    Ok. Let me say this. When I first went to you tube , WAYNE was my FIRST EVER beauty influencer I followed 2016-2017. He was my go to. Still is. Anyway. I do love the new pointed brushes of his. Want them. Also I only have 3 of Sonia G’s (2 were a gift) , I have tons of BK beauty and Rephr. On the hunt for more shadow brushes and a face brush I know the new Sonia g the goat isn’t the top goat , but the quality is still there. I can’t wait @Allfeisty (Jen) to do her review as well. Thank you

    I'm obviously super late to these releases but I'm only now admitting that I need to find more small/hooded eye friendly brushes. I have definitely picked up on the SG and WG recs in terms of small eyes but I'm curious to know what else you or anyone else would recommend if I were just starting over with my eye brush collection? Thanks.

    Sofia I have to tell you that Surratt brushes are exceptional.
    If I had to pick one, I’d suggest the artistique smokey eye eyeshadow brushes; there are 3 sizes- small, medium, and large, called petite, moyenne, and grande. I love love love them all!
    The medium/moyenne is fabulous for a blown out smokey eye. I have a sense that this style of brush works so so well with the Surratt eyeshadow formula.
    You have to get your hands on those eyeshadow brushes Sofia. You will not regret it!
    I also have the artistique highlight brush, and the artistique sculpting cheek brush, I like them better than my Sonia G brushes (which I love to) but Surrat is kind of on another level. Not sure why, but in my opinion, they are. Maybe it’s because they work perfectly with the Surratt product formulas.
    I get frustrated when I pick up a fabulous brush only to find it doesn’t work well to pick up the product and I’m left scratching my head - and then using my fingers lol
    Surratt brushes are probably my favorite of all that I own. I’m recently branching into more brands and hair types, but I can say without hesitation that the Surratt brushes are superb!
    Today I picked up the face brush - 30% discount - I couldn’t pass this up. I’ve had my eye on the face (powder) brush for 2 years now!!

    Woaw! I’m very impressed by your knowledge regarding manufacturing these brushes. I must admit that I have Real Techniques Brushes, Elf ones and also a brush that I bought a very long time ago at a professional makeup artist’s shop in Paris for a very good price. It was a hairdresser who took me there and let me have her prices. And sometimes I use a watercolor brush of mine for my highlighter which was making my mother laugh a lot when she was still alive. And it works perfectly. So I’m good for now. Maybe I will invest in a good pencil brush and I still need to find a good bronzer brush because what I have is not top notch. Maybe later…

    I am glad that they are going to sell the bk beauty x nikki rose individually because I don't want them all in a set.
    The sonia g are not really in my price range but look very nice.
    I wish wayne goss had brought back his old brushes, I am not crazy about white bristles. Do you know if his old brushes are gone for good?
    I wonder when beautylish's black friday sale will start, I've been waiting for that to pick up some wayne goss brushes.
    That wayne goss eyeshadow brush looks perfect for me for those reasons, I love the sonia g jumbo blender and this one looks similar just a different shape.

    I fell so in love with the original Wayne Goss detail brush that you disliked that I immediately went back for another. Then they were sold out and discontinued, and I spent a miserable few years looking for substitutes-there aren’t any! No other brush l found could push black shadow into my lash lines to make as neat and crisp a line as those did on my tiny, droopy, severely hooded old eyes. When the brush miraculously reappeared this season, I bought the new set and 3 individual spares. Then they all disappeared (sold out) in a matter of days.
    My next purchase will be Sonia G’s tiny pencil brush, because it’s even smaller than Wayne’s.

    You are killing it girl!! Great reviews and I couldn’t agree more with everything you said.
    I already got the WG new collection of the face and eyes just didn’t get a chance to play with it yet.
    With that said thanks to you 😉 I own a sky set collection as well as the new WG collection (not to mention every BK beauty and Rephr brush that exists ) do you think it makes sense to get the 2 eye brushes you recommend from the fundamental eye series? Are they any different than all of the other once I mentioned? (The goal here is to keep my collection unique)
    PS I’m also about to invest in the CHIKUHODO Z series eye brushes so the struggle is real 😅

