We see Guts defy the laws of causality but he struggles in this battle against fate. Given the endless possibilities to how this magnificent story will end it can literally be anything, since the moonlight boy has ties to it all I can only imagine it’ll end with him being totally relevant, either way there has to be another side to this evil god hand, like is there a heaven in this world of Berserk?

because Griffith’s goal wasn’t to live as a powerful being, and instead was to have his own kingdom, I could definitely see his defeat be more social. Like he gets cancelled or something
i feel like miura is making the most used clichée a reality by showing us that *the real strugglers were us, the readers, all along, waiting for the next chapter* edit: well it seems in the end i was too self-centred. it was miura, himself, who was the true struggler in this timeline. thank you for creating not only your, but also the whole of manga's, magnum opus. this piece of fiction touched so many souls that it almost seems like the *hand of a god* sincerely all your fellow strugglers
Yeah, most people strongly disliked the boat section of the story. I think it's mainly because it took so long to be finished(Almost a decade) ,but for me. As a person who finished the manga yesterday. It wasn't really a problem. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. With the Sea God and all that.

I feel like the biggest mistake people make is to assume Berserk is a revenge story. It’s not a revenge story, but it’s also not a critique of revenge stories, it’s a love story. There’s a reason why Miura once said that Berserk was more of a Shojo than a Seinen

@speedpaints I don't think Miura was joking about that. It's simply the way how he sees the genre of Shojo. Taken out of the definition of being for young girls, a lot of Shojo manga/anime are more emotion driven with the power of friendship/love prevailing. That is how Miura sees berserk, just because it isn't literally for young girls doesn't mean it isn't a shojo. My theory has always been Griffith will be “de powered” in some way and left to rot as Guts walks away from him, similar to how he left the band of the hawk the first time. Griffith just being “A stone in his path”
I imagine maybe something akin to Pride in FMA Brotherhood, where his ego gets shattered and is reduced to nothing more than an infant. Maybe he gets asimilated by Guts and Cadca's childs personality or something and lives on as a normal human kid, like an inverted scenario of Griffith's "well this might not have been so bad" vision before he sacrifices where he was living a normal life married with Casca, and Guts as their son. I can't think of any worse fate for him like that.
That would be extremely cliché though. Muira doesn't tend to back peddle in that way either. There are still three wild cards that could make the ending wildly diverge: Rickert, The Beast in Darkness and Moonlight Boy. The story is a bit beyond the Golden Age now.
I have no idea how it'll end, but I've always had a feeling that Griffith would go after Guts and Casca when she regains her memory, especially if she chooses a peaceful life with Guts. Griffiths ego would be too strong, he'd HAVE to go and get rid of them, as he wouldn't be able to live with the knowledge that they care so little about him.

99% the moon child will play the major role in Griffith's death. Griffith's realization that his dream is empty , a selfish one, hat he sacrificed everything for nothing meaningful, that he's alone on that throne ,would be the greatest revenge. i always imagine a scene where Griffith tells guts to kill him and guts says he's not worth it and walks away
IMO Griffith played himself. Femto is trying to pretend he's human again in order to live out Griffiths desire of ruling a kingdom (ironic as he likely no longer feels attachment to the human emotions since his rise to Godhandom). Femto pursues Griffiths dream by endearing apostles to the humans and creating a utopia for the humans. However, by the apostles very nature, they cannot see humans as anything more than cattle; lesser forms and sacrifices for the birth of a new apostle. The eventuality of the human subjugation by the apostles will give the Godhand what they've always wanted: a kingdom of their own above man. They used Griffith's wish for a kingdom to rule in order groom him into a leader of man for their own end. The kingdom Grifith is building isn't his own, but a product of causal manipulation. His dream lead the egg of the king to him so it could pervert it. He's not just a monster, Griffith is a chump. I think we'll see a moment where the dark penumbra of the gleaming Falconia is revealed. Not one eclipse event but countless smaller ascension events. And Femto will not care, not because I doesn’t want to, but because no longer can care about anything human.
Mem Fadey2k no, but the dream of ruling a kingdom of man made him the choice for the egg of the king. Godhands are perversions of the people they once were. Griffith was simply a mold to cast Femto from. They are the same person but Femto no longer has any worldly emotions or attachments, which means he basically finds no joy in seeing his dream realized and no loss at it’s perversion. He is simply a tool now.
I haven't been able to succinctly word my feelings on Griffith before this, thanks. The real meat of the difference between Griffith and Guts isn't that one is one of the most vile villains ever and the other is ostensibly a hero, nor that one is a demon-god and the other is (probably) entirely a human being. It's that one is an absolute chump to the waves of causality, and the other furiously swims against it. "The struggler" archetype reminds me of "the prisoner" in TES. It's something deeply ingrained in our instincts that makes us empathize.
I do wish to see the end of berserk if casca gets her sanity back, reunites with guys, both have a son, and they took down femto and turned him back to Griffith and kill all 4 under world gods and destroy the gods hand apostle world.

