I both agree and disagree that Ace died for nothing. Agree because he could’ve just run away, nothing was stopping hm. But he had to go back and made his family effort and sacrifice almost all for nothing and caused the whitebeard pirate to be dismantled. Now for disagreement, if Ace didn’t Luffy would not have learned the hard truth that he does need to get stronger and learn how to do it. He would’ve been too stubborn to realize it and if he gone to the new world without that lesson he and his friends would really be dead.
About Luffy I agree but it also progressed his character a different way whenever luffy faced true defeat or thought he lost something luffy broke down Kuma making the crew disappear and Ace's death but now even in situations akin to that like against kaido luffy is still able to keep at least some of his wits about him his will and ability to handle failure as a whole has just gotten stronger
I don't get why people don't get why ace did what he did ... like he has always been stubborn ever since he was a kid it's his personality, his character. It's like saying why did Naruto chase after Sasuke when he literally didn't have to... That's because he is Naruto and not someone else same goes for ace, if it was anyone else they might choose to ignore it, but not ace
The girl at 37:49 is a W. Sakamoto days is a must read. It has arguably the best chreographed fights in all of anime period. If it gets an amazing adaptation, it could very well pop off like how jjk or demon slayer did. Not even joking.
As regards Ace's death, I think it was really needed for Luffy. When Ace died so many things happened. If you remember, Usopp was in an island full of food just eating, Nami was plotting to leave the sky island that would have taught her so much in terms of weather, Sanji was basically playing dress-up, Zoro was moving directionless in Mihawk's castle with no tangible way to escape and so on for the rest of the straw hats. But when they got the news that Ace died, all of them buckled up and decided that if Luffy was putting in that much effort after he lost his family, they would put in that much effort for him. If Ace didn't die, Luffy would have gone on to the new world not knowing haki and having gear 3 as his strongest gear. We all know that without that 2 year timeskip, Luffy and the crew would have died before they made it to the Wano arc. I honestly believe he would've ended up like Kidd or worse off. Ace's death not only developed Luffy but also his crew. Talking about his reaction with Kaido versus Kuma isn't really a good comparison. Luffy saw his crew DISAPPEAR and later realised that Kuma actually transported them to different places. He obviously knew they were alive cus he wanted Boa to take him back to Sabaoby to meet up with the rest of the straw hats while with Kaido, Luffy thought Kaido BURNT his crew alive. The two instances are different so using that as an argument to say Luffy didn't learn from the past is kinda unfair since the situations were different. Also different people have different views on what makes a developed character. In terms of Luffy, I think his character development is not about making changes to him but working on those aspects that you would consider his flaws. One of Luffy's flaws pretimeskip was that he's very stubborn and does not think things through. But post timeskip we see that he has improved. In his fight with Katakuri, Luffy realized that he had to focus on his observation haki and rely on Rayleigh's teachings to help him. How many times pre time skills have we seen Luffy REALLY focus in a fight rather than just spamming every move in his arsenal. Luffy has come to a place where he realizes, I can't always win by using every move I know, sometimes I need to analyze my opponents and find that one move I have that will allow me to beat them. Same thing in his fight with Kaido, he realized that he had to stay in the prison to learn ryeo rather than just rushing to fight Kaido again. If we were talking pretimeskip Luffy, immediately he woke up, he would have gone after Kaido again just like he did with Crocodile. Lastly, for the toxic fan base. I really agree with this. Sometimes I see what some people say and I'm like why would you even say this? But ultimately, I think don't let some people on the internet you'll probably never meet dictate how much you enjoy a show. Yes, it can be REALLY ANNOYING but at the same time you watch a show because you truly enjoy it not because of what some random people say about the show. I love One Piece so I just decided to drop this here. I love the video idea too! Good work Rob and don't let the One Piece takes get to you!
If you have the brain capacity to write this much about a single topic in one piece you should have noticed that the anime is also just bad. It's like all of one piece watchers have a bias towards it. Forcing themselves to think it's good because they invested an entire month of non stop watching into it
One Piece is bloated.. Ace really died for nothing... The point is Luffy went after Kaido and would have and should have died.. The things you put out let to prove development of the characters would have happened either way...
@@YesnaAnd have you thought so many people like it because it is good.Just because you dislike something doesn't mean it Bad its just not for you. One piece is actually has a great story that is very enjoyable.