    Hi Sofia,
    Very useful info!🙂I have two sky eye sets plus the holiday trio set from last year. I’ll buy the ones you recommended for people who already have the sky eye set.
    I have 2 questions.😁
    1.How many eye brushes do you think are enough for people who are not influencers or makeup artists? I mean for ordinary people. I’m thinking to have enough to rotate them in order to keep them in a good shape for many years.
    2. What do you think about Rae Morris face brushes? I have face brushes with natural hair (Sonia G and Surratt) but I would like to have a few with synthetic hair and, of course, very good quality.
    Because I live in Australia I can buy Rae Morris brushes from the store. They feel very soft but are very expensive and nobody talk about them.
    I would like to see a review about what brushes are the best to apply powder eyeshadows from Chanel and other brands with similar formula, Tom Ford and other brands with similar formula, Hermes (unique 😍) and so on. Same with powder blushes, setting and finishing powder and bronzer (not interested in bronzer but I’m generous today 😁 thinking that other people would like to know).
    Thank you very much for such a comprehensive review!🙂 You are the best!❤

      Great questions!! I have a video planned soon for exactly what you just requested about best brushes for certain products.
      I think if you aren’t an influencer, The amount of brushes you might want to have really depends on how often you change up your make up. When I was younger I used to use the same products and shades every single day, so I didn’t feel like I needed to wash my brushes quite as frequently. I think most people can get away with one or two sets. But if you really love to do different looks and you enjoy the experience of creating those looks with different brushes I say there’s no shame in collecting different materials and brush shapes if it fits your budget!
      I have tried Rae Morris but I heard the brushes are great maybe I will look to see if I can get some this week to try

    Sofia could you do me a favour please? I'd love to understand how the Rephr #01 compares with both the Sonia G Worker M and Worker S. I have the Rephr 01 and I'm wondering if I should invest in a Sonia G worker as well. Appreciate your thoughts, when you get a moment. Thank you! Helen (in the UK) xx

    Some of the Wayne Goss brushes are similar shapes to the Rephr... 😅, are they the same in terms of feel?

    • @SofiaSeesBeauty
      @SofiaSeesBeauty  3 місяці тому

      It depends on the brush. The rephr brushes are pretty consistent in the fibers they use whereas the wayne goss ones depend on the range

    • @SofiaSeesBeauty
      @SofiaSeesBeauty  Рік тому +1

      The new set has 4 brushes that had been previously launched. There is one I think that is similar in the lotus set (the builder brush)

    • @amykingston3133
      @amykingston3133 Рік тому +1

      Yes! I think the builder M and the Lotus Builder (and the builder 3 original) are basically the same. I also think the lotus worker was very similar to the OG worker 2, the new worker M is a copy of the worker two. I actually love the lotus worker which is making me want a second one in worker M with this beautiful handle:)

    I only bought the Sonia G pencil small. I thought for sure I would buy them all (and I still might), but when I got Wayne's full face and eye set, my wallet screamed at me and told me no to all of the Sonia G brushes. 😂I also got a little salty about Sonia reclassifying her Saikoho brushes as just "goat." Wayne didn't do that, and it shows in the quality of his bristles. As for the WG face brushes, the F1 is one I think you'd love. And I totally agree with you about that smallest WG eye brush. That thing was washed and put straight into a drawer. I also have many Rephr eye brushes, including the mini and max sets, and I agree with you in that (1) they're a blend, and (2) I don't have to be precious with them. Back to WG: that E2, the smaller crease, is so wonderful I want one more. I call Wayne's two crease brushes, "the modern crease" in that the taper starts towards the middle of the bristle and then tapers to a sharp point. I really wish Sonia would create something like that. Her crease brushes really are pretty standard, with the taper mostly at the end. However, I have 2 of her "S Series," last year's holiday release, and those squirrel brushes are so amazing. I wish she'd do more of those types of brushes. Those are works of art. I cannot wait for her holiday release this year, and to watch your review of them. 💖As always, I really appreciate your videos. You have really helped me to soften my eye looks, which I feel has been of great benefit. I love how you break down a Dior eyeshadow palette, and bring it to life. I tend to copy your looks. And you have definitely influenced my buying habits. Best wishes to you, Sweet Minnie, and your family this holiday season. 😸

      I picked up 4 of the new SG brushes as I have the others from previous collections. The walnut handles are beautiful but Wayne wins with the silliest & softest bristles & some unique shapes in his latest release. Initially I bought a few but went back & picked up 2 more as the hair quality is exceptional & definitely the best of all his previous goat hair brushes. Bar the foundation brush, I won't be using his brushes for creams as I think they're too good for that so I'll be using them for powders only.

  • @os5634

    I watched the way you used the last brush that you didn’t like from Wayne Goss’s collection. I don’t think he uses it the way you did. I think what he does is he stamps the shadow above his eyelashes he’s not going back-and-forth with the brush the way you showed. I would try that way just a suggestion.