Not true. Griffith i'd say had no choice, otherwise going straight fo his dream. The hole situation is a consequence of griffith's life story. Everything he managed to get through his life was in chase for his kingdom. This dream was his life and he could not think of anything else. Also he was given an opportunity to obtain everything he wanted at the moment of absolute weakness and misery. Sure, its bad few of his friends died, just as dozens of them before. Band of Hawk's goal was to build Griffith's kingdom, so they done it.
Guts the chad? Sure if that's how you wanna see him even though he got spurned by casca after everything he went through. Griffith the virgin? He got his own kingdom and sleeps with the princess all the time, but sure just throw all logic right out the window.
A little bit of trivia and fan theory around Casca's name choice: The Mouros were dark skin people who lived all over Europe, in Portugal they lived in the mountains, in villages like the one Casca used to live, that could explain her not Anglo-Saxon name. Casca in Portuguese translates to shell, so her name could be either a reference to someone that tries to put an external tough image, or shell, to shield itself from the hardships of the world or even a foreshadowing for her "empty shell" state.
I know Berserk will go down as a time-defying masterpiece, Miura being a modern Shakespeare, but it feels like those reading it a hundred years from now will have a lacking experience for not having the absolutely soul-crushing, morale-annihilating struggle of waiting to see whether the next chapter will be greater than or as great as the chapters before. The readers of the future won't have to live with the terrifying apprehension of Miura passing before he finishes his great work. They will have the entire work before them. We would gladly give our flesh if it meant for Miura to STOP PLAYING IDOLMASTER FOR TEN GODDAMN MINUTES.

@holllllke123 I really like Berserk, but I agree with you. Comparing it to the likes of literary masterpieces over the course of modern human history is definitely too much. However, I do believe Miura will leave his lasting mark on the manga industry for the next generations to come, he arguably already has. I would personally attribute that more to his style and aesthetics, though. The type of visual storytelling he employs is strong, but there are Mangaka out there that manage to do more with their medium (Inoue with Vagabond, Asano with Goodnight Punpun etc.)
I personally think a cool ending would be if the moon kid or whatever their name is, or Casca's demon baby is Femto's downfall. Like, Femto unintentionally being his own downfall as like "the other god hand deem him no good because he did something for his own personal gain" would be poetic as hell.
This is much closer to what I've been speculating I'm convinced that somehow Griffith will be from his body maybe Count's behelit belongs to the Moonlight Child and he sacrifices Griffith maybe Guts uses it instead and meets the idea of evil and if Griffith is exorcized I'd prefer Casca be the one to kill him as she's suffered most because of him

The whole point of guts story is to not be the slave a fate. If guts is the true idea of the ubermensch then he will find way to the idea of evil and find a way cut it like the Gordian knot. I think he will see that he is the foundation of his peoples future and this will win favor of something unforeseen. For the opposite to the idea of evil is the reality of good.
Except in the end Guts will go to hell anyway along with Casca because they are both forever branded. A miracle isn't just going to happen that all apostles and evil in the world of Berserk will be cleansed especially not if it's just about "killing Griffith/Femto". With all that being said, Rickert is so damn lucky.

I’d like the idea that after Griffith is defeated he returns to his crippled self before the eclipse. Doomed to live out his punishment in that state for the rest of his life. Remember, Apostles/Spawns revert back to their true selves after they die. Who knows, maybe after the Godhand and Griffith are defeated they will return to their true pitiful selves, maybe they don’t have to die to change back.
I could see Griffith "winning" and having formed the second great empire. However everyone around him finds out about what he did and despises him. Griffith deep down longing for Gut's friendship is denied and deeply regrets killing the band of the Hawk and betraying Guys and Casca. Gut's lives a happy life with Casca and friends while Griffith sits on a lonely hollow throne by himself regretting his choices.
This would be crazy interesting but the only thing that makes it impossible is that Griffith can't feel at all anymore. At least Femto cannot feel and has no humanity.