To me, spoilers are the biggest problem I have with anime fans. Like they'll say, "Oh you like that character? Well I won't spoil anything but they has a really important scene that changes the rest of the show and it WILL make you cry," like I'm too stupid to figure out that means they die.
I say that the best starter anime is Mob Psycho 100. The problem with Demon Slayer is how advanced it is right off of the bat, not in story of course but in presentation. There's also the lack of true power, beside the demons of course. Finding out that the shown effects of the breathing techniques aren't truly there disperses the initial disbelief and essentially makes the Demon Slayers weaker, when most Shonen anime consumers would much rather know that the flashy attacks they see truly have the effect that they appear to have. Mob psycho on the other half shows people who are human in mind but have powers beyond our current world, and shows a relatable main character dealing with real human issues, but also having powers that are beyond normal humans. It has great animation, and easy story, and character development that is easy to follow. This, I say, is the best starter anime, and is also a contender for what I'd say could be the new gen top 10
Without Ace’s death luffy would have never realized death was a real threat to him. He humbled himself and put his entire dream on hold because he saw for the first time how unprepared he was. He never would have even known or thought to do this without Ace. Him going after Kaido at that moment was a first reaction to seeing what you’ve trained soo much to prevent actually happening again, losing the ones you love. I don’t think it’s fair to say he has no character development at all because of that one time.
Well more so the death of those he care for kinda. Since episode one, Luffy always knew there was a good chance he’d die but to quote him. “If I die trying then that’s okay with me.” It was something alone that line and this turns out later to be proven when buggy was literally an inch away from slicing his next off back when smoker was introduced. Telling his Zoro and Sanji that’s he’s sorry and he’s dead before a bolt of plot came and saved him.
He knew the dangers the sea holds, I mean shanks legit lost his arm for luffy and he is strong. and he was okay to die as he try to reach his dream, its just that Ace's death was anticipated from sabaody to marineford and we learn that he is kinda suicidal because of his self esteem being related to him. but its true that Ace's death made him realized how weak he is. because he doesn't usually save his crew in a fight most of the times because he trust them and their strength, but He hit the limit in the Grandline that is why he has to train to be stronger.
In that Kaido momment his character development was thrown in the trash, The guy's take here is actually right for once, He put EVERYONE HE LOVED AND CARED ABOUT potentially killed EVEN AFTER LOSING ACE because of what? He was being a dunbass again?
Ngl, I would say Gabe is a judge biased against one Piece but Rob is there to balance it out. Some of Gabe’s anime takes are criminal and Rob is his parole officer.
I will agree, I think PTS One Piece did a lot better in terms of character development, however there are a lot of characters they still have great development later on, Sanji for example.
@@aaronmontgomery2055 well I’m mainly comparing in one piece the different developments between the pre and post timeskip. It sort of feels like Oda changed up a lot when the timeskip happened
Pleasantly surprised to see a take about Sakamoto Days and I agree with her take. The characters really are the selling point of the manga; I found myself attached to the characters after reading a few chapters.
Ace died for nothing take is crazy knowing that it in character for him to be impulsive. So we gonna fault the story for something that story told and showed us multiple times?? Idk about that. Also the characters being static post ts isn't a fault on the characters but a fault on how grand oda wants the final saga to be so he has to flesh and focus on his world and not the main cast due to them getting majority of the screentime regardless. It also why he splits up the characters during the arcs because we have 10 + 1 if we include vivi straw hats that all need some sort of screentime while a final saga that supposed to involve the entire world which also needs fleshing out. That just my stance character development isn't a weak part of one piece it just people are upset their favorites aren't getting more focus due to oda's grander vision that beyond just one character.
But he did die for nothing. Everyone came to save him and then he died fighting someone who not only had the advantage of decades of more experience in fighting, his fruit was stronger than Ace in terms of power, and was known for being ruthless.
the problem though is that it has too many characters, i agrre wh u, its not a weak point but take naruto for example. People trash talk naruto when the 'principal' point is the character development. Ace death was not for nothing, just like Jirayas and now Satoru wasnt, but the guy is kinda right, Ace would make not only Luffy stronger but all the Straw Hats
Expecting someone like Luffy to do the rational decision after seeing his friends potentially being killed is crazy lmao!! Character Development doesn't mean changing the entire Character and usually Luffy has a pretty good sense of when its time to retreat but he is also the kind of guy who punches a Celestial Dragon and doesn't regret anything, even after getting launches across the planet
@@gavinni3998 No, did you forget what luffy said. He was saying he has nothing to live for then he said he still has his crew. to a guy who just saw his entrie reason for living get evaporated that was a completely valid reaction

I need to see Gabe and that one girl who brought up her take on anime losing longevity go at it. I don't care what topic or show they do, those two are the new Goku and Vegeta for sure!
