I was in NYC, going to art college in Manhattan. I was a freshman but I heard one song from these boys and I knew I had to go. I get my ticket, head my way downtown to a club in the East Village called “The World”. This is 1987? No cell phones, no internet, I don’t know anything about them. Headed to the club and this will become one of the best shows I will ever see. janes became my new Led Zeppelin,
That's AWESOME!! There are a bunch of pics from that show online! I heard the "heads-on-fire Nothing's Shocking" twins were projected on the back wall, and Perry had cherry red dreads and wore a child's Bozo the Clown Halloween costume, and he smashed Dave Navarro's guitar at the end of the show. Wild!!
@@kevindemattianot just pics.. there’s a video of that show on YT too. Just watched it last week for the first time. Great show.. until Perry threw Dave’s guitar down.. that was dicky Perry 😂
@@Fatty-qh5jx There is most definitely NOT a video of the World show on UA-cam! No video from that show has surfaced yet. But man, I WISH there was a vid of that performance!! You might be thinking of the Chicago 1988 show, that's a pretty famous early boot of them.
R.J. said ' cocaine's a helluva a drug man ". ' Love these boys genius and enthusiasm. I'm 63 and loved J.A. since they first hit the scene. Before Grunge the Pixies and J.A. did it for me.
got to love good old perry and especially when he looks so fucking sexy in these clips back in the day, or when everyone was alot younger including me!!!!!!
In Minnesota, 1st row with my ex on my shoulders, shrooming my brains out, telling her to take as many pics as she could. Most turned out shitty since I just had to fucking rock out. Life changing concert. Fucking Love Jane's Addiction.
He might not be the best singer in a live situation, but Perry knows how to write a fuckin melody. The stuff he lays down over everyone else's great playing really ties each song together wonderfully and really compliments the music as a whole.
actually, that was an insanely singular transcendent psychedelic vocal performance, no one else on earth could do that.. not one person. he can’t even do it… it was so out of this world powerful. tremendous. heart piercing.

Mostly Eric Avery wld lay the foundation for Janes songs I heard..but love Perry..in these days esp.
@@mergingmarky8274 Eric brought the hipppie-rhythmic tribal sound to JA. When he left their sound was never the same.
@@redriderbbgun8018 along with Perkins .. TOTALLY

Man I loved all of Perry’s early phases. He kept it so interesting.
I saw this tour. They were on fire
Montreal 1991 … anyone else there ? Unreal show

Weird to see Perry in that outfit. He looks like someone who could be your sisters boyfriend.
Perry totally went through an ese barrio look phase for a bit during that time.

Mountain View California
Flash in the pan ?
Fuck off . . . an argument can be made that JA was THE most influential band of the last 35 years
They were at the forefront of the "alternative" movement . Their impact is anything but a "flash in the pan"
5 yrs later how ya feel now idiot
@@jestermindcrime1773 What has JA done in the last 5yrs?
