A hands on review of the diminutive but nonetheless fabulous OHTA OFB65 fixed blade knife.
His website is 'unusual' so if you're interested in buying one, do a search and find a dealer. They're not exactly rare, but not all styles and versions are readily available.
awesome pronunciation :-) and nice knife. I own an OFB90 with micarta handle, an awesome knife with a great sheath. All as you said.
😊
A nice little straight forward design. I don't know how much it costs, but ironwood is fetching a premium these days, and it's one of the best natural handle materials imo. Thanks for showing it. I am digging your content, and I'm gonna go ahead and sub! Cheers!
Thanks for the sub, I appreciate it 😊
I'm usually attracted to micarta as a handle material but this ironwood has opened my eyes to the beauty of natural options. I looked into it when I got this knife and yes, it's expensive but awesome!
Agree, lovely little knive, for someone like me who wants to go from folding to fixed blade edc it seems perfect. I justthink the 3mm sheet is overkill, espezially if the is a kydex in the middle already. 1mm would have been enogh to make it last just as long and would fit to the nimble design.
Got me the 90 mm version. Very delicate knive, very thinly grind. flexes a lot at the tip. Unfontunately the bevel grind is not even on both sides, but thats fixable. I think the 60 and 75 will fit perfect to the blade stock. Will make a light kydex for this, the sheet is actually more heavy then the knive.
Was that rust at the end of video?
No, not rust but some sort of stain - I didn't find the cause but it was maybe from something it was stored against. Anyway, I sanded it out with 1000 grit sandpaper and it's been perfect ever since 🙂
