After owning many of Marlene's works of art over the years, I cried with happiness watching the world find out what I have seen and known all along,; Marlene Rose is a phenomenal artist and person!
I met Mrs. Rose during a plane ride, a few years ago, and she was such a delight. She is so kind and very passionate about her art, and for good reason - - it's beautiful! Someday, I'd love to own one of her beautiful creations!!

Marlene Rose had a booth quite some years ago within the St Louis Art Show, which is traditional every September downtown, Clayton, MO. I had been several times to view any new artists and what art was being brought to the public. I had never expected to be casually strolling through the center of the show while glancing down one of the street arteries to see what the other booths were showing. I spotted glass, and I was pulled right to Marlene Rose's booth. Now, this is true. And more, I have never been one to admire glass art. I have admired most of the other mediums. With the glass, I have only liked very little and few pieces. Then of course, when Chihuly's work showed, I was wowed. When I got to Marlene's booth, I was surprised by my own personal reaction to her work. It was not one or two of her pieces I liked, but I liked all of her booth. I was surprised by my own response. I was even surprised by my overall pleasure her glass brought to me. Then I learn she was domiciled in my childhood hometown, which later, she opened her gallery to the same given area of the lovely gulf coast of Florida. I have followed Marlene Rose since her St Louis visit. Something said she was of a specific work and on her way. I have had a pleasure following her all these years to see what her glass inspiration brings to us next. As for CBS, congratulations for being so clever to program Marlene Rose and to bring an artist of specific medium to us. The USA has many artists of various mediums for the public to know. Marlene Rose, thank you!
I am trying to find some history (1800s) on European made sand cast glass. So far, I have not been successful. I would really appreciate it if you can direct me to a website or source. I love your Sunday Morning Sun piece, and I enjoyed watching the video. Thanks, CBS and Marlene.
Her work looks nice, but I hope she finds a better material for the molds. Styrofoam is horrible for our environment. Best wishes to her, though. And thanks to CBS Sunday Morning for this interesting report. :)
So is she doing this because she respects other cultures and wants to display her art? Or does she make these to make a profit off of cultural art that has nothing to do with her
