Raja brought me here and I'm LOVING IT !!
I remember when Madame's Place was on TV. It's such a shame that Wayland Flowers passed away in 1988. Thanks for posting these, they are great!
There's no reason that 'Madame' cannot live on forever. She's a classic.
Wayland Flowers was so talented that sometimes one forgets that Madame is a puppet.
ooo I loove Madam! She needs her on UA-cam channel with weekly shows or something like that. She looks alot like Joan Rivers too... or rather Joan looks like HER now lol
great post :)
That guy Wayland was so talented...I remember watching Solid Gold as a kid just to watch Madame. Good Stuff 👍
MADAM! Wow I watched this show as a little girl! She was the ONLY reason I watched!
Madame
Madame Rocks!!!
I sure have MISSED her! I forgot how funny she was!
I remember watching Solid Gold in 1983 💘😘😍
I miss her. If she was alive I would tell her that she was (and is) my favorite puppet.
omgoodness i thought madame was very funny as a kid and now that I am an adult I can understand why this show came on at night..
Madame was the best. I always loved her on this show. Wayland Flowers was a genius in bringing her to life. Nobodyelse could duplicate that. She has her place in popular culture. On Will and Grace season 7 Karen compared herself with glasses to Madame. She said " When I saw that hideous face all I could think of was I should be wearing a feather boa and Wayland Flowers should have his hand up my ass!" LOL!
It was a great era for comedy. Madame was the greatest. RIP Wayland.
Who else is here because of Raja's portrayal of Madame in Snatch Game on Drag Race All-star's 7?
Brought back a lot of great memories, I had almost forgotten all about her. What a treat to watch! thank you so much for posting.
Loved her sense of humor 💝💝
That was funny... Waylon Flowers had a great sense of humor and made this one of this funniest puppet act on TV. Thanks for posting.
LOL! She always cracked me up!
Love the donut joke! And the Nixon joke!
Ah, that sassy, brassy, crassy Madame! Thanks for posting!
Absolute class
I LOVED Waylund and Madame! they were the MOST!
📺 I used to watched this with my mom & dad when I was 14yrs old! 💃
Wow, I forgot about Solid Gold! I used to watch this all the time. Madame is so funny.
I love Madame, she rocks!
What a cute funny character I had completely forgotten about.
Madame is a national treasure!!!!
bring back solid gold.
I agree
LadySakurra you are way too funny! I remember Madame on Solid Gold also. This really brings back memories!
i watched her as a kid....amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved watching her with Andy Gibb!! She did not creep me out.
I was a young girl used to love to watch her 😂
Wayland Flowers and Madame were a great team .
Madame rocked it!
I miss Madame
Nettie Newsom
when did she die?
Well the dancers didn't actually start having speaking rolls til season 5. That's one good thing Rick Dees added.
I used too love solid gold .madame was a riot rip wayland 💐
Ibecharmed1, thankyou so much for posting these! A blast from the past! Thanks again!
The makeup, the hair...women were lovely, like little Christmas gifts, in the 80's. You don't appreciate a good thing until it's gone.
I really did like madame. and Marilyn Mccoo aslways sobeautiful her and her husband sing my favorite duet ; you don't have to be a star!!!!!
Ok...first lbCharmed, I am officially back!
As in how long Waylon Flowers and Madame lasted on SG, Seasons 1-4. I thought it was so funny when Madame would flirt with Tony and Alex.
During Season 4, Madame had her own "radio station" on SG called "K-Droop."
Madame was on for about 3 seasons. If you see the intro you will see "Wayland Flowers & Madame". Wayland was the other half of the "dou". Wayland died in 1988 at the age of 49 and supposedly Madame is buried with him.
Classy puppet
Wayland was the man who worked the puppet AND did the voice of known to the world as Madame.
Here because of raja in all stars 7!!
That puppet use to creep me the hell out.
RocCity Plowing & Lawncare Inc, .....some shows Wayland and Madame were on, they show Wayland speaking holding Madame. He didn't conceal speaking like other ventriloquists did. Trippy!!!!
RocCity Plowing & Lawncare Inc, Me toooo! She terrified me! 😂😂😂
Me too. I was scrolling for this comment even if it is years old. 😂
Marilyn McCoo was absolutely smoking hot!!!!!
