LYJ is a brilliant, fluent, smart and gifted player. Only the Chinese had him studied LONG and HARD before taking him out of most finals after Diamond 2019. Harimoto is the other formidable threat that the Chinese paid a lot of attention to. These matches are incredible, so much to see and learn.

That was purely a tactical game from Ma Long. He suffocated Lin Yun-Ju so much that he stopped playing his usual winning shots.

Easier said than done. If you can control your opponent, you'll beat him. LYJ's clearly in top form (re: against JWJ R16) but Ma Long upset his game simply by altering rhythm. Now seen it's true but only if you can do it, especially on this stage. Brilliance from the G.O.A.T. :):)

Yeah, Ma has definitely had a Long career.
This old Dragon knew he is no longer as quick as when he was young. No longer can overpower his opponents by stepping around shots with his assertive forehands. But his finesse took over and he barely won with his technical skills. Lin Yun Ju didn't play as well as he is capable of. But he must realize that it is difficult or impractical to win with a high % against Ma Long, Fan Zhendong, or Wang Chuqin. Lin needs to peak at the most prestigious events such as the WTTC World Singles. Winning this Singles title is a defining career achievement.
Go, Lin Yun Ju! I am rooting for you to win a WTTC Singles for the Republic of China.

很多球马龙的卸力防守应对林昀儒的借力速度型打法很有效果，小小林的主动力量还要加强。
They should fire whoever picked out the horrible photo of Ma Long for the profile picture thingy for the video.
The camera always misses the precise moment of the serve. We're not interested in the players' armpits for 3-4 seconds; we want to enjoy the game. The entire table should already be shown before the ball toss. Not during the toss, at least a second before! Please replace the camera operator.
My question after each tournament: who is gonna be part of the two men single TT players for team china.
I think Wang Chuqin is confirmed. Honestly, the second player is difficult to choose. It can be one of Fan Zhendong, Liang Jingkun or Ma Long.
@Independent_Man3 That makes sense. I agree that it seems tough for the China coach team to choose the second player. However, I feel many would love to see the third gold medal 🏅 for the goat ML. Thanks.
@@Aliran64 Since Wang Chuqin is entering Olympics singles 2024 for sure, it's impossible for Ma Long to win a third singles Gold medal because he will lose to Wang Chuuqin in finals. And that's only IF he enters in singles. But yeah, I love surprises more than anything, so who knows?
Fan Zhendong is in bad form right now, so he kinda missed one Gold medal in singles 2020 against Ma Long and will also miss his second Gold medal IF he enters because I just cannot see Wang Chuqin losing to anyone if he is not injured or anything.
This could be tragic for FZD same as Wang Hao back in the day.
I will be very surprised if Wang Chuqin will not win singles Gold medal, I rate his chances on almost 90%.
Liang Jingkun needs to win every single tournament in the upcoming months to even have a chance of being selected in singles - I think there are only 2 tournaments left before Olympics? Low chance if WCQ enters again.
Anyway, GOAT has won enough, it's all right this way, dragons need to sleep at some point hoarding their Gold treausure in a cave :)
From the moment the serving player places the ball in their palm until the referee awards the point, we want to see the entire table without any camera angle changes and enjoy the game. Please replace this camera operator.
