I'm saddened by the probable death of migratory birds here in Iceland, mainly the chicks. E.g. the bird oasis lake Mývatn that is a special area here for birds (many species). But it is almost 300 m high and the snow has accumulated more there
Snow for three consecutive days and nights , must be global warming, which we all know that you very much support.
Our weather can really put u in a bad mood! Even when the rain stops the cloud grey and chill continues!
Why do we always get stuck on the cold side of these blocks? Could it not just bugger off to where it came from and let us have some warmer weather for a change?

Get ready for it every body, we're going to have a repeat performance of 2007 and 2012. Cold, wet and damn right miserable. The only saving grace, the Met Office will tell us that it was one of the warmest Junes on record.

alot of that is solar energy, even if we're in a cooler air mass, the sun is still strong this time of year, essentially those rays are penetrating your windows and acting like a central heater on full blast, closed curtains will help but not much, you really need external window shutters (internal solid blinds will only stop heat escaping) insulation will stop hot air getting in & out, but solar energy is a difficult beast to control, & once the sun has cooked your house from the inside the insulation will prevent it from escaping

For me its a devastating summer, even our hot summers are to cool for me, but due to ill health I am stuck with the weather we get. I think all of June will be very cool.

@@sarahbrimfield7712 Of course not, but it was only two very hot days. 37.7C and 39.6C where I live near Nottingham. An example of what I mean is the coldest summer ever in New York is still 3C warmer than London.

@@alanjeffs-ep8lq Simply because it was. What I also believe is a lot of people don't understand "mean" (Central England) and how much effect the night time temps had on pushing up the month's average/mean.
@@thewhitbyphotographer So almost the whole Country thinks this is absolute Rubbish, but little you thinks it was the hottest May since records began, I think your just trying to be different, and ofcourse your assuming they are taking correct temperatures and not at airports like it's being reported.
@@alanjeffs-ep8lq I'm not that little. It comes down to maths/statistics. In reality, the day time temps were nothing special, probably lower than average in a lot of places, but the night time popped up the average. If you wanted to understand it you could do some research on what the figure actually means, or you could just attempt to belittle anyone who tries to point out it was actually correct.

With MrKorton”s comments about birds and other wildlife, this pattern certainly has shades of 2012 about it. Many farmland birds on my scientific studies back then had failed nests due to cold temperatures at night and barely recovering into the teens Fahrenheit during the day because of cloudy skies. The birds in my part of England so far in 2024 have bred well but I do fear for second broods and the later migrants arrivals if the sunshine doesn’t bring out the insects and invertebrates for the chicks. Thanks Mark. Every month this year has been very boring, no snow at all in winter and now cool as we start summer, however, at least we don't have the devastating heat

I'm predicting that we will have +41 degrees by about mid to possibly about late Jul. Jul 2022 was the hottest, Jul 2023 was one of thr coolest, plus we can't have this much rain for that long. So Jul 2024 will be +41 starting the historical drought by the start of the month maybe by the end of Jun.
Nonsense. 40C in the UK took exceptional conditions to align in 2022, which simply don't exist this year. We haven't had the exceptional warmth or dry spell which led upto it & made it happen... Plus a lot of models are showing more rain towards the end of this months. Sorry to dash your "hopes", but this is incredibly unlikely to happen, if not impossible at thus point.
I'll remind you of those words.

Exactly, 'flip around,' just what you said. When there is a cool or cold month, there WILL be a warm or hot month because eastern Europe got winter conditions in May where as we got what we should expect now or in July. Please answer me anyone. Why does no one get this!!!???!!!??? Feb 2023 was the driest so Mar 2023 was the wettest so Feb 2024 was ONE of the wettest and Mar 2024 was ONE of the driest. Same with now, June 2023 the hottest, June 2024 POTENTIALLY and will likely be one of the coolest. You see the cycle goes on with what we have at the moment, not just here but everywhere.