I got some takes that I think are money worthy‼️ 1) Binge watching or reading animes that are already finished is better than waiting every week for a new episode or chapter 2) Boondocks is a anime, it’s not a “black anime” or a “western animation” it’s just purely a anime 3) Instead of making live actions of great older animes, I feel like they should be redone and reintroduce to the world with the same story and art style but with todays modern animations
Ace died for nothing? 💀 Blackbeard wouldn't be HIM if Ace hadn't died. My man forgot the bigger picture here. Ace's death was inevitable, not in the point of bringing things out of luffy BUT to showcase BlackBeard capabilities, iq and strength. And "SABO WAS INTRODUCED TO CONTINUE THE PLOT" My man forgot that Sabo was already introduced in ALABASTA. I mean Ace's Tatoo says it all. Sooner or later Oda was gonna introduce Sabo. IT WAS ALREADY PLANNED...... LET ODA COOK!!!!
I like the Togashi hot take. He definitely sits on the same bench as Akira Toriyama, Eiichiro Oda and others (Kishi, Kubo, Isayama, etc). He gave us S-Tier stories; Hunter x Hunter and YuYu Hakusho. Underline S-Tier! He gave us inarguably the best power system (Nen) and one of the best arcs in manga history (Dark Tournament). The power system influenced other great power systems. Influenced some of the greatest pieces in manga history. Naruto, Bleach, JJK, Demon Slayer, Toriko, Tokyo Ghoul, OPM, etc. Enjoyed the Anime Shark Tank. Please do another 1😤🔥.
My issue with the idea of the "new big 3" is why does it need to be a big 3. Before the big 3, it was just dragonball, the big 1. Then it went on to one piece, naruto and bleach, the big 3. Rn there are so many big anime: demon slayer, mha, black clover, jjk, chainsaw man, boruto, aot. Why cant it be a big 5 or big 7? Anime is so much more mainstream now, limiting to a big 3 is stupid Thats my pitch, thank you sharks
Bc there were other anime around the big 3 as well like hxh (1999), gintama, inuyasha, fairytail, deathnote etc. Those 3 just stuck out the most overall.
@jaybronx98 gintama, 99 hxh, etc were not as iconic as the big 3. But the big shonen of nowadays are all as main stream and iconic as the og big 3 and against each other. Considering how main stream shonen is in 2024, there is no reason to limit it to a "big 3" when it can easily be a "big 5" or "big 7" because all of them are just as iconic as the others
@@bryansouza16 that’s what I’m saying. There were plenty of anime out around the same time as the big 3, they just didn’t stick out as much. And idk about that, demon slayer was putting up one piece numbers at one point. I agree anime in general is more popular worldwide than it ever was tho
Big 3 is for casual watchers and I believe one of the (unfortunate) factors is actually the character designs. AoT has some great designs, but since it really resonates with the real world the colours are really ordinary and bland to anime fans. AoT is definitely my no. 1 anime but top 3 should be something that casual watchers can watch, AoT needs a lot assessment after each episode lollll which I find really fun
Another great concept and execution with this video man, they're always fun to watch, and seeing everyone participating in the video have fun as well is a credit to that too !
To be fair I have a one piecer in my friend group and whenever someone else said that they thought the show was okay and could be better, the one piecer asked what episode he was on and the other one said episode 1056...then the one piecer friend said "then you don't know what you're talking about" and I'm like BRUH
Gabe when he hears the worst take known to mankind: YES! THANK YOU! TAKE ALL MY MONEY! Gabe when he hears a perfectly reasonable take: Awful. get out of here. You should pay ME money for having to hear that take.