Yeah I have this thought too. And the fact that he might be more composed rather than full of rage. Griffith was shaken by how resolved and calm guts was during the snowy fight, and I think the point of the berserker armor is to show guts first losing himself in rage but slowly over time finally being able to instead change it to resolve a d determination. Rather than feel the hurt and suffering every time he sees Griffith, he instead sees an existence that is not worth living for.
To be honest... i want to see one thing in ending of Berserk: Griffith reverting back to his crippled, pre-Eclipse state... ...and maybe then losing his head.
i had an end where Daiba devises a master spell to stop godhand and its dark master at the expense of whole magic. when the ritual takes effect, apostles become feeble elders, Puck become a breeze and Femto is reversed to his mutilated Griffith self. The rest is trapped in astral world as the Interstice once again disapears.

Sad thing is no matter what, berserk will never have an end that is universally loved, we’ve had decades of hype and each hiatus makes us want more and more hoping we reach the castle in the sky that contains the berserk ending, honestly it’s like a horror film like how the monster is always scarier when you can’t see it and you use your imagination to fill in the gap of what is scariest to you, personally I’m just hoping for an ending where Gutts and Casca get a happy ending together, and Griffith gets dragged into hell cause he tries going beyond the god hand and (if it’s made canon again) tries to take over the Idea of Evil, Griffith always strived to be above everyone else, he wasn’t just a mercenary he was a mercenary leader, he couldn’t be a soldier he had to be a noble, then a general, then a king, and then a Demi god, so really all that’s left is god
@@maadtee6281 Based on the previous 40+ volumes, Berserk has not had a single "happy ending" for anyone. The best people can typically expect is survival. The world they live in is just as harsh and cruel as when the series started. I also doubt Guts will survive to the end of the series. Casca or the Moonlight Boy are more likely and The Godhand are still untouchable. Plus there is still the alteration of reality caused by the Fantasia event. That plotline is more likely to be the focus of the resolution.
Remember that vision Griffith had where he was crippled and Casca was taking care of him? What if that's how Guts' story ends (maybe a little less crippled) but the difference being that he is truly happy. Also bonus points if he becomes a farmer EDIT: If Miura's ending never gets revealed in any form, then this is my official head-canon ending RIP Kentaro Miura
I've always wanted that scene within the ending. IMHO i'll be a great call back to the eclipse and further contrast guts and griffith. That the simple life that griffith hated is more than enough for guts and caska.

