with arms extended to grab me. I SAW HIS FACE and it was HIM.
I use to think he was handsome ( no I didn’t like him, I just thought it was strange how a handsome man could be so evil) until he smiled and I saw his rotten teeth 🎃😳
I saw a short doc. About a woman who had had a "penpal" type relationship with remerize. It was several years before he died. I hate I can't remember the name of it, but it was pretty much about their relationship and her getting ready to meet him for the first time after being pen pals together for a number of years. She was so enamored with him and like a little schoolgirl while talking about how in love she was with him. This, of course was well before she had met him. The interview or talked with her the day before she got to meet him and then a few days afterwards they met at a restaurant to talk and the woman had completely shifted her gears. Previously she had said she didn't feel frightened of him, she didn't feel like he would hurt her or anything along those lines... however, after she had met him her tune had totally changed. She lost that Getty look in her eye. She never disclosed what exactly all they talked about. But the documentary went on to say that she never wrote him back after that.... he wrote a ton of women in jail. I'll have to try to find the documentary if I do I'll edit this if anyone's interested and I'll put the name of it underneath this post... in fact, like I said he wrote a ton of women while on death row. I'm pretty sure there are still some UA-cam videos of women who wrote him and did a video about it. All you have to do is type out Richard Ramirez wrote me in the search bar, there are tons of UA-cam videos. Well there used to be anyway
Is it called in love with a serial killer? Foreign women who interviews missy? She says she went to meet him when he was in his 40s and he started masterbating and she never went back again? Missy said he had eyes like a shark
Eh. I don’t think he’s evil. I know someone who’s evil. They are charming. An “angel of light”. Beautiful. Everyone loves them. Then behind closed doors they are the most vicious human & make you feel crazy. Abuse you then convince you that you deserve it. And even that you mistreat them. I think he’s just crazy.
No he's evil clearly you didn't read the autopsy reports and what he did to those people. He lived a fucked up life too and it shaped him. The guy is smart and knows right from wrong but he deliberately chooses evil.
"When we re-babtize our evil qualities as our best qualities...." Fascinating stuff. I presume he's reciting that from another source but if he really came up with that on his own it's quite good.
Here’s my question. What if you showed this for example, to Richard Ramirez, this breakdown of him in this interview and then gave him another interview? Would he act different? Would he act the same but not ably more forced?
I feel like women could be attracted to the fact that he's mysterious. Also, like you said, they feel like they could fix him. Women might see just a small glimmer of kindness in him (even if it's just made up in their head) and think that he has hope. I haven't really looked into Richard much but this was super interesting. I don't think I've ever met a psychopath but when I was a kid I met a guy who ended up being a murderer like two years later. He was part of my church's youth group and I even remember him coming to our house. I was probably 10 or 11 and I remember thinking he was cute 😬. He ended up murdering a girl my age. He was 17 when he did it.
If you want to see his emotions, pay attention to them. He's frustrated, behind that stern exterior about his life and being in prison. But he's so immature and childish, that he can't seem to correlate his time in prison and the government trying to kill him, with his own actions. He doesn't know and understand that its wrong to kill people.
I'm really not sure if my ex girlfriend was a psychopath, sociopath, or borderline. She was calculating in her manipulations of others and she only bothered spending time with people who had something she wanted. She had a lot of addictive and criminal tendencies. She knew when she could get away with using violence and seemed pretty thrilled about talking about previous assaults she got away with. She loved to cheat and trick people. She would do cruel pranks. I didn't mention yet that she assaulted me multiple times to the point where I had to defend myself, and she became slightly injured - which she used as leverage against me. She stole $600 from her brother that was a fantasy football pool - and blamed her other brother who has autism, drug problems, etc. The dude pi55es into bottles and leaves them lying around. She broke my foot with a calculated heel stomp looking me dead in the eyes while squeezing my throat hard. When I eventually left her, figuring she wasn't seriously going to press charges against me if I left her - AFTER EVERYTHING SHE DID, I was wrong. Police were putting me in hand cuffs the next day. I've now spent the last 7 years of my life as a recluse. She destroyed my life. I believe her completely when she says she was a r4pe victim of uncle bad touch as a child because of a few major triggers that I witnessed in the six months I was with her willingly, followed by another six by coercion. She told me that when she was a kid, she had a friend who we'll call Mina who lived on a farm, and on that farm there were chickens and cows and shit, with a great big sheep dog. She knowingly let this gigantic farm dog into the chicken coup and watched it rip dozens of birds apart. I don't really know if I believe that but it would seal the deal and probably point to my conclusion that she will end a person one day. Can a psychopathic woman also have borderline personality disorder? I don't know these kinds of things. It's not so easy to define in real life. But I assure you, she is CRAZY. For some reason, they make you feel okay with being your worst possible self. Your own morality is eroded by being around them. Her upbringing was terrible. Abusive drug addict probable psychopath violent criminal father who is also a wife beater. He bragged about throwing his wife out the front door by her hair in the snow during a fight, locking her out, and laughing at her banging to get in... while the kids watched. He showed them good and well what would happen if they crossed him. I literally can't believe I met such terrible people. It's not really surprising that my ex was completely insane when what I've said is not even the half of it. She had her own place when we met but she skimped on the last month rent and moved back with her parents. That was probably the first clue if I knew what I was looking for. I think if I didn't just get cheated on + dumped by my previous girlfriend so recently before meeting this nut job, I would have stood a better chance. They get you when you're at your weakest - so be careful. They will turn bad into hell. It's a near certainty that you will not know the psychopath is a psychopath when you are in the room with them. The smart ones are just that good at fooling you. The dumb ones are often in jail because they thought they were, and had to resort to violence.
I think when he goes off on his tangent and he looks down and slightly to his left he’s reading notes that he made ahead of time. He sounds like a 3rd grader reading a report in front of a class. I think he’s simply reading papers on the table. And when he looks up and sideways to his left I think he’s looking at his lawyer for clues, ie the “no comment” phrase.
To tell Richard that he's joined the ranks of manson and Bundy, your essentially telling him he's in the hall of fame, that he's won the lottery and he's getting released to continue his reign of terror. Bravo interviewer.