Ace's death is the main core for Luffy's character development, and his pride and love for WB is the reason he died. Saying his death is for nothing is crazy to me
That first lady gaslighting u was wild she said at the start that eren did nothing wrong and then went back on that statement when rob asked her about her specific stance
logically Eren did nothing wrong but morally he did, even if you receive wrong doings you shouldnt do that person wrong too, your supposed to take it but in reality no one is a moral saint, if someone is going to attack my household then i am going to defend my household
I get what the guy with the dreads was tryna say about how one piece has fans that can drive other people away from the anime, but so does dragon ball, Naruto, mha, etc. It can literally be applied to any big fandom. It just seemed to me that he was trying to say the same thing that everyone else has said for multiple years, but in a more condescending way to one piece fans, as if he had something completely against them (ESPECIALLY to Rob for some reason, even though he isn’t even pushy about people not liking one piece).
TLDR - This is about The Big 3 if you care enough. So The Big 3 originates from Shueisha's/Shounen Jump's "Golden Trio". There have been 3 generations AFAIK with OP, Naruto, and Bleach being the most recent. Before this it was Dragon Ball, Yuyu Hakusho, and Slam Dunk I believe, that was iteration 2. My point being, The Golden Trio, or The Big 3 originates from Shounen Jump, so the next generation will likely all have to be shounen, since Shounen Jump will have to be the one publishing them. With that said, I think its safe to take out things like AoT since Shounen Jump did not publish it, therefore it doesnt really matter how great AoT is because whatever publisher did it, probably has its own thing coming for AoT anniversarys and shit. As much as I dislike Demon Slayer's overhype, it should definitely be in the "new" Big 3 if there was one right now. Demon Slayer and JJK for sure in my mind would take 2 spots, as for the 3rd idk, Black Clover is also a big contender I would think. I might even pick Black Clover over My Hero, but you have to take into account things like manga sales, popularity, merch, etc. These are the things that decides Shounen Jumps "Golden Trio", and by extension The Big 3. So if a new Big 3 era happened TODAY, it would for sure be Demon Slayer AND JJk atleast, + 1 more, Im not sure if I believe its My Hero, but maybe.
Aizen is one of the most complex characts of all time, actually i could have participated here as bleach having one of the best cast of all time and I have a whole ted talk about character journey and development. The whole loneliness theme and the insurgence against the absent god (spoiler territory for CFYOW) What she said is really cool cuz aizen scarred ichigo's past (Yhwach kinda as well), ginjo and tsukishima RUINED HIM in the present (one of the lowest points of any shonen mc compared to "I couldnt save a single of my nakama" by luffy but in a more psychological way) and Yhwach kinda destroyed a part of ichigo's future (manga spoilers iykyk)
That one girl actually crazy "what's my argument" my argument is she twisted the facts to fit the narrative she was spinning with no actual based statistics
i think one piece has decent character development robin and nami devloped from sacrificing everyone for their good to sacrificing themselves for luffy's honour.Zoro who told luffy that he will kill him if he had to sacrifice his dream because of luffy to sacrifing his dream to protect luffy. chopper, bon clay, helmeppo and coby has pretty decent character development too. not to forget sanji and law who have the best character development in whole one piece. One piece is a long series with ton of characters it would take centuries to give proper development to each character and since oda doesn't focus on only main character and his rival( ....cogh cogh.... you know which anime i am talking about ) he cannot give some crazy character development to any one or two characters.
Of course Luffy would react with rage after thinking he lost the ONLY thing he had left after ace's death. Remember when Jimbei asked Luffy what he still had and he said his crew?
Ace's death was for the story's and stakes development not th characters relating to it and also Ace was mainly shown Alabasta and right after that we see him for th Blackbeard right after than the whole marine ford arc also shower his development itself by his origins, past and present situation His development made way more sense than entire Naruto's Talk no jutsu and Destiny's Speech to Neji as Ace Was basically Stan Lee got all the recognition and development right in the end does that mean Stan Lee''s works sucked, One Piece Characters have development but it focus more on story rather than character we see the insignificant development once the arc is based on them as Even Robin is not focused ij the stories that much as much as Zoro and Sanji has given in Wano and Whole Cake Island respectively!
The third girl was crazy but it was worth the laugh. I almost die of laughing, i agree with her in general but personally i dont drop that much shows. Either if its new or old it can go to any anime show tbh. But again, it was funny as fuck.
