Hi Chris, glad to see it has another home!! 😊😊 It is a 1978 model on a 1980 plate. Spoke to an old gentleman in Dorset who is the oracle for older Yamaha's and the vin number states it's a '78. You'll need this for any parts as some 80s parts won't fit the 78 model, such as battery! Enjoy it.... 😊😊
numewsm Great. Been stripping a little today. Found quite a few issues but hey, nearly 40 years old and will be a lot of fun to get sorted over the winter. Gary (who I bought it from) just can’t get the time, so my gain. It is also registered as Red so I’m gonna put it back to it. Thanks for getting back to me and let’s keep these amazing 2stroke beasts going.
@@bikepervert8247 yes it was red, 2 owners previous to me changed it to blue, love two strokes just hate how they are so finicky! 😂😂 My lad had it to learn on, but he was too big for it. Best of luck with the restoration, will need a video once completed?
I bought this bike yesterday!! I just checked the Reg. needs work but looking to restore with a little patina left on.

numewsm it won’t be a full restoration just getting it good. Will definitely try with a video.
