In a day of dramatic developments in the Supreme Court of India - Prashant Bhushan stood his ground when asked if he would consider an apology. Not even wanting the extra days that were being offered for a ‘rethink’ - a combative Bhushan said "I do not ask for mercy. I do not appeal for magnanimity. I cheerfully submit to any punishment that the court may impose.”
In this special episode of the deshbhakt we recreate what happened in the apex court (since sadly - proceedings are still off-camera) Bhushan clearly is now ready to face action because he says that his core complaint and explanations were not heeded to. Will the court now find a way out in 2 days - will Bhushan’s point be heard - or will other voice be drowned! Also important to hear how arguments are carried out in the top court (detailed article / tweets attached below)
Now the SC has given Bhushan time till August 24 to submit an unconditional apology - failing which the court will pronounce it's order on punishment to be handed down to Bhushan.

@@itsNirbhayPS I am giving exam and I want it to postponed.....I am an average student and I definitely know that even if exam gets postponed till next two years my performance will be average only.
The reason I am asking for postponement is because both my parents are diabetic and susceptible to this virus. Plus it is monsoon season and what if I get normal viral fever and Then Corona...I don't want to live the rest of my life with permanent lung damage. Also I will not be able to live with myself of I get corona through exam centre and then pass it on to my parents and they suffer. In your other comments you were saying that young adults are roaming freely....well I don't know where you are from but I am from Pune and Pune has overtaken Mumbai and trust me no one is here roaming around without any reason. Only a few weeks ago a 43 year old man died in my area and one Corona patient in my society had to be admitted to hospital.
Also because of 25 lakhs students out of which 12-13 lakhs are gonna appear all at once(for Neet) this will lead to many new cases putting burden on an already broken system. USA has declared a zero academic year and they have better healthcare facilities then us.

Only a Historian would decide few years later who should be held for contempt of democracy.
How many are really interested in History now a days.. if we look around us closely we'll see that a certain group of people are trying very hard to mould our history.. for e.g. a lot many are trying to come out strongly in support of Nathuram Godse and they would happily honour him instead of Gandhiji... I think It's not the historians who need to decide I believe that the onus is on us right now.. Prashant Bhushan is one such man.. afterall not everyone who fought for freedom was Bhagat Singh or Gandhiji.. I'm not trying to compare him with these great leaders.. I just mean to say he did what he felt should be done... And so did these great leaders.. it takes courage to do what is right.. when it is actually right.. coz with time the definition of right and wrong also changes..

“Appointment of Judges in High Courts and Supreme Court should be limited to One Year only”. And should make such laws to not allow them to make ego clashes in between the Advocates and other Constitutional functionaries. More over there should be a restriction for them in making decisions on the basis the Question of Law only. And not according their Whims and Fancies or for their cheep popularities. If it goes beyond what they are bound should be criticized and proper steps need to be taken against such arrogant Judges through People’s Court if Government does not take steps. Peoples' will are the strongest power in Democracy. I support Mr. Prashant Bhushan. I do not think that Judges have some impunity. What Mr. Prashant Bhushan has done the right thing where others do not dare. Most of the present Judgments from the Supreme courts are not on the basis of Natural Justice or on Law. It can be seen in Ayodhya Case. Demolishing of Flats in Kerala. Due to the demolition who is the most sufferers; only the common people, who spent their hard earned money for their dream Houses. What was really gained out of this demolition process? Only for cheap Popularity Hundreds of lay men were becomes the Victims of these Blunders. The Court should have punished the actual conspirators for life time and those who given approvals instead of punishing the poor lay men. Decisions must “not only be fair but it seemed to be fair” also. “Power Corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” We afraid the lack of applying Judicial mind in matters of controversies in most of the present Decisions of the apex Court are dangerous. These realities attracts the non-confidence of people in Courts. Very shameful

The people who you see are speaking. You see these people in power are corrupt and even they know that and thats the reason they want to play by the book. But when they try to play by the book they get trapped so they try to change the book. Now the problem here is out laws most of that apply in this case are very firm as they arent just Indian but international as international laws were taken as reference when making them. So they get trapped, same is happening here, the justices are getting trapped in their own game. They made a wrong move intoxicated by the power.
Very little faith in the SC now. So very sad to see what this sacred institution has become. Bhushan is right on the money and extremely courageous to take this stand. May the force be with him!

@@indopew2319 Often what happens to others we don't feel, imagine a situation where a criminal commits misdeed to harm you in any way, police won't take charges or investigate, you go to court, indirectly you are told to compromise or hear statement in favour of the criminal just because he has political affiliation with BJP.
