Don’t think so, saw an interview after a recent game, where Caitlin played really well but was being down on herself, her teammates spoke up and stopped her and had her back with some dumb questions from the journalists.
I get the impression that her teammates were skeptical and jealous at first, but have been getting won over slowly and steadily. Clark's insistence on never throwing anybody else publicly under a bus, constantly trying to throw dimes that make her teammates look good, all that helped. Boston in particular seems to have come around in a way she hadn't at the beginning of the season. Of course, another great move would be "Look, we build some great teamwork here, next time the ad men start knocking, I'll ask my agent to include you too, and we'll all be doing better." CC earlier on has the ball a lot, running point guard making about 120 assists in 19-games to date which offsets half of 106 TO’s for NET 67 assists positive. CC is actually being super productive (scoring, assisting, forcing attention from 2-3 defenders to free up others for cuts/ open shots ) making her team better (when they run her kind of popular & winning showtime IOWA brand run & gun game instead of others playing solo hero ball while icing CC out & making her into regular WNBA player stand in corner like Wallace does all the time). She has enough hate to know that’s not how you build trust and make friends… she wants to play as a team, but no one is stepping up to play to each others strengths and Sides is complicit in Indiana’s struggle for cohesiveness. Agree that Sides is in WAY over her head and doesn't seem to improve her decision-making and refuses implement changes in strategy and players on the floor. But, equally important is that CC has very little help on the floor. Some of her team mates are just not up to the task. She is making some great shots, but NO ONE consistently screens so that she can step back and make her long shots. I saw very few Fever players coming to stand still between CC and the Storm defenders, who were relentless. This kind of defending against CC will be the norm, so something has to change now! In the fourth quarter, CC realizes it's almost impossible to push off and step back to shoot, so she passes. When she passes half of the time her teammates don't score. They need to actually practice layups and screening every single day! Teach them how to correctly do these things and require them to repeat them over and over. Otherwise, the Fever are repeatedly going to disappoint as a team and CC is going to deflate. That would be sad for all concerned.

My daughter used to play on a college team much like the Fever. Their coach was non-responsive to making changes as needed, and she rarely calls time outs to talk to her team. These women as a team need extra reinforcement as to what their roles are. They must catch the ball when passed too. They must believe that TEAM play is the only way to prevail (WIN!). I'm sick to death of many of these players believing that their greatness can be displayed when they go hard to the basket. Even if they have THREE defensive players in front of them. Their team play judgment is almost ZERO. Their overall effort is near ZERO. They play like entitled brats (but this is true for most of the WNBA). Stop hacking ladies, defense is about body position, every time you reach, you give a gift to the other team. And then, the clock runs out and you must face the after-game press about your choices.

Exaggerating a bit here, but what was Boston's shot percentage, 1%? She was terrible, yet Sides kept drawing up plays to get her the ball. I swear she only made 3 shots out of 38 attempts. CC earlier on has the ball a lot, running point guard making about 120 assists in 19-games to date which offsets half of 106 TO’s for NET 67 assists positive. CC is actually being super productive (scoring, assisting, forcing attention from 2-3 defenders to free up others for cuts/ open shots ) making her team better (when they run her kind of popular & winning showtime IOWA brand run & gun game instead of others playing solo hero ball while icing CC out & making her into regular WNBA player stand in corner like Wallace does all the time). The whole team sucks at defense not just CC, but she brings other skills including eyeballs & revenue that others do not. Coach sucks for all these reasons above… not playing up CC’a strengths but forcing her to adapt to inept Fever traditional brand

If you haven’t noticed, CC isn’t trying to control or carry the team. She has enough hate to know that’s not how you build trust and make friends… she wants to play as a team, but no one is stepping up to play to each others strengths and Sides is complicit in Indiana’s struggle for cohesiveness. She doesn’t know how to coach or plan strategy utilizing each players strength yet constantly blames everyone else for her incompentencies.

I love watching CC. But, so many of these players think that showing up in the WNBA is their objective, not attached to any objective results. Lack of commitment to defense and rebounding is obvious. When a 6' 150lb player often leads in rebounds... it tells you what you need to know.
I hope she will be fired. Her lack of coaching ability is hurting the team. She plays players that disrupt the offense and can't even play defense. She has no ability to adapt game plans on the fly to adjust to what the other team is doing.
Her teammates hold her back. I've seen her attempt awesome passes, and her teammates fumble it. She'll hit them right in the hands, and they still drop it.

