Thank you so much for this tutorial! 💥
Nice one, Mike! Just to make sure, you can't use your own Adobe license on >>client
Not anymore, you used to be able to. I haven't used them on a client site in a while, but if you needed to they need to have their own Creative Cloud plan. It doesn't make much sense to be honest because you aren't physically giving them any font files because you don't even own them. It would be like GeneratePress saying every client you build a site for has to have their own account.
@@MikeOliverDesign Yeah, I think it's just them trying to protect their IP so some agency doesn't go out there and farm out thousands of copies of their font off of one license.
OMG thank you.. Tried to figure this out a year or so ago and just got confused..
Glad it helped, thanks Brad
Ah that’s an excellent tutorial! Thanks Mike. By the way, do you notice any delay/pagespeed issues compared to self hosted fonts?
I have been loading my fonts locally for a while now, but when I used Typekit I did not see much delay if any. If you're concerned you could always preload the Adobe stylesheet with something like Perfmatters. I would also use Swap to cover any delay if there is one.
So this works on the front end and in the customizer however the font just defaults to serif in the block editor. Hmmm.
You’ll need a PHP snippet to see the fonts in the block editor. Check the GP forums or I’ll share it when I’m at a computer.
Hi, how can we upload and use our own custom fonts with generatepress? I tried few instruction but nothing worked so far.
Did you follow these instructions from the GP docs? docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-local-fonts/
Another question is, Is this ok if we use adobe font like you guided on video? Is there any issue in future?
This is for Adobe Fonts, I see no issues in the future.
you need adobe subscription for this