The image of guts holding Griffith’s head and just looking miserable is just sad, it’s the moment of realization that what’s done is simply, done and guys realizing nothing will bring back what is lost.
Still think Griffith and Guts will meet again if not soon. Because the mages of the island is a big threat to his power, they know who he really his and they probably don't want to join Falconia.
The kinship between Skull Knight and Guts is kind of nice. Them being a reflection of one and other. A similar moral that Kratos and the boy follow. Where one is trying to teach the other not to make the same mistakes as they live in regret of their past and live with the consequences of their actions. Even Zodd mentions it to ol' skully when he dons the Berserker Armour mentioning he'd have him walk the same demented, twisted path as him.
The way I see it ending is that Guts will have a duel with Griffith but guts' efforts prove in vain until guts actually manages to mortally wound griffith. Feeling excruciating pain for the first time in so long, Griffith loses his barring and goes all out to completley decimate guts leaving him as nothing more than a streak of blood and organs smeared on the ground. With Griffiths kingdom witnessing not only Griffiths true nature but also guts doing the unthinkable; he made god bleed. The God Hand then restrains griffith after losing his composure. But from that one injury Griffith lost everything. He lost his reputation as a savior for his own kingdom, embarrassed himself in front of the Godhand, and humanity now having hope that he and the Godhand CAN be defeated. So the last chapter fast forward to a grown up rickert now a powerful warrior leading of his own army with skullknight and a reincarnated guts becoming what skull knight is but in the berserker armor. The last panel ends with them beginning their last charge against the God Hand. Think of it like this. Image a flea dedicating its life to kill a fully grown human being. That's basically the comparison of power between Guts and Griffith. How would this person feel if a flea actually mortally wounds him. The pain alone would make anyone lose their composure and flip out. How do you think other will look at this person flipping out over an injury he recieved from A FLEA! It would be pretty damn embarrassing and all your credibility goes down the drain. that's why I think that's a good way to present Guts' victory over Griffith. The whole manga made it clear what guts is up against and if it ended in a generic duel as equals it would have came out as anticlimactic. It make one wonder, why couldn't guts have done that sooner. So the key to defeating a being that's strength is greater than this plain of existence is to swing your sword at it really hard?
I think your comparison with flea is wrong . Because godhands were humans at one time , they now see themselves as superior but they all were humans and it was their human experiences who made them god hands .
Yeah, reading berserk knowing english and portuguese was like "??" who would name the characters like "shell" and "coragem" ops "casca" and "guts". In portuguese version of mangá her name was changed to "CasKa" I guess to make it feel less strange. "although i kinda like her name as Casca
I always thought it would end with Guts giving up on revenge. Where he has the ability to take revenge but he doesn't and it actually allows for a break from the cycle.
That would be so cheesy and cringe. I fully agree that Guts should not allow his hatred and revenge to destroy him as a person, he should learn to control his emotions. But if the ending is some cheesy "i no longer hate griffith or feel the need for any revenge" that would be terrible, stale and cliche. We saw the same crap in Vinland Saga and thats when the series became boring
My favorite griffith theory is that to bring the godhand to rule over our existence, they will demand a MUCH larger sacrifice, i.e. Griffith's kingdom. Doing so would betray his dream, causing him to do the ole switcheroo on the godhand. Idk if that even makes much sense, but I like the thought of it.

Yeah, given Guts' progress, it doesn't really seem likely that he'll end Griffith; at least, not alone anyway. I feel like Griffith represents soulless and selfish ambition and how empty that can become. Guts path seemed just to be alive and not die, now it isn't. It's more than that now. It reflect real life of purposelessness to finally having purpose and progressing as a mature human being. He seemed like he'd end up putting his inner beast to rest and leaving Griffith and being with Casca and the gang. This is like every heroes story. The character lives, loses, grows, accepts, progresses, and eventually matures not to be simple minded anymore but instead a whole human being who may even master their shadows. Its so palatable because it relates to the human condition so well. Forgiveness is good for the living but is hard to achieve. Genuine love also is good but hard to maintain and crushes the soul when it's taken. Only those who persevere will taste the best life has to offer; or, the messages.
I feel like guts will eventually be the white hawk that will change the God Hand into something that promotes good instead of evil, and gives meaning to peoples' lives through promoting change and progression instead of death at the hands of monsters
There is a point of possible conflict still left for Griffith vs Guts/Casca. His son is intertwined with Griffith's physical manifestation in reality. The fact that Moonlight boy has multiple times now done the same as Casca, pulled Guts away from his rage/berserker armor, added to the way he acts around Casca/Guts and his actual appearance leaves it pretty clear that he is their son, linked with Griffith during the events of the fake eclipse that made it so that Femto/Griffith could incarnate. He seems to be tied to the Astral World tho, while Griffith seems to be able to live his messiah-complex to it's fullest in the human realm. How that conflict will shape itself is really unpredictable tho, but considering that Griffith even feels emotions related to the child's when he sees Casca/Guts again after the fake eclipse, he's 100% the key to Griffith getting his comeuppance. In 358 Griffith ends the chapter looking at the full moon/spirit tree roots, which according to Schierke is when astral beings can roam freely, then he sees that his hair is starting to darken and disappears. His existence is 100% tied up to the moonlight boy's, which means that Guts can "end his journey" by slaying the kid and getting revenge. The issue comes in the form of the Moonlight boy most likely still being powerful as fuck and on the emotional side to the fact that he is his and Casca's son. Imo Guts will have to face the idea of taking revenge while killing his kid and sacrificing his future with Casca or forfeiting his goal for Casca/the kid, which is what I think he will choose. However, at the end of the day the world is still a Griffith-ran dystopia, so it might be for the better if the kid dies. It's also possible SK tries to kill the kid once he makes the connection.
Even as Casca was in her "simple" form, she was drawn to Griffith due to her sensing her child. Once the moonlight boy visits restored Casca (inevitable) she will become obsessed with getting her child back or die trying. And well...this is Berserk. They've been foreshadowing this the whole time. Guts isn't driven by revenge anymore. As it is right now, he wouldn't sacrifice his son in order to get at Griffith. He's just not motivated enough to do so. BUT, Guts has the beast inside WAITING to take over right? What's the ONLY thing that could make him go berserk, and sacrifice his new family? Loosing Casca. I think Casca is murdered by Griffith, while trying to get her son back, Guts literally looses his mind and becomes consumed with revenge, the behelit activates, and in his grief, gives into the beast finally, and he sacrifices everyone in order to gain the power of a godhand to finally kill Griffith. I see only little Schierke surving. Along with the moonlight boy, who with Schierke's help, Guts even his new demonic form, manages to save once he kills Griffith. Guts has to sacrifice/give up his body in order for the boy to have a physical vessel and thats how Guts dies. Schierke, with the brand still on her, becomes the new struggler.
honestly though imagine the shitstorm we would get if Moonlight boy where to revert to Griffith at a place like Elfhelm, i seriously doubt Falconia wouldn't immediately turn to confront them at full force

