- still a good game to pile the lads in and have a fun time with, but man the new SCPs are kinda crazy strong. Like making the game pretty unfun strong. Especially the inability to dodge Shy Guy, and the regenning health. Makes Facility Guard an even worse role than it was previously. Also encourages even more elevator camping than before.
Also, you probably noticed Whiskey and Iora were there between the two sessions, the first time around I was a guest on Whiskey's stream and the second Iora just wanted to come game with us. Go check them out, they're great fun.

I’ve had so many great moments on this game, meme servers are fucking hilarious. There was this one 096 I juked out for so long by turning myself into a fidget spinner by spinning around rapidly while mashing wasd and it somehow worked multiple times while I was a lone mtf having to juke multiple scps until they finally got me but I was just laughing so damn hard the entire time. Love this game.
My very favourite moment in the game was getting stuck in the 914 room with 939 as a scientist
I had the only keycard on me, so the dog couldn't leave the room... But neither could I, because, well, I was standing petrified in the corner, not moving a muscle, with a body of a fallen security guard next to me
I've waited until decontamination began, shouted "I'M TAKING YOU WITH ME" into the voice chat, grabbed the fallen guard's gun, and even got an achievment for killing an SCP as a scientist xD
That's because the games IS an SCP
The only thing I don't like about the new scps is the way they implemented AHP. It encourages the SCPs to camp constantly while their AHP regens, and means you need an absolutely absurd amount of firepower even to just damage them. Healing on kill would have been better
That's not my issue with them (IIRC it was worse before when health was a limited resource that could run out, therefore if they got on low health they were encouraged to camp far more than now).
My issue is that now, if you are a single player, or even in a small group, you have literally no impact on them. It takes combined fire from around 6 players to consistently get through the AHP, meaning that there is nothing your tiny little sqaud can do to actually damage most of the SCPs.
173 can keep it mostly as is, he has significant difficulty in disengaging from large groups and they're already his kryptonite. Your best bet as a small squad is still to just back away with the doors open, and he can't even touch you. Large groups can still just gun him down, AHP or no AHP.
096 can keep it while enraged. It's hard enough to punish 096 in his tiny window of vulnerability, so it sucks that small groups of scattered players (IE most of the MTF wave after 096 has run through) really struggle to break through the AHP. It does help him stay terrifying while enraged, which is a good thing, so he can have it there. Just have it not be a thing while not enraged.
939 is the most egregious example. I suspect they only gave it to him because he was by far the weakest SCP without it. But it just makes him so unfun to fight. I can run rings around them all day long, but if we don't have half the wave with me there's nothing useful I can do. Healing on kills would be a far better option, it forces him to remain agressive while still allowing him to be punished for bad plays.
Absolutely agreed on this. Facility Guards are even more of a god-awful unfun role than before because even if you group up and play your absolute best, you can't do shit to any of the SCPs now. At least before if you got the drop on an SCP and lit him up, even if you didn't kill him you'd still get some damage in that would make beating him in the future easier. Now SCPs can just walk into Facility Guards and laugh. A Guards damn near sole role is now just executing D-Bois and therefore making the game less fun for everyone.

@@Azrail101 Shy guy should be re-worked so that he tracks the first person to look at him, and can see him through the entire facility, always being able to find him. But maybe, I dunno, make everyone invisible to him so he only is able to see people who've looked at him, with the list of targets increasing as more people see him; allowing him to stay enraged as long as anyone who's seen him is still alive, but those who haven't seen his face are just fine.

imo they really need to add new methods of containment to all the scps. every one they've reworked has been buffed significantly and humans were nerfed by things like adding stamina, and yet there's still only 2 i think that have a way to be killed other than "shoot them until they die" or "blow up the nuke".
I know 106 has his normal method of using the femur breaker.
As for the other SCPs, here's a few methods that could help people like NTF against them;
173 could be contained by a bag that randomly spawns on 1 NTF member whenever each group spawns, same method for 173 works for 096, but since the bag gets used you'd have an extra layer of strategy to pick an choose which SCP (If both spawn) to contain.

You're right, but why can't 173 just, I dunno, teleport out of it once someone loses eyes on it. Plus with the teleporting mechanic that's already in the game, it wouldn't quite work. The bag idea at least has a choice on the NTF's part on whether 173 or 096 is a bigger threat, and without both of them in the same game, the cage would be useless and you'd still have to add the bag anyway for 096 (Granted, it'd be a big fuckin bag to fit 173 in it, but the point stands)

@@unnoticed4571 Well, 173 doesn't technically teleport according to lore if I remember correctly. It's just that he's incredibly fast.
Honestly I miss old peanut, primarily because I could just look at him, play sound effects, slowly walk away every time I blink, then he just has to sit there/follow me and can never kill me :)

