Sir, we are living in a country where political parties get funds for their election campaign and own luxuries from corporate heavyweights which must be with exchange offers, "let us come to power , we will take better care for you (at the cost of 80% population of common people)." Country where most of the political cadres are focused on earning luxurious livelihood out of public money, what kind of equality is expected but such disparity?

I agree with Sujit Nair on this issue.
One suggestion I have is if the billionnnaires are around 160 odd in number in India, once the annual expenditure budget is announced by the Govt. , the taxes payable by each billionnaire be directly spent on the item budgeted under the supervision of a combined team of Govt Tax personnel and billionaires' finance personnel with the appropriate approval processes. This way, a few goals are acheived 1) no corrupt govt can lay their hands on the tax money 2) the efficiency with which the expenses are met by avoiding money flow via Govt offices is improved 3) the receipients of the tax monies would engage in productivity much sooner. 4) the billionaires will have greater satisfaction knowing where exactly their monies are being spent and inclined more towards transparent accounting.

Sujith Nair is relentless in bringing to the awareness of people the current current economic policies, although there is no guarantee that it touches the conscience of those responsible to govern this country. The editorials are great help to the people to understand the gaps between the rich and ordinary people.
Hope Narendra Modi takes time to listen to Sujith Nair's Editorials such as this one, and understands the economic inequalities which have glaringly peaked during his term as PM of this country.
Where is the tax money, collected from the economically lower classes going? This is a question which the current political dispensation should be made to answer.

My submission is to stop IT for individuals and tax only the corporates. Instead, we need to have Stake-Holder tax to replace individual IT. Every citizen has a stake in this country and needs to contribute a minimum equally to the exchequer, whatever his state in life is. The poor needs to feel proud that he is contributing as much as the rich to the country.

And these adhaar card holders should get few special perks and privileges like I don't know, priority Services from all government bodies without charging extra, some discount in charges like utilities etc. Because right now, the middle and salaried class are having the burden of paying taxes but no benefits for them. To reduce unemployment and modern slavery (making employees work for longer hours yet considering it as a day's work) fixing hourly wage is paramount in an extremely chaotic market place like that of India. Along with fixing hourly wages, weekly work hour per employee should not be more than 40 hours until region wise unemployment data is less than 2%. Stipulated weekly hours will prevent those employed taking extra hours and making many unemployed.
Basic hourly wages should be fixed based on living wages or cost of living standards of a particular region carved out based on population density. India cannot have single basic hourly wages until 98% are employed.
Suggested rates for 5 regions as per square km population density <

We should always consider. All the rich people earning in white through fair practice would pay higher tax. They work hard and earn money and the government is planning to take 43% of their hard earned money. Ideally which means they will work 5 months for the government. While the so called businessmen in every city with income of Rs 25-30 in cash and who show 5 lac income to the government will enjoy a free ride. Why only the people who earn through checks and pay taxes have to bear the burden. Go to any market in Delhi, let's say a garment shop owner. They would earn 45-50lacs but would show 5-10 lacs in his records, rest would be covered as black money in cash. Now similarly a salaried guy who takes 50 lacs as salary annually, would pay 40% tax while the garment shop owner would be 10%. Isn't this criminal. The salaried guy pays tax entire his life, while shop owners save tax money and build houses, buys cars, support politicians.

Your day submissions are completely faulty as the report says that rich pay lowest tax in terms of their earning which means how much tax against income of we calculate rich pay lowest tax and middle class pay highest and poor pay second highest. Even after this they want to run away from our country. Also why the corporates don't have any responsibility towards the country is the biggest question in mind. You mentioned that people would be afraid to become rich as they would be afraid to pay tax but in our country poor and middle class pay highest tax So people should be afraid to be poor or middle class and not rich. Employment generated by rich is far too small compared to employment generated by middle class entrepreneurs like insurance agents and even smaller than grocery store owners present in every nuke and corner of our country but the government wants to close these profession and small businesses and bring huge unemployment and maximize profits of these jobless corporates. Corporate greed has taken over our country which was always very sensitive towards the needy.

Rich Indians are happy to taxes in US because of the privileges they get, what about we poor Indians in our own country without privileges or who can't efford it but pay more taxes than those 10 riches Indians who avail all facilities and privileges from Govt

Allow super rich to have 100 crs liquid cash on their annual turnover... Rest all the networth get deposited with Govt of India. In return govt of india will be the guarantor of that person international loans & acquisition... Why a 5 lac crores wealth of Ambani should reside ideal rather govt of india can use the money to repay govt loans to IMF.. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

5 lac cr do not lie with अम्बानी it is valuation is stock market. So the money is mostly in form of share and debentures and bonds which mister Ambani or adani himself can't use directly. Well if you are aware of the interview which Elon musk gave last year in thay interview he said i only own few million dollars in cash rest of 370 billion dollars are as company shares, same is the case with reliance and adani. Relainace pays mister Ambani approx 20000 cr as dividend each year as he is owner of 51 percent shares of reliance industries 🤠

So how did the rich get so rich & why is the country suffering so much?
They should be investigated, audited, all their wealth confiscated & sent to jail!
Why report about all this when nothing can be done about this?
What recommendations are you talking about?
All talk & no action makes this nation a poor nations!

Your point about more people will leave is imagining futureand a flimsy excuse. Ambani and Adani, Piramal, Tatas, Mahindras will not leave. . It doesn't matter if some other HNIs leave taxes will come from others who are not leaving. The rate of increase of inequality and the rate of decline in affordability of goods and services for the bottom 70 Crore will have far more serious impact than a few fatcats leaving India.

Shaikh mohammadji, why will MPs and MLAs agree not to accept pension and freebies? They want their future generations to simply sit and spend money accumulated by illegal methods. Moreover, they raise their salaries and perks periodically without any discussion. If PM brings laws to stop pension, perks of MPs and MLAs, who will support him to form the government? If the government taxes the rich industrialists proportionate to their wealth and earnings why will they donate funds which is required by all the political parties to spend for elections. Nothing will change in this country.

Seems like most of these suggestions are implemented in Kerala. But look where they ended up - bankruptcy. Now after tactical introdution of Neethi ayog by Modi, state is allocted with almost no central funds as those funds are allocated for bettering all these basic amnities in states which lacks those. This was a clear foul play by Mr. Modi where he intentionally allocated nothing for these basic amnities and used those funds for subsidizing industries to attract those to Gujarat. Once he captured the center, he came up Neethi ayog just to pay his bills in expense of other states which invested their major funds on improving peoples lives.. Perfect looting..

How democratic govt can give all the assets of country behalf of privitisation especially two or three companies benefits. This is a real political brokering. Still they saying they dont have any consideration getting from govt. How simply they make us foolish 😊. They underestimates the common peoples commonsense.