I swear to god if Berserk ends with Gutts "being the bigger person" and giving up on his quest for revenge, I will be furious. I'm tired of this modern trope. The vapid "the real x is the x we found in our journey" is getting old. Let there be an actual resolution for once. I don't care if there's a sad ending, you can't just make Griffith an all powerful corrupt dictator and just dismiss that in the end. That force has to be confronted. I've waited for too long in my life following this story for it to end in such a hokey way.
It's not that all those things won't be addressed or confronted, but rather that I and many others just doubt Guts will deliver a killing blow to Griffith. Short of the brand and armor he's closest he's ever been to normalcy. Likely there'll be a call to action soon that'll foreshadow what the final conflict will be.
I mean regardless Grifith has to go down, I don't think it'll be just guts getting the blow in and we call it a day, I do think it'll have to be a team effort, one thing is for sure, the battle will be legendary

I think that if anyone will kill the godhand (if it's even possible) it would have to be the Skull knight. It's been established by Ganishka that no apostle could ever do it, and unlike Guts, he can't overcome his rage because it's the entire reason he exists and he has no reason or way to live happily. I think that's the best ending for both him and Guts.
Guts is a definition of a person defeating a god , not physically but morally . After reading the last chapter , I wholeheartedly believe he would forgive Griffith but would cut his tied with him whatsoever . Not only it would make Griffith seem more pathetic but would highlight the spirit of Guts .

We see Guts defy the laws of causality but he struggles in this battle against fate. Given the endless possibilities to how this magnificent story will end it can literally be anything, since the moonlight boy has ties to it all I can only imagine it’ll end with him being totally relevant, either way there has to be another side to this evil god hand, like is there a heaven in this world of Berserk?

Taken out of the definition of being for young girls, a lot of Shojo manga/anime are more emotion driven with the power of friendship/love prevailing. That is how Miura sees berserk, just because it isn't literally for young girls doesn't mean it isn't a shojo.

I can't think of any worse fate for him like that.

99% the moon child will play the major role in Griffith's death. Griffith's realization that his dream is empty , a selfish one, hat he sacrificed everything for nothing meaningful, that he's alone on that throne ,would be the greatest revenge. i always imagine a scene where Griffith tells guts to kill him and guts says he's not worth it and walks away
IMO Griffith played himself.
Femto is trying to pretend he's human again in order to live out Griffiths desire of ruling a kingdom (ironic as he likely no longer feels attachment to the human emotions since his rise to Godhandom). Femto pursues Griffiths dream by endearing apostles to the humans and creating a utopia for the humans. However, by the apostles very nature, they cannot see humans as anything more than cattle; lesser forms and sacrifices for the birth of a new apostle. The eventuality of the human subjugation by the apostles will give the Godhand what they've always wanted: a kingdom of their own above man.
They used Griffith's wish for a kingdom to rule in order groom him into a leader of man for their own end. The kingdom Grifith is building isn't his own, but a product of causal manipulation. His dream lead the egg of the king to him so it could pervert it. He's not just a monster, Griffith is a chump.
I think we'll see a moment where the dark penumbra of the gleaming Falconia is revealed. Not one eclipse event but countless smaller ascension events. And Femto will not care, not because I doesn’t want to, but because no longer can care about anything human.