Honestly, agreed. The new peanut is fun to play for a power trip, but after the first round as him I realised wow it's just unfun for the victims. The forcible teleport + instant kill is stupidly strong, you can use it to slip through closing doors, and if you proc it before enough people look at you the timer doesn't increase, so even if a big group comes around you can just teleport right behind them and start killing.
@@RimmyDownunder I feel the same with 096, now that he can see you as long as you look at him, yeah, it makes more sense if you follow the "lore", but he's just too overpowered like this. Not the mention how fun it was managing to hide behind corners and watch him zoom by without knowing you were there

They changed 173 because the original sculpture is copyrighted and the artist only approved the wiki to use it (and approval is a very strong word, it's more like "I'm not going to sue you right now")

@@admiralpepper6933 iirc he made a platform to monetize SCP (but he has no relation to the SCP wiki, so basically he was stealing) then tried to threaten the OG SCP wiki with legal action in order to formally take over the wiki. There were some legal gray area involving different jurisdictions, SCP wiki not doing the groundwork and registering itself as a trademark in certain regions, basically fucky law stuff that allowed the case to happen, because otherwise it was a pretty clear common sense case.
TLDR guy was a fucker who stole SCP and the legal action was to threaten the SCP wiki into accepting his coup.

It's good fun, but definitely in need of a rebalance. AHP and 096 especially.
Honestly the rebalance should build out what the humans should actually be doing, and what options they have in any situation.
Perhaps making SCP's have bursts of power and encouraged to fall back and plan when those bursts wear off. if AHP stays, HP on scps that use it should be very low. Forcing these scps to fall back once they take enough fire, but letting them enter engagements on a regular interval, creating a rhythm to how their encounters go and rewarding bold players who can keep up the pressure. i feel like this was the intended effect of ahp originally, but it seems a little overbearing for this to occur.
Guards should have an ability that disables the video of 1-2 cameras, to counter computer's ability to control the map late game by taking actions in the early game. rewarding their efforts and making them impactful.
Guards should also have a timed objective to assemble a cage or trap, maybe some doors are locking down with the parts behind them, or fires are spreading in the rooms they are in. this would would give MTF access to an alternative means of containment for walnut. perhaps this trap can double for shy guy, doctor and the dogs too making it a choice as to which one they want to shut down, or if any scp's want to sacrifice themselves on it and letting it be multi functional.
There should be documents in each zone that chaos and D-boys can collect and bring to surface to increase their score.
Personally id like more hiding places for D-boys and scientists in light containment, nothing crazy but just few boxes or maybe alternatives for rooms? its very hard to survive as either class due to scp's and id like a way to increase the amount of horror in the game by a lil.
and can the surface be altered some? it doesn't feel well designed for gunplay as both spawns can be camped fairly easily from multiple locations

Specifically whoever sees his face. This includes those that see his face while in the process of hunting and killing those that aggroed him in the first place. This had led to some... issues for the Foundation.
starts at 15 seconds, each new person that looks is an added 3 seconds. caps at 30 or 45 seconds.
Okay but lore doesn't matter. This is a multiplayer game that is meant to be fun. The new SCPs are crazy tough.
@@RimmyDownunder heavy agree. the added AHP to the SCP's and with more people missing their shots due to new gun change, SCP's are incredibly hard to kill even as a group. especially when 096 punishes groups.
@@RimmyDownunder He should really just be unable to attack people that haven't seen him. If that were the case, you could've just sat in a corner for a bit until he calms down. Of course that's assuming he can't clip into you to make you see his face, or that his friends aren't on the way to kill you.
At present, attacks against targets are insta-kill, and attacks against non-targets are like 30 HP or something. You became a target when you were running from him, so you died instantly, but even if you hid you would've died from the weaker attacks. Definitely needs a change.
I've also heard his look-detection is incredibly aggressive, and will mark you as a target even if you saw him for only a single frame, even if you saw him from extremely far away, and at a greater angle than original 096.

I remember it was that the original 173 statue artist made a deal with the SCP Founders that no money can be gained from his work. That still stood but Northwood decided that sounds dumb, changed Peanut into their own model. Huge uproar when they decided, most of us thought they were going to make SCP:SL into a cash cow.

Thats the trouble with SCPs lore wise a lot of them are damn near invincible and balancing that in a game to make them scary yet fair is tricky, still its a fun game and once you get used to them being stronger you learn to group up more to kill them.
Make it so MTF can bag 096 while he’s passive, problem solved. 939 can be killed by conventional means, 173 is genuinely not a threat in lore if you aren’t by yourself. If players could force blink that would help significantly. The hardest ones to contain should be 106 and 049, but I’m pretty sure 049 can be killed through semi-conventional means as well, at least in some canons.

I love that Rummy strategizes even as an SCP.
Buff guns please, please. Right now most scp is nigh invincible, impossible to kill even by a good mtf squad. It's almost impossible for the foundation to win recently, having to deal with chaos, class d and SCP. The few scientists are already their weakness, atleast buff the mtf guns to work better against SCPs. The chaos lmg are devastating against scp with their volume of fire and ammo, so the scp just team up with them to avoid dying and make it impossible for foundation to win.

He can still attack you. Unless they've changed that again. He just takes two hits instead of one, not like that really matters.