@mintygacha7759 I didn't get to finish typing, I was referring to adaptation-wise, the flaws from the adaptations such as, filler, pacing, censorship & it's model on how it adapted the manga shows how hard it can get to get into the shows nowadays, that especially if you combine its shows (ex. Naruto+Naruto Shippuden+Boruto)(Bleach+BleachTYBW)
Brruuuh. Gabe is so bias! Lol the argument was that Demon Slayer is the best starter anime and he says nahh because its bringing in too many normies! What!? 😂 yes, thats what starter animes do! Lol
One piece's length gives it a massive advantage when it comes to being debated. People who debate against it need to have watched the entire anime or read the manga in order for the fans not to tear them up for not being caught up, and why would you commit to reading or watching something that long if you don't absolutely love it? If more people were able to watch it, there would be more people who genuinely want to point out the flaws and make good points against it. Also people who have watched it for that long probably have a subconscious bias towards it, nothing they can do about that.
eren gained power to stop everything from happening in the first place and instead he was the one who sent the titan to eat his own mother to ensure perpetual circle of hate and destruction. eren is reason anything and everything happened so every hate, every kill, every misery is ON HIM.
Dude , That guy voiced my entire opinion on One Piece , I love One Piece but the fan base is just like ‘I am disappointed it’s not your favorite thing of all time’ and ‘How do you even think about stuff other than One Piece’ , Man , If you love One Piece , I don’t give a shit , I don’t think it’s the best thing that ever happened to me and that is my opinion. I had a friend who loves One Piece a lot , Like a very toxic amount. I started One Piece cause it was on my bucket list and my friend also asked me to , But then , I wanted to take breaks and watch it and my own pace and he would just shout and swear at me every time I took a break from One Piece. That made me not wanna start One Piece again , Although I am glad I did , It’s a great show , But the fan base is just so irritating , Now There are people out there who aren’t toxic to people who don’t solely think about One Piece , I am aware of this , But there are also people like my friend who are toxic and annoying
Starting at 57:10, I'm proud of him for sticking up for Sakura fans out there. I think she is pretty cool overall, the fans sometimes don't know when to appreciate characters that pull their weight, that lay their lives on the line to help others. Which leads me to think about a lot of other hot takes as far as Naruto goes: Is Tsunade the weakest of the Sanin, given how the other two went out? That also applies for the fanservice bit here, where that girl slipped on saying women can be useless; Mikasa from Attack on Titan is one of the prominent characters from that show. As for being simped on, I could think of at least ten other people (outside of MHA) more fitting of that archetype than Rabbit Hero.
The second part of this where its about OP character development, for the most part the characters were already developed in their own right before setting off with Luffy, also OP is more of a world development anime rather than character, like slime
The anime longevity thing is just our minds remembering the good stuff from 10+ years ago and filtering out the barrage of garbage we sat through. Compared to today where there's many more good shows out there, but the mediocre ones are more present in our memory. In 10 more years we'll have forgotten all of them too.
I'm gonna say I agree with the second guy. I think everybody with coc has no character development. however I think this is more of a positive to the story, luffys whole character is based on not avoiding fights he can't win but instead getting stronger so he can win the fights. I think ace's death showed luffy that he had to get strong enough that nothing like that would happen again. in other words. people with conquerors haki change the world to adapt to themselves while others change themselves to adapt to the world also if luffy changed because ace died then that'd just show he gave up on his dream of living freely how he wants to live no matter what. luffy's character and will is an immovable object and oda would be blundering if he didn't keep it that way
I would argue against the take about anime losing longevity, and pose that the main factors at play may be shortening attention spans and changing formats in entertainment media And of course, there's the audience growing up: either being short on time to get invested in new shows as they used to or getting entrenched in the things they first enjoyed as kids.
Bro missed such an opportunity to mention FraudKuna from JJK. 51:33. Top 6 frauds in anime. And shoulda added.- FraudKuna. Gojo the king of frauds. In the anime what did he do. 1.Bullied Jogoat (little to no reason) 2. Threatens to kill the order of sorcerers to keep control. 3. Forces Yuji to work to eat dirty old fingers just to kill him in the end. 4.Does nothing but fan service and slight comedic relief. 5.Bro let mechamaru one of his students die to Mahito just cause he snitched to get his body since he in constant pain. (Like bro has never suffered in his life ofcourse bro became a snitch that’s human greed Mechamaru also found ways to help his friends after death.) 6.1) Tries to rizz up the girl he was hired to bodyguard.(she was 15, Gojo is 19. Super senior.) 6.5) dies to A monkey zenin called Toji when he was the strongest sorcerer. Came back alive just to kill a single farther and steal their child (Megumin) for profit 💰. 6. Does nothing in Shibuta except kill hanami (tree curse) and then gets trapped just to cause more trouble in the manga. Bruhh. Spoilers. 7. Comes back just to get folded by sukana. Strongest sorcerer…. NAHHHH FRAUDKUNA.?!