I haven't been able to succinctly word my feelings on Griffith before this, thanks. The real meat of the difference between Griffith and Guts isn't that one is one of the most vile villains ever and the other is ostensibly a hero, nor that one is a demon-god and the other is (probably) entirely a human being. It's that one is an absolute chump to the waves of causality, and the other furiously swims against it. "The struggler" archetype reminds me of "the prisoner" in TES. It's something deeply ingrained in our instincts that makes us empathize.

The Mouros were dark skin people who lived all over Europe, in Portugal they lived in the mountains, in villages like the one Casca used to live, that could explain her not Anglo-Saxon name.
Casca in Portuguese translates to shell, so her name could be either a reference to someone that tries to put an external tough image, or shell, to shield itself from the hardships of the world or even a foreshadowing for her "empty shell" state.

@holllllke123 I really like Berserk, but I agree with you. Comparing it to the likes of literary masterpieces over the course of modern human history is definitely too much. However, I do believe Miura will leave his lasting mark on the manga industry for the next generations to come, he arguably already has. I would personally attribute that more to his style and aesthetics, though. The type of visual storytelling he employs is strong, but there are Mangaka out there that manage to do more with their medium (Inoue with Vagabond, Asano with Goodnight Punpun etc.)
I personally think a cool ending would be if the moon kid or whatever their name is, or Casca's demon baby is Femto's downfall. Like, Femto unintentionally being his own downfall as like "the other god hand deem him no good because he did something for his own personal gain" would be poetic as hell.

Griffith deep down longing for Gut's friendship is denied and deeply regrets killing the band of the Hawk and betraying Guys and Casca. Gut's lives a happy life with Casca and friends while Griffith sits on a lonely hollow throne by himself regretting his choices.

Yeah I have this thought too. And the fact that he might be more composed rather than full of rage. Griffith was shaken by how resolved and calm guts was during the snowy fight, and I think the point of the berserker armor is to show guts first losing himself in rage but slowly over time finally being able to instead change it to resolve a d determination. Rather than feel the hurt and suffering every time he sees Griffith, he instead sees an existence that is not worth living for.

To be honest... i want to see one thing in ending of Berserk: Griffith reverting back to his crippled, pre-Eclipse state...

i had an end where Daiba devises a master spell to stop godhand and its dark master at the expense of whole magic. when the ritual takes effect, apostles become feeble elders, Puck become a breeze and Femto is reversed to his mutilated Griffith self. The rest is trapped in astral world as the Interstice once again disapears.
He sacrifices the godhand and becomes the villain of Duranki

Sad thing is no matter what, berserk will never have an end that is universally loved, we’ve had decades of hype and each hiatus makes us want more and more hoping we reach the castle in the sky that contains the berserk ending, honestly it’s like a horror film like how the monster is always scarier when you can’t see it and you use your imagination to fill in the gap of what is scariest to you, personally I’m just hoping for an ending where Gutts and Casca get a happy ending together, and Griffith gets dragged into hell cause he tries going beyond the god hand and (if it’s made canon again) tries to take over the Idea of Evil, Griffith always strived to be above everyone else, he wasn’t just a mercenary he was a mercenary leader, he couldn’t be a soldier he had to be a noble, then a general, then a king, and then a Demi god, so really all that’s left is god

One way or another, it isn't going to be a "happy ending" for anyone. Because that goes against the entire narrative of the series.

@@maadtee6281 Based on the previous 40+ volumes, Berserk has not had a single "happy ending" for anyone. The best people can typically expect is survival. The world they live in is just as harsh and cruel as when the series started.
I also doubt Guts will survive to the end of the series. Casca or the Moonlight Boy are more likely and The Godhand are still untouchable. Plus there is still the alteration of reality caused by the Fantasia event. That plotline is more likely to be the focus of the resolution.

