f bloods yes, in some respects you are right. When you race a 2 stroke, you should replace the top end every 25-30 hours. A simple top end job is really cheap and easy, even using the best piston and rings. You can also trail ride a 2 stroke if you wanted to, in that case, if you ride it easy, it can last you longer, maybe towards 50 hours because you aren’t revving high RPMs all the time. 4 strokes are better suited for trail riding, but yes, even racing a 4 stroke will blow it up in a matter of 50 hours. You may be able to get more if you do the proper maintenance, such as valve adjustment and checking the cam timing. You can definitely get more hours out of a 4 stroke when trail riding, however, when it comes time to rebuild the top end on a 4 stroke, you’ll be kicking yourself in the face because it is quite a lengthy process, and sometimes requires removing the whole engine from the frame and sub frame. Also parts for 4 strokes are much more expensive due to their complexity. I love both and I know because I own and ride both and have rebuilt both before. I must say, I do ride my 2 stroke more because it suits MY riding style better. It doesn’t mean I’m hating on 4ts, I just prefer 2ts for my riding style.

Im a 4-stroke rider but I believe that 2 strokes are better but to be fair, you literally grabbed all good clips of 2-strokes and just completely crappy videos of 4-strokes. My point is, both dirtbikes have their ups and downs. All dirtbikes wont work at some points, Its unpreventable. But if you're going to make a vid of this, at least have the clips similar.
My four stroke dirt bikes is a Chinese made dirt bike and it's been completely submerged in water handlebars the only thing sticking up while the engine is running air filter sucking in water and it still starts with first kick

I love my old 2 stroke, its cheap and easy to work on. But the torque the 4 stroke has makes it effortless to clear jumps and is more fun if you ask me. But engine failure is much more catastrophic and much more costly.

I have a CR250R and I’ve had it up to 65/mph. Of course just for a little bit. Enough to see how fast it could go. But I can’t imagine doing that out on the street. They have two strokes that are made for the street. But I never rode one of those. Maybe they’re different I would hope so. My street bikes have always been 4 stroke.
Dont ever go with a 2 stroke as your first bike. Stick with the 4 stroke for a while until you get used to riding and then get the 2 stroke because 4 strokes are smoother and easier to ride but 2 strokes will just throw you off the back if your not good at riding
I always preferred riding 2 stroke, even though I believe the 4 strokes put down power to the ground better and the weight actually seemed to help it a bit. Maybe it was the suspension and the way it was tuned, but I really could ride the 4 stroke faster, but I still preferred riding the 2 stroke.
Maintenance? A $115 top end kit (if you don't cheap out) once in a while and mixing gas hardly counts as maintenance. 2-stroke never sucks a valve or loses timing. I own several of both and a high performance 4- stroke is way more maintenance.

I'm unbias. I think both have their strengths and weaknesses. As you mentioned, 4 stroke has a smoother power delivery and has a more controllable acceleration. 2 strokes are like a shot of adrenaline and win in that feeling of untamed energy. I think the choice of the bike would be situational

I love my old 2 stroke, its cheap and easy to work on. But the torque the 4 stroke has makes it effortless to clear jumps and is more fun if you ask me. But engine failure is much more catastrophic and much more costly.

I have a CR250R and I’ve had it up to 65/mph. Of course just for a little bit. Enough to see how fast it could go. But I can’t imagine doing that out on the street. They have two strokes that are made for the street. But I never rode one of those. Maybe they’re different I would hope so. My street bikes have always been 4 stroke.

Dont ever go with a 2 stroke as your first bike. Stick with the 4 stroke for a while until you get used to riding and then get the 2 stroke because 4 strokes are smoother and easier to ride but 2 strokes will just throw you off the back if your not good at riding
I always preferred riding 2 stroke, even though I believe the 4 strokes put down power to the ground better and the weight actually seemed to help it a bit. Maybe it was the suspension and the way it was tuned, but I really could ride the 4 stroke faster, but I still preferred riding the 2 stroke.

Maintenance? A $115 top end kit (if you don't cheap out) once in a while and mixing gas hardly counts as maintenance. 2-stroke never sucks a valve or loses timing. I own several of both and a high performance 4- stroke is way more maintenance.