If the girl that wasn’t planning one watching one piece sees this: I’d recommend either watching one PACE (which is a big project that has been done by big fans of the show, and have made the pacing basically 10 times better) or reading the manga. For me personally, I could get through close to 40 to 50 chapters done easily in only a few hours.
First of all Ace didnt die for ntg. When luffy went at Kaido it was bcs he thought Kaido hurt what was most precious to him, put urself in his situation, of course he wouldn't care abt the plan at this point, you don't need to change a character's morality and demeanor for character development to happen. PTS we've seen countless times how Luffy matured and learned since Ace's death he followed countless plans through Fishman Island, Whole Cake and his understanding of life in general changed. What Rob said is true, Ace's death shifted the fate of the world as a whole since it allowed Blackbeard to rise up and ultimately defeat the WB pirates, it allowed the Dressrosa events, Marcos appearence in Wano, and if we talk about his character development, he was meant to be like this the son of Gol D. Roger the one that had everything to be the King, but hes been told he had cursed blood through his whole life and wanted to see if his life had any value so he went out too sea seeking for an answer. At the moment of his death he came to the conclusion that he was seeking for love and the only thing that kept him alive was his bond to his brothers and the Wb pirates, so he comes to peace at his end knowing he had value for atleast something besides being a cursed child. Thats Aces development right there a misunderstood character bcs people had different expectations for him, but One Piece shows again its up to the fate of the World to decide someones future. Second of all Sabos character has a whole different pourpose than Aces but his death did help introducing him but as you can see Sabo was introduced perfectly into the story in the big spectrum. Now talking about the guy that said the One Piece fanbase is toxic The flaws that he mentions are just not smtg that can apply to One Piece in specific, it will always be hard to maintain the pacing in such a multi layered long-running shōnen it would be close to impossible and reaally unrealistic. To fix pacing problems, you would have to make the anime seasonal or monthly, and you know damn well Toei and Oda are not doing that stupidity of chaging one piece's weekly schedule bcs of a pacing problem when we kept watching and reading with it for 20yrs straight. The character development problem is also related to oda not being immortal and having limits too(the story is waaay too long for every character to be explored the same way), I don't think much more character development is needed since One Piece is an "Odissey" meaning its continuos journey, and on top of that he still delivers more fulfilling backstories and deeper characters than most anime would. He also mentioned his complaints about the fandom but every fandom has somebody who doesnt want to argue necessarily but still think the story is great and dont see the flaws, absolutely true! One piece fans are growing everyday meaning more people like this will pop up, js like Naruto back in the day, DBZ, even JJK fans that are not even keeping up with their own show right. but you can't put One Piece fans on the spot bcs biases are normal, its not toxic its part of the Fun of being in the anime community, atleast i see it that way.
Fr he was doing way too much in this one. He's gotta get control of that One Piece hate. It just makes it unenjoyable to watch when he just shits on the series every 10 seconds.
That fraud guy was tweaking tbh, the whole point of some of those characters is that they are a fraud and yet they do acts that are genuine, king holding off the monsters and helping take them out he was scared but he stood tall, Hercule malkng people pitch in last second to give energy to the spirit bomb and save the world. But the most egregious one was Reigen the guy who literally grows with mob takes him him starts to care for him and shows him true love and care like wth man. TLDR: he just pissed me off with an ass hot take lmao
I am another one piece manga lover who isn't even interested in the straw hats, post time skip they haven't developed at all. Ace could have survived if he made one intelligent move in his life
35:49 another thing that bleach has thats better than naruto and one piece is the music especially ranbu no melody, eien, endroll, escalon, clavar la espada, rapport, the latest opening stars, and scar
58:46 it's worse than that . Griffith got jelly cuz he was losing his boyfriend Guts after putting in his mind that he should be his equal to be his friend.
