Yep, we're done economically here in the good old US of Aging dinosaurs in Congress who are representing all the special interests but not their constituents...they're just the fools who foot the bill. I afraid that the only way things can change here is a total collapse of the current system. Voting for one or the other party is no different, they are the same. It's best to prepare for the lean times that are coming as my grandparents did in the way back when era of the 1900s. Love your content and will share with all.

That reminds me of a lesson I learned from a local business owner when I was a kid in Germany. I walked by his place and saw that someone had keyed his nice Porsche all over. When I asked him about it he just laughed and said I get it fixed at Porsche and the insurance rates will go up for everyone. He didn’t care since he wrote it off as a business expense and said the person that keyed the car is probably hurting more , because his or her car insurance went up too.
It’s like the free healthcare I received that only cost me 52% deductions of my paycheck every month.
    Nothing is ever free.

As far as voting goes. I feel I see a pattern of Liberals spend, spend, spend and create issues. Then conservatives get in attempt to cut the fat. People get annoyed with the less free stuff and vote the liberals back in. Is there a solution other than to be as self sufficient as possible and prep for a recession?

Smaller houses are a good thing. Irrespective of what is happening with money supply (some of which is outside of the control of a central bank, like the velocity of spending and international exchange rates) a big house is just a money pit. We have this idea that any house is just gonna accrue value (which is a recipe for unaffordable housing) but a 400m^2 home costs more to take care of than a 100m^2 home. The roof still needs to be replaced on occasion, a leak can cause rot, carpets and paint and everything needs upkeep. Then a big home is an invitation to fill it with crap you don't need. I grew up in a home with a "living room" and a "family room" and then the good TV was in my parents bedroom so that's where we all hung out, and two rooms full of expensive furniture didn't really get used. And exercise equipment? The home gym is a ridiculous trend and the equipment just does not get used. Bigger homes mean that kids aren't underfoot, but that also means kids aren't supervised. It's just this ridiculous debt trap we have let ourselves fall into. The more shrinkflation in the housing supply the better. Folks should spend more time out of the house, go for a hike, go boating, go to an art gallery or to see a show.

Inflation isn't always due to amount of currency printed. Look at recent years. Inflation wasn't normal, due to covid...supply chain was disrupted, caused shortage of supplies, therefore, higher prices....when covid was under control and supplies were about to become normal, they were again disrupted because of Ukraine war.....
In general, when economics are good, people make more money, wages rise. when people CAN afford to buy more, suppliers obviously are going to increase their prices for more profit. High price index compared to a year or 2 years ago, or compared to last quarter...is referred to as inflation.

  • @Tsuchimursu

Actually, banks and their loan taking customers also create inflation.
Banks are allowed to lend currency on fractional reserves, which leads to them practically imagining currency into existence when you borrow - and when you pay off your loan you deflate because that imagined currency creases to exist.
(someone gives them a dollar, they are allowed to lend out 90 cents of it to someone else who will deposit in a bank and of that ninety cents they can again lend all but ten percent which they must keep in reserve. This goes on into infinity.)
