Video request: could you both go over how to cover under eye circles properly? I know so many of us have this going on 😊 just a suggestion and love these videos!
@@morganraelee I have deep set eyes too! In fact I don’t know many who do like I do. I am of Italian decent and that is my main “flaw” I use a color corrector and then conceal but working on perfecting that
@@frostygal Yes!! It's genetic in my family. I just hate how that area is extra shadowed; it's so hard to conceal. But I JUST bought a color correcting palette and I'm so excited to try it out!!
I really love this format of having a convo with Nikki. You are expressing your opinion based on your experience and knowledge and then consulting with a professional. This is great! We don’t often consult with professionals. And you are modeling what it is like to have convos with them. Love love love these! Keep ‘em Coming Susan and Nikki 💗
@ Wayne Goss is an undisputable authority on makeup issues. Besides that, such a gem of a genuine gentlemen and human being, so humble and kind. A true expert on each and every step of applying makeup. I especially love his natural looking, minimal products approach taking into consideration every aspect of skincare, healthy one in the first place.
Wayne Goss actually has a few videos championing using concealer as foundation. I am sure it comes down to technique, formula, etc. Thanks for another video full of good ideas! 💗
I agree, I use concealer on areas where there’s few scarring. But I must say for myself I don’t wear make up and have good skin and never wear make up to work. I watch goss a lot I think being British we don’t heavily were alot. I’m from London uk, of Caribbean heritage my mother all her life 77yrs old today’s only wore red lipstick and has soft beautiful skin.
@@707tich I have a friend whose grandmother was from the Caribbean. Her skin was luminous and lovely, too. We were in awe of her complexion. She told us it came from growing up with good island air! You got good genes!
Thanks for this video. I'm guy with very pronounced dark circles. After consulting with a professional nothing can be done through surgery or even fillers. The best I can do is use concealer, but I have really been struggling in making it look natural so this video came out at the prefect time for me. I'll definitely check out the Ever Ultra HD liquid concealer.
I am a girl, and I have a very pronounced dark circles too, all my life. In video they do recommend tips for most people, but really, most people doesn’t really have such under eye circles - try search bloggers with the same problems who share their tips and tricks, fortunately, now there are a lot of helpful videos. I found a lot helpful tips and products specifically for my problem.
The easiest and most helpful tip: hydrate your under eye area with some cream before using concealer, you’ll get a feeling which amount of cream works best. With cream it’s less likely that concealer will crease or will be cakey. And you need to find right color and tone, maybe that’s why it doesn’t look natural.
Sunscreen (whether tinted or not) and concealer is actually my go to on an errands day so I wouldn’t call it a mistake 🤷🏼♀️ The more watery concealers absolutely can be blended out to the point where they still serve their purpose but you’re wearing way less makeup than if you’d gone in with foundation as well.
i’ve been having terrible creasing lately.. and I figured it out. It was my eye cream.. I can’t do skincare right before makeup or it looks terrible. it has to try down and set before I can put makeup on.
what do you recommend for dark circles ? need super hydrating and opaque. liquids just don't offer enough coverage. NARS products tend to be very dryiing (even though I use an eye cream) and Bobbi Brown and Mercier settle into creases.
Love this! Can you do a video with more application instruction please? For example, should you swoop it across the under eye or just in the corners? What about the eye lid?
Question: so my skintone was warm but under the eye was cool. I went for the cool because i only really use it for under the eye. Should i have gone warm to match the rest of my face?
It would have been useful if you discussed ensuring your primer/moisturiser or eye cream use a silicone or water based and that is consistent with whether the concealer is silicone based or water based concealer, that is the number one tip (mistake) you overlooked.
I use my foundation as a concealer. It works perfectly fine. My foundation, Smashbox Studio Skin Full Coverage 24H Foundation is wonderful to work with and stays in place through the hole day. By doing that I save a lot of money. ☺️ My biggest problem is to find the right shade for my foundation here in Sweden 🇸🇪♥️ My skintone is tan neutral olive ( I was born in India and came as an adopted to Sweden 1973). The shops who sells makeup probably thinks that everyone who is not white in Sweden have a Kardashian-skintone or is very deep dark toned. It's sooo soooo frustrating 😤😤🤬😤😤
What would you recommend for a male who is 45 in terms of concealing under the eyes and for setting? Men tend to have more lines on their face and in the eye area.
I love NARS radiant concealer but shade matching is such a struggle for me 😞 I have all the shades in minis thank God can’t afford all those until I find the right one. Was using Cannelle but seems to look orange on me so trying affacotto (so) I need a makeup artist help 😂
Great video! I Love your MAU Please put her in more videos! Learned a lot. Question, she said use brush to dust light layer of powder under the eye, but the video showed her using sponge to apply the powder. Which tool do you prefer? Would Love if you were able to answer. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 ❤🙏
thank you so much for this amazing video, nikki and susan! i wanna ask something.. do we use our skincare prep the same as our daily skincare? thanks again!
I’ve spent hundreds of dollars trying to find a concealer for under my eye (from this video I’ve purchased all ones that are too thick) I found that my foundation was the one that worked the most. But I only feel it worked well enough. Would a more liquidy concealer accomplish more than the foundation?
How do you avoid eyelid-creasing without using eye-shadow? This is indeed related to concealer, but it doesn't seem like anybody is talking about it. In my experience, whenever I'm not using any eye-shadow, my foundation or concealer creases, even though I am setting the area.
Loved this video, but we will have to agree to disagree about using concealer all over the face...dont get me wrong NOT the entire face but I agree with Wayne Goss that properly used all over the NECESSARY face areas u can truly do without Foundation when u are a person who has done " the work" of proper skincare and addressed texture, hydration, dryness, Choosing the correct CONCEALER formula can omit foundation and look amazing!! That said I loved this video. Much ❤ 4u Melanie, retired Esthetician/ makeup formulation fanatic ❤
I struggle so much with concealer. I am very pale and you can see my blue veins around my eye. To top it off, my cheeks are very rosy while my under eye is very pale. Think, sunburn while wearing sunglasses (but not as extreme) lol ! If I wear something lighter, it makes my under eyes look even lighter while highlighting the redness in my skin. I like wearing concealer on non-foundation days, so my skin is still pink. I wonder what kind of colour I should aim to put under my eyes. Also, this is an anomaly, but I find that if I set my concealer, it looks worse at the end of the day than if I don’t ! I just feel like my eyes look more soft and natural without powder, and cakey/dry with powder.
I wish brands had the same foundation shade as their concealer shades. I don’t know about makeup but the few times I got to wear some, the concealer shade would always be a perfect match or better match than the foundation. Idk how to explain. Y’all probs know what I’m saying…
Are there any foods that you find help your skin? I know everybody has different dietary restrictions and all that, but I think it could be a great New Years video because that is often a time when people take a closer look at what they’re eating. Not everyone is trying to lose weight, but I think a lot of people would be interested in trying out foods that they might not usually reach for because the right food can help one’s overall mood, longevity, and beauty.