9:10 - no the brother trio is only mentioned AFTER ace's death. BRPump is right. He died for nothing so much so that Oda made a new character and connected it with Ace's tattoo
We can clearly see from Gabe's and Rob's behaviour what impact they had after watching animes. Rob is calm and takes decision rationally while Gabe is childish.

That was realistic to me. I don't understand the hate towards Ace doing that. Sure he died but that's life.
@@Drakenlordfax
If Ace didn't die he would blame himself because of him everything was gone he will feel guilty for the rest of his life
I don't get why people don't get why ace did what he did ... like he has always been stubborn ever since he was a kid it's his personality, his character.

Fax perfect story too and very relatable anime
100% agree and im so glad it made S tier on the last tier list
Without Ace’s death luffy would have never realized death was a real threat to him. He humbled himself and put his entire dream on hold because he saw for the first time how unprepared he was. He never would have even known or thought to do this without Ace. Him going after Kaido at that moment was a first reaction to seeing what you’ve trained soo much to prevent actually happening again, losing the ones you love. I don’t think it’s fair to say he has no character development at all because of that one time.
Well more so the death of those he care for kinda. Since episode one, Luffy always knew there was a good chance he’d die but to quote him.
“If I die trying then that’s okay with me.”
It was something alone that line and this turns out later to be proven when buggy was literally an inch away from slicing his next off back when smoker was introduced.
What?

PTS?? pre time skip or post time skip
Isn't that just compared to one piece character development and not compared to good character development?
@@badmagik8957 I always think pre time skip for PTS sorry mb lol

Pleasantly surprised to see a take about Sakamoto Days and I agree with her take. The characters really are the selling point of the manga; I found myself attached to the characters after reading a few chapters.
Idk I read it for the action, which is fantastic, but frankly I could not tell you what the actual plot is, I just don’t care in those case.
🫡🫡 pushing the Sakamoto Days Agenda one video at a time!
Yes, I agree with almost everything you said, but the fact remains, Ace died for nothing ngl
Ace died for nada... Ace's death is sitting next to Neji...
Trying to say say that OP has poor character development by using the death of (arguably) the most developed character on the entire series is crazy

Expecting someone like Luffy to do the rational decision after seeing his friends potentially being killed is crazy lmao!! Ace died for nothing? 💀
Blackbeard wouldn't be HIM if Ace hadn't died.

Anime is so much more mainstream now, limiting to a big 3 is stupid
Thats my pitch, thank you sharks
Totally agree with this w take
Bc there were other anime around the big 3 as well like hxh (1999), gintama, inuyasha, fairytail, deathnote etc.

Ive been dying for more anime shark tank, FINALLY
Thank you. I appreciate this.
Aizen is one of the most complex characts of all time, actually i could have participated here as bleach having one of the best cast of all time and I have a whole ted talk about character journey and development. The whole loneliness theme and the insurgence against the absent god (spoiler territory for CFYOW)
What she said is really cool cuz aizen scarred ichigo's past (Yhwach kinda as well), ginjo and tsukishima RUINED HIM in the present (one of the lowest points of any shonen mc compared to "I couldnt save a single of my nakama" by luffy but in a more psychological way) and Yhwach kinda destroyed a part of ichigo's future (manga spoilers iykyk)

i think one piece has decent character development robin and nami devloped from sacrificing everyone for their good to sacrificing themselves for luffy's honour.Zoro who told luffy that he will kill him if he had to sacrifice his dream because of luffy to sacrifing his dream to protect luffy. chopper, bon clay, helmeppo and coby has pretty decent character development too. not to forget sanji and law who have the best character development in whole one piece.
One piece is a long series with ton of characters it would take centuries to give proper development to each character
and since oda doesn't focus on only main character and his rival( ....cogh cogh.... you know which anime i am talking about ) he cannot give some crazy character development to any one or two characters.
Luffy has zero development
Yay more shonen

As for being simped on, I could think of at least ten other people (outside of MHA) more fitting of that archetype than Rabbit Hero.
we're in new York remember that
The second part of this where its about OP character development, for the most part the characters were already developed in their own right before setting off with Luffy, also OP is more of a world development anime rather than character, like slime
One piece underdevelops characters?!... Really interesting pitch
Eren commits mass genocide and kills BILLIONS that had NOTHING to do with the Marlyans and he did “nothing wrong?”; come on now 🤦🏾♂️
The anime longevity thing is just our minds remembering the good stuff from 10+ years ago and filtering out the barrage of garbage we sat through.
