    Well for an hours worth of data you're gotta be happy with that, hopefully you'll get more data put together between you both & come up with something spectacular.
    Look forward to seeing the collab clear skies

    The whole W.O. line is great, nice work for the short amount of data.

    I also bought the WO 71 GT in gold. Believe me, you won't look back at the 72 ED scope you sold. The WO 71 is beautifully made. The focus system is extremely robust with no tilt, play or slippage. I added the WO camera rotator which is really handy along with the matching adjustable FF/FR.

      I have to completely agree, it is a beautifully made scope!

      @@AstroExploring I have the same GT71 in Gold. I just ordered a camera angle rotator as well. I hope it will help in positioning the target right. Also, I heard it helps in making mosaics with my small ASI533MC Pro camera.
      Your decision to get GT71 is perfect 👍🏼👍🏼.

    That's a great scope you have now, I'm pleased you managed to sell your sw 72ed eventually. The stars with the new scope are amazing, nice nice image for 1 hour in full moon ,just adding your scope to my growing pie in the sky wishlist, clear skies

    Absolutely amazing result with all those constraints Nick!
    I have a 72ED and a ASI183 MC Pro, and I was never able to get an Eastern Veil nebula photo as good as yours… not even close 😀
    The L-Extreme has been a complete deception for me. Maybe it’s faulty or my bortle 7 sky doesn’t help…
    Take care and Clear skies!!
    P.S: humm… almost convinced me to swap my 72ED by the WO…😉

Sorry to burst you bubble I’m in the S.E. Corner of Kent and guess what it’s cloudy. First time for several days. Good luck tonight. Clear skies.

    Your 1 hour looks better than my 3 hours 😂 nice image mate. We all knew when you said there may be no issues with the new scope that yoi were actually foreshadowing terrible issues on the horizon. Good result for the challenges, well done and congrats on that new scope, its a beauty. I've always had an eye on WO scopes

    Great video. I also have a GT 71 and a ASI533MC-Pro. You said you might look at a focuser. I recommend the SESTO SENSO 2 from PrimaLuceLab. It does require an extra adapter to attach to the GT 71. I found it gets a way better focus than the ZWO EAF that bought first. The other two great features of the Sesto Senso is that if you remove the power from the focuser you can manually move the focuser. (Not recommended with the EAF). The other feature is the built-in Wifi of the Sesto Senso with allows you to connect via a smartphone to make adjustments when you are not controlling the focuser from your other software. I used NINA as my control software and find that SS2 works extremely well with the autofocus routine of NINA. Keep up with the content. Thanks heaps.

    Already a nice image Nick with only one hour of integration time, but it certainly needs a lot more data, great job already !
    Why did you choose the WO GT71 and not for example the Esprit80 ?

    @ninjageezer6802 Рік тому

    Nick did you find the sweet spot for your back focus with the adjustable FF .i guess with the 533 its not that critical but with my larger sensor its critical and ive still not found it.....all i know its not the the recommended lol...

    Great news on the new scope, looks like you're on to a winner with just one hour. I was fighting my own camera connection demons during the heat. Managed to get some time on the western veil 👍
    Tempted to come back to astroberry, do you ever do multiple targets in one night?

    • @AstroExploring
      @AstroExploring  2 роки тому

      Thanks Tom! I tend not to do more than one target a night so that I can get more integration time on just one target. That being said, over winter when astro dark lasts for basically 10 hours I do sometimes image more than one target so that I can image all night long!

    A really nice image, especially for first light on a new scope and only an hours worth of data! Do you have any interest in testing this scope on the Star Adventurer? I know that at 2.95kg (a full kg heavier than the Evostar) without accounting for any guiding equipment, you're definitely pushing against the theoretical limits of the mount. However, I think it would be interesting to see how long of an exposure you could get without star trailing. It would give a real-world/practical upper limit for those of us with the SWSA. Thanks for all your content (especially the processing tutorials)!

    • @AstroExploring
      @AstroExploring  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Matthew! I haven’t got any plans to use it with the SWSA. I think it’ll be too heavy but I can give it a go

    Great image Nick for 1 hour of data. I nearly always shoot 6 minute subs with my WO gear, ZWO cameras and the mount, with EKOS in control is more than capable. There are exceptions to this though as when imaging bright objects like Orion nebula I will just take many 30 second or 1 minute subs and that stops any bloat or blow out of the core. The only downside is it takes a long time to process the subs which could be in the high hundreds to 1000+

    • @AstroExploring
      @AstroExploring  2 роки тому

      Thanks Terry! Next time I’ll be out doing at least 5 minute subs I think!

    I just purchased the flt91 and I’m waiting on it to arrive. I currently own the redcat 51, and an 8 inch sct. I needed something in between the two lol. Love the redcat but sometimes a little more FL would be nice and the sct is overkill for some targets. I should have everything I need when it arrives…..for awhile. Lol this hobby is an absolute money pit but it’s worth every penny. Nice scope and cool video man!!!

    Very nice indeed! I have a similar setup. WO GT81. Same camera, same filter. I too have had far too many distractions to put it all to use. Question I have is whether or not you took any calibration frames to use for processing? Looking forward to more tremendous images from your new scope. Cheers.

    Can I ask, what was the issue focusing the WO ?

    • @AstroExploring

      It was with the adjustable flattener. I had looked up what distance it should be but I was using it wrong. Once I’d adjusted they properly it took just a minute to focus!