Matter of fact, but the Celtics and the Mavericks had the highest AMOUNT of turnovers in the NBA. But both teams were in the Finals because they are also the 2 highest possessions per game teams.
More possessions=more potential turnovers. But that doesn't equate to turnover RATE. Before you start quoting stats, make sure you actually understand them.
Agree that Sides is in WAY over her head and doesn't seem to improve her decision-making and refuses implement changes in strategy and players on the floor. But, equally important is that CC has very little help on the floor. Some of her team mates are just not up to the task. She is making some great shots, but NO ONE consistently screens so that she can step back and make her long shots. I saw very few Fever players coming to stand still between CC and the Storm defenders, who were relentless. This kind of defending against CC will be the norm, so something has to change now! In the fourth quarter, CC realizes it's almost impossible to push off and step back to shoot, so she passes. When she passes half of the time her teammates don't score. They need to actually practice layups and screening every single day! Teach them how to correctly do these things and require them to repeat them over and over. Otherwise, the Fever are repeatedly going to disappoint as a team and CC is going to deflate. That would be sad for all concerned.

SOLID SCREENS need to be made. Players must learn to catch PASSES. It is not just that Clark is attributed with turnovers when team mates drop passes that hit them square in their hands.

She must work on half court dribbling drills against heads up one on one defensive pressure.
Anyway, CC is the real deal. Sides needs to coach high school JV and not Division one Ball with elite talent as CC. Team mates need to get off their ass and defend CC, catch passes, and make shots and layups. And stop dribbling the ball until there is only 3 seconds on the shot clock to pass the ball, shoot an air ball, or have the ball stolen!!!

Three things that will change the trajectory of the Fever immediately. 1) bring back Celeste Taylor She has not been claimed by anyone yet. Young promising and great defensive player. Team has looked very lack luster since her being cut. 2) fire Sides and go with a strong personality that will put everyone in a position to win. Maybe a retired college coach Geno, Coach K, or what’s her name from Iowa, for the rest of this year and find a strong male protege next. Buy hiring one of those three college greats it would show that the team and the league are serious about being in the conversation. 3) take the trash out, either by the bag or a piece at a time until the attitude is straight. If a team mate gets assaulted other players better be ready to throw hands in defense of that teammate.

My daughter used to play on a college team much like the Fever. Their coach was non-responsive to making changes as needed, and she rarely calls time outs to talk to her team. These women as a team need extra reinforcement as to what their roles are. They must catch the ball when passed too. They must believe that TEAM play is the only way to prevail (WIN!). I'm sick to death of many of these players believing that their greatness can be displayed when they go hard to the basket. Even if they have THREE defensive players in front of them. Their team play judgment is almost ZERO. Their overall effort is near ZERO. They play like entitled brats (but this is true for most of the WNBA). Stop hacking ladies, defense is about body position, every time you reach, you give a gift to the other team. And then, the clock runs out and you must face the after-game press about your choices.

Then to put it back together, the confidence and trust must be rebuilt from a very basic level. CC yearns for her caste of players to trust her and she knows that this takes time. But when the individuals are confused as to who they are (roles etc) and where they fit in, the problem is beyond CC. CC will rise above this no matter where she plays. But to win as a team - that's the rub.
The WNBA is a sisterhood of 143 basketball players plus coaches. Caitlin Clark is not part of the sisterhood. Clark was not drafted to win games. Disagree with your gramps on Caitlin's college time. Watch the 2023 Semi-final Iowa vs. South Carolina. Or the 2024 NCAA semi-final, Iowa vs. UConn. Caitlin elevates her teammates, and a bunch of 3-star recruits wind up defeating a team full of taller, more athletic 5-star recruits. Yes, Clark could have used a couple more talented teammates and Iowa would have two national championships. But making two finals with the teammates she had was amazing coaching by Lisa Bluder and Caitlin elevating her teammates.
Caitlin is so far beyond the ability of that team. She's next level and they're still trying to catch up with last week.

When i hear Sides say CC needs to be more aggressive i laughed. last night CC did it ALL, and did amazing passes, but the team was NOT SCORING, they missed so many passes that i guess CC got demotivated, she still made stunning shots. Those are some really nice passes being fumbled around. Im not a huge WNBA fan at all but these teammates need to learn to catch the pass. Obviously her Hawkeye teammates could. I did catch the last game against the Sky and the team was also horribly coached. Clark was iced by Sides. I'm from Indiana and i am a Pacers fan. I've watched a few Fever games to see what all the hype was about. Sides, Wheeler, and at least Wallace needs to go. Thats just my take from what little I have watched.

All things aside, Aliyah Boston, was absolutely garbage and useless last night. Christie Sides sat CC a few times when she was the only one making plays and putting up points but kept Boston in majority of the game. Exaggerating a bit here, but what was Boston's shot percentage, 1%? She was terrible, yet Sides kept drawing up plays to get her the ball. I swear she only made 3 shots out of 38 attempts. (More exaggeration)

I agree 100%!!!! Sides really made a big mistake trading a really excellent defensive player! So I'd sit down and talk with her. And if she doesn't get the team working right,,then she needs to be fired