I think ace's death showed luffy that he had to get strong enough that nothing like that would happen again. in other words. people with conquerors haki change the world to adapt to themselves while others change themselves to adapt to the world
also if luffy changed because ace died then that'd just show he gave up on his dream of living freely how he wants to live no matter what. luffy's character and will is an immovable object and oda would be blundering if he didn't keep it that way
I would argue against the take about anime losing longevity, and pose that the main factors at play may be shortening attention spans and changing formats in entertainment media And of course, there's the audience growing up: either being short on time to get invested in new shows as they used to or getting entrenched in the things they first enjoyed as kids.

Now talking about the guy that said the One Piece fanbase is toxic
The flaws that he mentions are just not smtg that can apply to One Piece in specific, it will always be hard to maintain the pacing in such a multi layered long-running shōnen it would be close to impossible and reaally unrealistic.
One piece fans are growing everyday meaning more people like this will pop up, js like Naruto back in the day, DBZ, even JJK fans that are not even keeping up with their own show right. but you can't put One Piece fans on the spot bcs biases are normal, its not toxic its part of the Fun of being in the anime community, atleast i see it that way.
i aint reading allat
its aight dw abt it@@gavinni3998
This video was so well made. I respect and love all the sharks/producers/editors/contestants and would love to see more of this kinda of content
Ngl gabe gotta chill out like bruv
Fr he was doing way too much in this one. He's gotta get control of that One Piece hate. It just makes it unenjoyable to watch when he just shits on the series every 10 seconds.
He's irritating.
@@SpaceTriangles67 yet i can agree with him tbh
That fraud guy was tweaking tbh, the whole point of some of those characters is that they are a fraud and yet they do acts that are genuine, king holding off the monsters and helping take them out he was scared but he stood tall, Hercule malkng people pitch in last second to give energy to the spirit bomb and save the world. But the most egregious one was Reigen the guy who literally grows with mob takes him him starts to care for him and shows him true love and care like wth man.
TLDR: he just pissed me off with an ass hot take lmao
You should definitely make more of these, good for the anime community and good takes too, w video, w host’s, and w contestants.
Love the content man them chibi scenes were something else😂 she had some wild tangents can't even call em takes
I am another one piece manga lover who isn't even interested in the straw hats, post time skip they haven't developed at all.
Ace could have survived if he made one intelligent move in his life
"No I'm not saying Eren did nothing wrong!"
Literally began her pitch by saying the exact words "Eren did nothing wrong"
@GRANTENTIAL deserves a 100 dollars because it’s rare to see a fan supporting MHA in some form. I give him my respect
Gabe is extemly funny I would love to see him again on something simmalrly to this
35:49 another thing that bleach has thats better than naruto and one piece is the music especially ranbu no melody, eien, endroll, escalon, clavar la espada, rapport, the latest opening stars, and scar
Music is debatable ngl because Naruto also has good as osts and openings
Because bleach only better in music
I love Gabe’s character man😂
I love it when gabe just snaps.
Her face lol 45:39
loooool this might be the most creative and genius idea I've seen in a minute
Rob always thinking out the box dropping a banger 🔥🔥
58:46 it's worse than that . Griffith got jelly cuz he was losing his boyfriend Guts after putting in his mind that he should be his equal to be his friend.
Hashira podcast was spitting facts ngl even though I love op
9:10 - no the brother trio is only mentioned AFTER ace's death. BRPump is right. He died for nothing so much so that Oda made a new character and connected it with Ace's tattoo
We need episode two ASAP!!!!
We can clearly see from Gabe's and Rob's behaviour what impact they had after watching animes. Rob is calm and takes decision rationally while Gabe is childish.
This segment is fire bro. We need more of this
I dont know if i can get behind dudes One Piece fandom take because thats pretty much ALL fandom lol.
Nah it’s literally fax though and one piece fans do it the most like they literally cannot accept the flaws in the series even though it’s literally visible
@@Thatfan864 most One Piece agree that the Manga is better and the pacing of the anime is bad. I think yall just need to stay off of Twitter lol because that's where all the toxic fans are. One Piece, naruto, hxh, mha, you name it
@@Thatfan864I wish there were statistics of people saying OP fans are toxic vs sighted toxic OP fans
