This trailer shows images from the episode "On the hills" made in Urlati, Prahova with electric bikes. It was an eMTB tour with spectacular landscapes, quite demanding especially because of the burning sun. It is a fantastic area, which is worth exploring, especially on two wheels!

INFORMATION:
Urlati is a town in Prahova County, Muntenia, Romania, consisting of the component localities of Arioneștii Noi, Arioneștii Vechi, Cherba, Jercălăi, Mărunțiș, Orzoaia de Jos, Orzoaia de Sus,[ Schiau, Ulmi, Urlați (residence), Valea Bobului, Valea Crângului, Valea Mieilor, Valea Nucetului, Valea Pietrei, Valea Seman and Valea Urloii.
Most of the component localities start like rays, from the eponymous locality in the center.
According to the Population Statistics in September 2021, the city has a population of 11,583 inhabitants.
Urlati could be a derivation of the Slavic translation of the hydronym Cricov (from krik "shout", "howl"). There would also be a Hungarian etymological version: Urlați would represent a Romanian adaptation of the Hungarian term Váralatt "Subcetate" (the toponyms Orlat, Urlat have the same etymology). Urlati was the seat of a former Săcuieni county until 1645 at the latest, and the name Secuieni would suggest the medieval immigration of some Hungarian ethnic elements from the Secuieni seats.
Nicolae Iorga, in his volume of Urlățene Documents, originally published in the Bulletin of the Historical Commission of Romania, in 1927 (then edited and excerpted), asked himself the question: "where does this name come from?", which he cataloged in other party as indecipherable nickname. And he also answers:
"The etymology that would appear at the beginning would connect the name to the verb to howl. But this would not make any sense. We have to look for nonsense. We also found the form Orlați. This would refer us to the radical Orlu, Orlea, the final would be the Slavonian -aț, which is found, it is true, in other regions, those near the Serbian Danube (actually Bulgarian - nn), from our Romanaț (shouldn't the Galatians also be of the same origin? ) to Craguievaţul and Crușevaţul of the Serbs".
