I had to laugh at how wobbly that scope was when he slid it onto the rifle.
And he was apparently just as accurate with a mere pistol.

Gotta wonder now if they actually had a brass slip telescope like that for 66s or other lever-actions? Who knows what sort of modifications gunsmiths did back in those days. They were so highly skilled with their hands as they had to be for most the part.

Allot of unrealistic BS...the scope and no real gunman would holster his sixshooter without reloading.

    Great SW with excellent locations.
This was the first film to use the 'El Paso' set after 'For A Few Dollars More'.

At least two other spaghetti westerns were filmed there in 1966, Navajo Joe and The Good the Bad and the Ugly.

Probably one of the better spaghetti western movies and Craig Hill fits the part very well, sort of a poor man's Clint Eastwood. A lot of low cost westerns were filmed largely below ground level in quarries where you cannot any background but this movie was not only filmed in what is now known as Mini Hollywood but some of the bandits faces are familiar from previous spaghetti westerns.

I only remember Craig Hill from his days as 'P.T'. in Whirlybirds - late '50's TV series, a favourite programme when I was very young indeed. So that's what happened to him! Your Clint Eastwood comparison is well made. Hill must have been about 40 in this film and it's so long ago that I suppose either might have being copying the other. But Eastwood became the big name, even though Hill had, arguably, the better share of square jawed good looks. Fortune is a fickle thing - any professional jealousy I wonder?

It's a wonder why this movie, in which Hill was quite good, didn't jump start a new phase of his career, this time in his own country, rather than staying in Spain. Most of the spaghetti westerns did wonders for the careers of others. But the motion picture business has always been a strange business, hasn't it?

The Spaghetti Westerns shot in Spain and Italy locations look nothing at all like the American West they were trying to depict. Everything is wrong, the mountains, buildings, clothes, guns, wagons, everything.

CRAIG HILL WAS GOOD IN THIS ONE I MUST SAY AND THE SETS BY CARLO SIMI ARE GREAT FROM A FEW DOLLARS MORE. BRILLIANT TRAILER THIS AND A NICE NICO FIDENCO SCORE MAIN THEME.DIRECTED BY TONINO VALERII. WHO WAS SERGIO LEONES ASSISTANT ON A FEW DOLLARS MORE.

Nope, just a little too clean shaven and refined and happy of a fellow to fit the role. Ya gotta look like you were already beaten up and thrown into the muddy streets of a western town in the 1880s.
