    The choke's are anyone's guess.
    But, those seem to be YTF brand Chinese capacitors made by Shenzhen Yike Technology or its parent/official name (can't figure it out) Shenzhen Jinmao Yuan Technology. Their capacitance is 820uF and they're rated at 2.5V. Chinese, so not great, but as long as VRM temps are ~80C or below, they won't explode on ya.
    The 'FETs are made by UBIQ (the logo's based on the lowercase form [ubiq]). Their full names are QM3092M6 and QM3098M6, and they seem to be pretty damn good.
    That's not a 7 phase doubled though, otherwise it'd look like a 14 phase. It's got one high-side and two low-side's, and the chips next to them are the driver's. Doubler's are like half the size of the driver's. Doesn't matter though, because it's a quality 7 phase. It just needs a bit of airflow via a case fan at the top, and a proper heatsink wouldn't hurt.
    Overall, the VRM's are decent.

    Thanks for making this video! However it seems that the better choice regarding Chinese LGA 2011 boards is still the HuananZhi X79 Gaming or the X79 Plus, specifically V6.0 and up, as they do achieve the same CPU overclocks but also allows for the tuning of both RAM frequency and timmings up to DDR3 2133 CAS 11 at a lower price point. They do even have been voltmodded to reach 4.5 GHz on the E5-1650 V2! It would be great if such claims could be tested someday by you. Best regards!

    ThrottleStop or Intel's XTU may help when trying to OC/lock in a particular clock speed/multiplier. I use ThrottleStop on my 7700K Kaby Lake Z170 based laptop to lock in a 4.5GHz frequency all core overclock (cache multiplier maxes out at 4.2GHz; a limitation of this particular chip is that it can't clock higher than that while remaining stable, at least at the -100Mv undervolt I have the cache and core clocks configured to which helps keep the CPU running cool at those speeds).

    I used to own this board and had a 2680v2 on it with 64GB of registered DDR3. Good for the price and did well as a 1080p gaming system paired with an RX 580, but did have a couple issues...first is that the BIOS was not only simplistic, but Runing also didn't offer any BIOS updates, so you were stuck with the original one. Second is though this mobo has an MSATA port, I couldn't get my 860 EVO MSATA to work on it, BIOS didn't even recognize it! Third is even with an SSD, it took a long time to boot, mainly took a long time to get through the BIOS. Fourth is that the BIOS fan controls sucked, tried to run everything at 100% no matter which setting you picked. Fifth and most annoying is that the size is slightly LONGER than a standard ATX board, which should be 12"x9.6" and this was more like 12.6" long. That extra 0.6" in length means it won't fit many cases.

    Those mosefets are up on Ali express for sale now. They are made by MOSLEADER which is a subsidiary of ON semiconductor. They are $11 for a 10 pack. But ratings looks pretty low at only 22A but since there double'd to 14 you could look at it like 7X44A looking at the video i don't see any doublers so the components are probably just doubled up so its looking like a 7phase.

  • @sayan1713
    @sayan1713 5 років тому

    This is not for people that are building from scratch. This is for people like me that already have some DDR3 ram, a decent CPU cooler, SSD, graphics card, etc.
    I'm coming from an AMD 960t desktop with 16GB of DDR3 and a Thermaltake Frio Extreme. I also own an i7 2670MQ laptop. All I have to do is buy a cheap six core E5-1650 or an octa core E5-2690 (your choice, both are around $65 to $70 right now), use my DDR3 ram or buy 32GB of dirt cheap registered DDR3 ram on eBay for $45 to $50, use my already powerful 1000w power supply and my old SSD, and the difference would be massive compared to my old rig.
    I can choose this more expensive Runing board or I can be patient and wait for a proper branded used board on eBay for around $150. Or perhaps I can choose something less fancy like the PlexHD X79 that can be found for around $90 and does the job just fine. There are many ways to jump on the X79 platform these days.
    So, if you are coming from an older platform that used DDR3, for a little over $150 your computer can become relevant again. We are talking about near Ryzen 2600 performance for the price of a single Ryzen 2600 or less. And if you are in a tight budget, there are some motherboards for as little as $60 (not recommend, though), making this upgrade possible with just a little over $100.
    So in my opinion, yes, these Chinese boards are still worth it. However, if you are in a budget but are building from scratch, just get a Ryzen.

  • @SianaGearz
    @SianaGearz 5 років тому

    That's actually a common budget arrangement. Per phase MOSFET gate driver IC + one high-side and two low-side in parallel, which is a cheap way to distribute the load, lower the losses and make things less explodey. You must find either one very expensive low-side MOSFET with ultra low RDSon or two of the more normal garden variety ones in parallel, that's how it is, and so doubled up lowers are common on budget boards. Separate gate drivers is another cheap solution. I mean nothing wrong with all that, but the whole thing seems to look more impressive to you than it really is?

I can not get an 4.6GHz overclock stable, because I tested this combo a whole day with gaming and some stress testing like cinebench, but after 3 hours it crashes all the times (CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT). The temperatures getting no more than 70°C and I tested that system with 1.2V, 1.25V, 1.3V and with 1.35V but that didn't work. Please help me

    Would it make sense for someone (me) with a complete i7, x79 system from 2013 or so (but which still performs well enough for everything I need - 70+ fps in Terran X3 @ 4k!) to swap in a Chinese X79 MB to get the NVMe capability? (I have a Gigabyte X79-UP4, so the two things I would lose are the 4 extra memory slots (but I currently use 4x4 (for 16) memory now, quite adequate) and the digital/SPDIF sound output, but I could buy a card for that.) Thoughts? I'm currently booting and running off a SATA SSD, so how much benefit would there be to boot/run off an NVMe drive?

    Those chokes look pretty good. I've found little data on those mosfet numbers but nothing promising. (Still looking) but lets say worst case scenario there 40A chokes. That would be 280A's max going through the VRM. That's enough to run a 6c12t cpu with a light OC. Will get back soon as i find out more on the VRM. Also I'll msg. Buildzoid and see what he thinks. I have a feeling they will be sufficient.

    For a bit more, probably about 150 Yankee dollar you'd get a proper (2nd hand) x79 probably, tested and working... Saw many of those "no-name" or some "X-name" mobos, some were even strange combos of mobile chipset and dimm ram (not so-dimm), problems with even booting into OS, etc... It's ok if you want to play a bit and throw it to garbage then, X (x58, x79, 99, 299) are (were) workstation platform, and you need stability and support for this use, so those boards aren't really so cheap (read not worth it) if you calculate a bit, but a nice experiment anyway... Sometimes I buy strange parts too to have a peek and have some fun with!

    Being a recent design, the BIOS developers really should have included NVMe boot in the UEFI, especially sine they are using AMI Aptio firmware which has an open source NVMe driver. (My dual socket Asus server board has a modded BIOS that supports said NVMe driver, and it boots from a WD Black NVMe 1TB using that native driver.)