The dark girl in the back at 4;15 was the dancer in Kool and the Gang's tune "Fresh". She can move like no tomorrow.
@MagicWally Glad you enjoyed it. Feedback like this is helpful!
Actually BOTH Tony and Alex were in "A Chorus Line - The Movie". Tony landed the role of Al DeLuca, while Alex was an auditioner.
I know that Waylan had many different Madame puppets and the part about her being buried with him is pretty much now an "urban legend" and part of that legend is that the one buried with him was the "first" Madame.
I heard Wayland Flowers was cremated. I would like to know the gravesite, if this is true.
I saw a Madame puppet in the puppet museum in Atlanta.
Hey Lana2k6, it's been a while, good to see you!! And you're welcome!
She's so hilarious she really sucks you in to the hysterical great humor!
Madame = Goddess
Madame, had back in the quite a monologue, very nice indeed
Bring her back!!!!
Madame was designed to look just like Dionne Warwick. Talks like her too.
This puppet scared the Hades out of me! I still feel odd watching her. 😂😂😂😂
😂
Actually, Joe Kovacs brought back Madame in July 2006 in a play called "A Comeback For Abroad."
The best ventriloquist. Lv u madame n Wayland.
Wayland Flowers wasn't a ventriloquist, he was a puppeteer. There's a difference! Before every live show he performs with Madame, he always says to the audience that, he's not a ventriloquist.
Waylon was such a talent
Ashame we lost him to
Aids
luv her forgot she was on solid gold
Welcome back!
OK - but she wasn't on during the entire season 1 and I don't think she was there for the entire season 4, either (am I wrong?). So would that be about 3 seasons, give or take a few episodes? Just trying to clarify . . .
Me too!!!
Raja made me come here
You're welcome! ;-)
@spacecadet1ful - you're very welcome. Thanks for the kind comment!
Solid gold had be the gayest show of the 80s no wonder I never missed an episode! !!
Agreed, Tony = *sigh*
She and Judge Judy are sisters.
Cindy Lou They do look like lol! Whenever I watch Judge Judy, I right away think about Madame from Solid Gold. lmao
😅😂😂Good one...
Kelly Conway
actually here cause of Mike Rapaport calling Harry Styles Madame on Wendy William then Raja did Snatch Game
I'm still shocked that Neil Sedaka is straight?!
The dancer Tony starred in a few movies.
4:59 Tony Fields who played evil Sammi Curr in the horror flick Trick or Treat (1986).
Paul Williams was part of “Batman: The Animated Series”. Do you know which character he voiced?
Of course! Loved that cartoon. He voiced Penguin.
lbCharmed1 Yup!
Looking at this at 50 yrs its hilarious..but as a child...I was kind scared of Madame, though..nobody knew...
@OLDSCHOOLHHSEX Basically up until the point when Rock Hudson came forward people had heard about it, new it was spreading but didn't know anyone that had been affected by it. He was the macho "ladies man" from the 50 & 60's so when he came forward - he also outed himself because at that time "only gays got it". He was the 1st person the international public could now say they "knew" somebody who got AIDS. A horrible to be associated with for eternity.
I don't know why you'd say "Something like that U would expect from the 1990's-NOT the 1980's!". AIDS cases and deaths started being reported in 1980 and most people diagnosed with the disease were only given about 2 years to live since they had no way of testing to diagnose the it that once they figured it out, you were pretty much gone. By the 1990's it was a full scale world threat.
I was always under the impression she was one of the muppets...guess not huh?
wow! i feel soo sooo old right now!!! lol!! jk!
Soo... has anyone ever noticed the resemblance between Madame and Evelyn from Basketball Wives??? ....You're Welcome!
there was some actress that looked like her. but i can't remember who.
@CobraCutie - you're very welcome!
Phyllis Diller
Marilyn McCoo lol wow! I have a friend who never heard of this show...smh
I came to this video following a very weird UA-cam rabbit hole.... From the Boys TV show where they kinda parodied this show
Could you add subtitles pls? Thanks!
lmao i remember the 80's and all the cocaine driven shows. solid gold was the cocainiest.
sorry, that should be "speaking roles" - my English is going down the toilet . . .
Jim Cornette brought me here