Sucks girl, and unfortunately I feel your pain.
Please look up Dr Ramani on utube. She has helped me so much

@@northstar2621 He sounds scary.
Check out Dr. Ramani on utube. I have learned so much from her. I find her very comforting

Did you consider when he was “looking outside” he was visually consulting with his lawyer for a “yes you can” or “no you can’t answer that” head shake? Just a theory
I don't think so bro. A narcissist psychopath wouldnt like anyone to tell him what to say or do. I get your idea tho but think this isnt the case.

I am a student of face reading and you have given me so many wonderful frozen clips to study. Thank you so much Derek Van Schaik. I have studied about 40 facial traits that can be associated with narcissism.I'm sure these facial traits transfer right over to a psychopath/sociopath
Interesting. You should make a video about your studies.

has anybody ever just walk in and stare at a psychopath.
I felt the Dexter character himself reminds me of this guy..
For the future I hope, I can find a way to care for unknown people as I do now for animals and I hope I can finish my education and start a life as a therapist (which is why I follow this channel, I see it as a way to improve my social understanding and learn about psychology and psychiatry)
sorry for the broken English and the long monologue..

High drive!

Ramirez chased me for two blocks in March of 1985. It was around 3 am and it was terrifying. I ran to a friends house and her mom opened the door right as I turned and saw his big ugly eyes about 6 feet away from me. I’ll never forget that.
Why was he chasing you?
Girl stop lying
I left a sleep over at friends house to go another friends house around 3 am. He was sitting at a bus stop and as I walked nearby he stood up and stayed following me. I started to run and he started to run. As I reached my friends house I started yelling and banging on their door. My friends mom cracked the door open and I shoved it open. As I stood there banging on the door o looked behind me yo my right and he was 4 feet from woth with arms extended to grab me. I SAW HIS FACE and it was HIM.

Thanks for sharing that I'm definitely gonna look that up

You mean the one with the woman that has black hair and the interviewer was British?
Is it called in love with a serial killer? Foreign women who interviews missy? She says she went to meet him when he was in his 40s and he started masterbating and she never went back again? Missy said he had eyes like a shark
Please talk more about serial killers! This is so so interesting! I watched this video twice already. 😅
Yeah, I know someone just like that too. You explain it so well. I’ve been there and I’m so sorry you have too
I thought my sons mother was just a narcissistic, pathological liar...but this video has me convinced she's a literal psychopath. Not even joking.
i think love and happiness was top of mind because he assumed that's the first emotion normal people think of
When in fact the first emotion on our minds is anger, or disgust when we think of him or someone like him.
"When we re-babtize our evil qualities as our best qualities...."
Fascinating stuff. I presume he's reciting that from another source but if he really came up with that on his own it's quite good.
I really enjoy your videos they teach me a lot :)
Kills 13 people. “He’s a nice guy!” What the heck! 🤦♂️
What a creepy bloke.
In this interview, he's almost trying to deliberately come off as intimidating.
The interviewer says “you’re good at reading your script”...
He rehearsed parts of this many times, you can tell.
To tell Richard that he's joined the ranks of manson and Bundy, your essentially telling him he's in the hall of fame, that he's won the lottery and he's getting released to continue his reign of terror. Bravo interviewer.
