Remember people, what sounds good in the room doesn’t normally sound good when recorded in isolation. Live recordings like this arnt normally mixed afterward because the signals arnt recorded individually on a bazillion channel interface and can’t really be fixed in a DAW. Honestly, the band sounded tight. Vocals are never going to be as good live unless they are heavily processed.
This is pretty much a raw tape. Majority of singers sound worse than this live on the raw mix. Ben isn't even that off in pitch here, but because the mix itself is all wonky it sounds off (Whoever was working this show did a pretty bad job at the mix). But when you're actually listening to them (physically) at the show you can't hear the little nuances because they get the whole package of sound if that makes sense to you. I'm sure this sounded great to the people there. (Amazing what a good or bad sound tech can do to a song live.)
Yh it sounds kinda bad, kinda very bad, but what you say is true. A shame since this is an ACTUAL professional recording. The guy/girl that set this up has to lose his/her job loool. Im going back to spotify
