You guys asked and so here is my response: why I’m going freelance in 2022. Here are the three main reasons I decided that this was the right moment and it had to happen this year :)
😂😂😂 Freelancer? Paying italian taxes? Crazyness. I was a freelancer for twenty years. After the last three-four years of those twenty years, I turned to employee four years ago. In Italy you simply CAN'T work as a freelancer if you are a person who does not like to be robbed.
Hi Tia 💖 I’m new to your channel and I’m trying to binge watch your videos to understand better. What do you do? I’m moving to Italy and I came across your channel and I was so inspired 😊
Congrats on all the new change! In 2022, I’m viewing myself and my brand as the product, so also going freelance (in part)! This was a nice video to watch.
It's amazing how, when you make the leap, suddenly many opportunities start coming your way. And you can't really see them before opening the P.IVA. So yeah, if you've been thinking of going freelance for a while, do it asap and see the magic happen!
It’s true and it’s really hard to explain it to people who haven’t experienced it! They’re so afraid of the partita iva but while working I’ve had a partita iva for almost 5 years and I’ve been in regime ordinario for 2 … and I’m still alive guys 😅
I've been a freelance writer (in America) for almost 20 years. It's perfect for me. I don't do well taking direction in an office environment! I never made enough money to do really well in life, but I've always gotten by. Only in the last few years have I demanded more $ from my clients and received it. My point is...if you know you're meant to be a freelancer, make it happen. It's worth it.
Awesome! YEy! Am first can't wait to learn Tia even before knowing the truth still congratulations. I just opened my Partita IVA .Ok lemmi seat and watch !
I just quit my office job that I wasn't enjoying and I'm planning on doing translation freelance! I still need to figure out how I can do it all, but I have till April to figure it out
Thank you so much!! Well I still need to buy a mic so nothing really to suggest there but for these videos I typically film with my panasonic GH5 (which allows me to shoot in 4k as well) with a tripod and support from a ringlight, though I would like to change to softboxes
Lovely informative video as always Tia :) There's only one aspect of it I can criticise: audio sounds fairly bad 💀 Maybe even a cheap lavalier mic would be of noticeable help? Also, your voiceovers sound much better than audio from actual video-recorded parts, not sure of what mic you're using but if you could use the same equipment to record audio when you're recording the video part, that would improve audio quality A LOT 😁 Sorry for being *that* guy 🤣
I don’t think you’re risk aversive at all, instead you’re a highly calculated risk taker, and it’s paid off. Look at all that you’ve accomplished. The future holds many great things for you. 😊
I have a question Tia Taylor, i just finished my study and itshard to find a job, so if i opened an e comerece shop like, amazon, will it helpful to transit from job search to work visa or self employment, and directions or links suggestions appreciable.
I went through the same process at the beginning of 2021, basically for the same reasons (although I'm not a team leader nor a team player... I kinda like to work alone 🙂 ). I'm in computer science/engineering/IT so it's relatively easy to freelance these days. Looking back, going full Partita IVA was the best decision in my working career so far. Good luck Tia!
Agreed on all points. partita iva is so bureaucratic. Have you thought about e-residency EU company as an alternative? simpler paper work, all in English and all remote/online. No trips to l’agenzia delle entrate lol. I did it, it’s beautiful.
I've been thinking about it. What about the personal taxes in Italy? And if the company has e-residency - what about the company's taxes, where do you pay these? Would be really interesting to know from the accounting/tax point of you.
@@april6726 Note e-residency programs are NOT tax havens. It’s just convenient for modern freelancers and digital nomads. For example Estonia: pay yourself a blend of dividends (20% corp tax to Estonia only) and stipendo lordo. At the end of year if residing in Italy, your commercialista can calculate the netto salary and 🇮🇹 personal (social) taxes, so save 1/3 of your salary to pay social tax then. As an “indeterminato” of your company, this is strategic for getting credit/mutuo in italy as a “freelancer”.
@@lidarizza6871 Thank you for taking the time to explain. Still a bit hard for me to understand what country's tax laws a company with e-residency needs to follow - is it Estonia's laws? But I guess I just have to speak to a professional to get all my questions answered correctly 🙂 Ideally someone who could show me whether I would I gain financially if my company had an e-residency and not an Italian residency. Last year I paid 60% in tax of my total income (p.iva). It doesn't feel normal. Would love to talk to other professionals about this!
so i've heard of this but since my permesso was always tied to my work in italy/taxes paid in italy and italian partita iva I never really looked into it... but now that I have permanent residency I'll look into it lol. I don't mind the p.iva so far but i'll never say no to a simpler option
It's ok it should not a big deal. I have been freelancer and now i hate it. You will understand if it will be good for you, j don't think but good Luck

Im a lone wolf and get bored quickly so i been thinking about freelancing. Short contracts would work too.