Remember that vision Griffith had where he was crippled and Casca was taking care of him? What if that's how Guts' story ends (maybe a little less crippled) but the difference being that he is truly happy.
Also bonus points if he becomes a farmer

The image of guts holding Griffith’s head and just looking miserable is just sad, it’s the moment of realization that what’s done is simply, done and guys realizing nothing will bring back what is lost.
Still think Griffith and Guts will meet again if not soon. Because the mages of the island is a big threat to his power, they know who he really his and they probably don't want to join Falconia.

The kinship between Skull Knight and Guts is kind of nice. Them being a reflection of one and other. A similar moral that Kratos and the boy follow. Where one is trying to teach the other not to make the same mistakes as they live in regret of their past and live with the consequences of their actions. Even Zodd mentions it to ol' skully when he dons the Berserker Armour mentioning he'd have him walk the same demented, twisted path as him.
Berserk will have a happy ending just like those massage parlors with the chicks who look like Griffith
The way I see it ending is that Guts will have a duel with Griffith but guts' efforts prove in vain until guts actually manages to mortally wound griffith. Feeling excruciating pain for the first time in so long, Griffith loses his barring and goes all out to completley decimate guts leaving him as nothing more than a streak of blood and organs smeared on the ground. With Griffiths kingdom witnessing not only Griffiths true nature but also guts doing the unthinkable; he made god bleed. The God Hand then restrains griffith after losing his composure. But from that one injury Griffith lost everything. He lost his reputation as a savior for his own kingdom, embarrassed himself in front of the Godhand, and humanity now having hope that he and the Godhand CAN be defeated. So the last chapter fast forward to a grown up rickert now a powerful warrior leading of his own army with skullknight and a reincarnated guts becoming what skull knight is but in the berserker armor. The last panel ends with them beginning their last charge against the God Hand.
Think of it like this. Image a flea dedicating its life to kill a fully grown human being. That's basically the comparison of power between Guts and Griffith. How would this person feel if a flea actually mortally wounds him. The pain alone would make anyone lose their composure and flip out. How do you think other will look at this person flipping out over an injury he recieved from A FLEA! It would be pretty damn embarrassing and all your credibility goes down the drain. that's why I think that's a good way to present Guts' victory over Griffith. The whole manga made it clear what guts is up against and if it ended in a generic duel as equals it would have came out as anticlimactic. It make one wonder, why couldn't guts have done that sooner. So the key to defeating a being that's strength is greater than this plain of existence is to swing your sword at it really hard?
I think your comparison with flea is wrong . Because godhands were humans at one time , they now see themselves as superior but they all were humans and it was their human experiences who made them god hands .

I always thought it would end with Guts giving up on revenge. Where he has the ability to take revenge but he doesn't and it actually allows for a break from the cycle.
That would be so cheesy and cringe. I fully agree that Guts should not allow his hatred and revenge to destroy him as a person, he should learn to control his emotions. But if the ending is some cheesy "i no longer hate griffith or feel the need for any revenge" that would be terrible, stale and cliche. We saw the same crap in Vinland Saga and thats when the series became boring

My favorite griffith theory is that to bring the godhand to rule over our existence, they will demand a MUCH larger sacrifice, i.e. Griffith's kingdom. Doing so would betray his dream, causing him to do the ole switcheroo on the godhand. Idk if that even makes much sense, but I like the thought of it.

Yeah, given Guts' progress, it doesn't really seem likely that he'll end Griffith; at least, not alone anyway.
I feel like Griffith represents soulless and selfish ambition and how empty that can become.
Guts path seemed just to be alive and not die, now it isn't. It's more than that now.
It reflect real life of purposelessness to finally having purpose and progressing as a mature human being.
He seemed like he'd end up putting his inner beast to rest and leaving Griffith and being with Casca and the gang.
This is like every heroes story. The character lives, loses, grows, accepts, progresses, and eventually matures not to be simple minded anymore but instead a whole human being who may even master their shadows.
Its so palatable because it relates to the human condition so well.
Forgiveness is good for the living but is hard to achieve.
Genuine love also is good but hard to maintain and crushes the soul when it's taken. Only those who persevere will taste the best life has to offer; or, the messages.
Guts kills Griffith and lives happily ever after. End.

