Not feasible. Unlike other cities, Coimbatore is a stagnant city and is not growing, as businesses are actually leaving Coimbatore for other big cities. Tirupur is growing quite a bit and they should have a metro lite there.

I myself have worked in the textile sector and the company does shit loads of exports every year and has enough competitors in the same city that does way more exports than them. People are sitting in Washington and talking trash about Coimbatore and if they can take their eyes off IT and stop thinking like minions of American overlords, they would recognise all the high profile local businesses flourishing not just in Coimbatore but all over Tamil Nadu. Coimbatore was already self sustainable even before the arrival of the IT & MNC companies. Coimbatore TIDEL park might be struggling to fill up their space, but why is the central government planning to construct aditional buildings at the venue? Why does WIPRO have their own place near the same TIDEL park? Do they not see the poor infrastructure as you are pointing out? I presume you don't even know about the other two IT parks in Saravanampatti. Those venues are occupied by tech giants and investment banking firms that employ thousands of people from the places you mentioned like Bengaluru, Pune, Surat and all over the country. Why do people from all those developed cities come to work in Coimbatore? I worked in HCL for a year and i can swear i worked with almost 200 people from Maharashtra, Karnataka and other states. CBE growth rate is 6% - amongst the lowest in the country. BLR and HYD are growing at 14-15%. Tiruppur is growing at 14%. What is left behind in CBE are blind people like you. Most educated people have to go to BLR and HYD for jobs. Even Hosut has more MSME industries than CBE and salaries are higher in both Tiruppur and Hosur. CBE is running on remittance from other cities as the City itself generates very few jobs for its young people.

That is all that matters - data - which is what investors look at and not the gigantic rant that you have written above. IT industry in Coimbatore has been a total bust and that is a fact. CBE growth rate is 6% - amongst the lowest in the country. BLR and HYD are growing at 14-15%. Tiruppur is growing at 14%. What is left behind in CBE are blind people like you. Most educated people have to go to BLR and HYD for jobs. Even Hosut has more MSME industries than CBE and salaries are higher in both Tiruppur and Hosur. CBE is running on remittance from other cities as the City itself generates very few jobs for its young people.
