This song right here reminds me of my very first girlfriend Deanna. Growing up on Long Island, NY this album was fresh out and on all the rock FM radio stations. There was actually a TV commercial for this album. God I wish I was young again. That transition at 6:29 kills me!!!
John Bonham employs the "Purdie Shuffle" on this, named for New Orleans legend Bernard Purdie. The versatility and skill that Bonzo brought to this band is the exact reason that they ceased to exist in his absence. As well they understood.
For many wrong reasons, this album often gets dissed and left at the bottom of the heap when ranked. I think the main reason is that it's not a guitar-centered album because the songs were mainly written by JPJ and Plant, for Page and Bonzo were trying to sober up. But just listen to Carouselambra, All My Love, I'm Gonna Crawl. To me, this is some of their best music. I feel the same about Presence. SO much greatness on there but so underrated, but it contains some of their most sophisticated, rockin' music ever.
I saw the Jason Bonham Led Zep Evening a few weeks ago, and they played FITR. It was great, unexpected. And they were great. As JB noted, Zep never had a chance to play this live as a band.
The other thing about the big change was Jimmy ,was said to be doing horribly with his heroin addiction.Although technically the leader of the band his input was limited initially. From what I read JPP & Plant starting writing. As you can see the music it is heavily influenced by JPP.
Some calypso influence on this song...this is precisely why I love LZ because they are so diverse and influenced by so many genres and cultures that it's hard to label them and I laugh at people that label them heavy metal because the only song they've heard was Heartbreaker or Immigrant Song, they are definitely not a heavy metal band! They actually have more acoustic songs than metal song in their repertoire!
I love STB's vids and how he has thoroughly reviewed Led Zeppelin's catalog. Has STB done a reaction video to the John Paul Jones & Diamanda Galas (goth, avant-garde soprano) 1994 album "The Sporting Life"? If not, it would be worth a listen. ua-cam.com/video/GkNgweWjEkk/v-deo.html Some don't like it but it has also been described as the "best album Led Zeppelin never made". Wayne would likely have an interesting take.
Neil Peart is great too... on a different level... Let's not forget Keith Moon...."Going Mobile" would be a great drum song from The Who to do a reaction to.
I know there's not enough time in the day for Wayne to listen to all of these requested albums but I also discovered John Paul Jones' 1999 instrumental rock solo album "Zooma" ua-cam.com/video/DZEww2fCw74/v-deo.html and this is definitely worth a listen. The fresh approach and quality of the compositions makes me wish, more than before, that Page and Plant had included JPJ in their 1990's collaboration. Without JPJ, Page and Plant gave us the mediocre (with the exception of a couple of good songs) late 90s album "Walking Into Clarksdale" but with Jones they might have actually created new material worthy of the Led Zeppelin legacy. If "In Through The Outdoor" is not enough to convince someone of JPJ's value, this solo album may do it.
At 6:31 one of the greatest drum fills ever played on a record can be heard.

I saw your original post and just this post again...I laugh every time you laugh at end! "On the wrong damn block" 😂
Page's unmatched production values were highlighted succinctly here.
Bonham’s isolated drum track from Fool In The Rain if you’ve never heard it. ua-cam.com/video/lWnhz1ZcF74/v-deo.html
One of my positively absolute favorites but I say that a lot.
I love that samba middle section. It’s like being instantly transported to Rio for carnival.
And then the guitar comes in like a
Saxophone.
He was waiting on the wrong block just like Silhouettes on the Shades
Bonham SHINES here!!
The guitar solo reminds me of a saxophone.

When I was mostly a hear feel drummer I used to try to do this beat,I just couldn't do it. You have to learn it.
John Bonham was using steel drums on this song, and I'm pretty sure whole album. Why! I guess he only knew.
This song has a real Latin/Caribbean type feel to it.
Hi STB. Howsabout an update on your Pops' reaction to this? Sorry in case you've already done so. Peace.
He loved it

HOT DOG is another great one on that album.... Would like to hear your reaction on that.

I'll do it for sure man!
Is Jimmy Page better than David Gilmour? Discuss.
Yes.
Yes