If Griffith doesn't die the writers will have to go into witness protection.
There is a point of possible conflict still left for Griffith vs Guts/Casca. His son is intertwined with Griffith's physical manifestation in reality. The fact that Moonlight boy has multiple times now done the same as Casca, pulled Guts away from his rage/berserker armor, added to the way he acts around Casca/Guts and his actual appearance leaves it pretty clear that he is their son, linked with Griffith during the events of the fake eclipse that made it so that Femto/Griffith could incarnate. He seems to be tied to the Astral World tho, while Griffith seems to be able to live his messiah-complex to it's fullest in the human realm.
How that conflict will shape itself is really unpredictable tho, but considering that Griffith even feels emotions related to the child's when he sees Casca/Guts again after the fake eclipse, he's 100% the key to Griffith getting his comeuppance.
In 358 Griffith ends the chapter looking at the full moon/spirit tree roots, which according to Schierke is when astral beings can roam freely, then he sees that his hair is starting to darken and disappears. His existence is 100% tied up to the moonlight boy's, which means that Guts can "end his journey" by slaying the kid and getting revenge. The issue comes in the form of the Moonlight boy most likely still being powerful as fuck and on the emotional side to the fact that he is his and Casca's son. Imo Guts will have to face the idea of taking revenge while killing his kid and sacrificing his future with Casca or forfeiting his goal for Casca/the kid, which is what I think he will choose. However, at the end of the day the world is still a Griffith-ran dystopia, so it might be for the better if the kid dies. It's also possible SK tries to kill the kid once he makes the connection.
Even as Casca was in her "simple" form, she was drawn to Griffith due to her sensing her child. Once the moonlight boy visits restored Casca (inevitable) she will become obsessed with getting her child back or die trying. And well...this is Berserk. They've been foreshadowing this the whole time. Guts isn't driven by revenge anymore. As it is right now, he wouldn't sacrifice his son in order to get at Griffith. He's just not motivated enough to do so. BUT, Guts has the beast inside WAITING to take over right? What's the ONLY thing that could make him go berserk, and sacrifice his new family? Loosing Casca. I think Casca is murdered by Griffith, while trying to get her son back, Guts literally looses his mind and becomes consumed with revenge, the behelit activates, and in his grief, gives into the beast finally, and he sacrifices everyone in order to gain the power of a godhand to finally kill Griffith. I see only little Schierke surving. Along with the moonlight boy, who with Schierke's help, Guts even his new demonic form, manages to save once he kills Griffith. Guts has to sacrifice/give up his body in order for the boy to have a physical vessel and thats how Guts dies. Schierke, with the brand still on her, becomes the new struggler.
honestly though imagine the shitstorm we would get if Moonlight boy where to revert to Griffith at a place like Elfhelm, i seriously doubt Falconia wouldn't immediately turn to confront them at full force

I just caught up with the story Ive been reading all day I have faith that the story will end in my lifetime I'm now obsessed with it from the illustration to this build up the ending has to be satisfying
I swear to god if Berserk ends with Gutts "being the bigger person" and giving up on his quest for revenge, I will be furious. I'm tired of this modern trope. The vapid "the real x is the x we found in our journey" is getting old. Let there be an actual resolution for once. I don't care if there's a sad ending, you can't just make Griffith an all powerful corrupt dictator and just dismiss that in the end. That force has to be confronted. I've waited for too long in my life following this story for it to end in such a hokey way.
It's not that all those things won't be addressed or confronted, but rather that I and many others just doubt Guts will deliver a killing blow to Griffith. Short of the brand and armor he's closest he's ever been to normalcy. Likely there'll be a call to action soon that'll foreshadow what the final conflict will be.

I hope guts wont chase griffith to seek revenge,i hope griffith will be defeated or somthing by someone other than guts or in some different way than killing him physicly. I think it would be in guts character now to move on from revenge thing and live a peaceful life but the brand would prevent him from doing that so he must do somthing about it

I think that if anyone will kill the godhand (if it's even possible) it would have to be the Skull knight. It's been established by Ganishka that no apostle could ever do it, and unlike Guts, he can't overcome his rage because it's the entire reason he exists and he has no reason or way to live happily. I think that's the best ending for both him and Guts.
Guts is a definition of a person defeating a god , not physically but morally . After reading the last chapter , I wholeheartedly believe he would forgive Griffith but would cut his tied with him whatsoever . Not only it would make Griffith seem more pathetic but would highlight the spirit of Guts .
We will never know, now.... Seeing Casca restored is as good as an ending we got.
