Hi Patrick, I sent you the e-mail that day!! Maybe it got caught up in a spam filter.
So sorry. I may have. Thank you for commenting though and thank you for the inspiration 👊
Good job, J Kirschner!
legend
Awesome ! Thanks for sharing !
Nice job! Great idea!
Just solves another issue with our Report consumers.... really appreciable guys
I mean... coming to old gems like this on your PTO morning is always amazing :D
Tooltips are a game changer in power bi. So many uses along with bookmarks too.
This is brilliant.
Attempts to add it to an existing report... Report was made in a 2018 version of PBI and even though it had subsequently updated the visuals don't allow for visual header toggling 😠
I was waiting forever for this feature and had forgotten about it. Thanks for raising awareness on it! It's amazing that you can even add a gif to the background for animated documentation.
thanks for the great video. we only need one additional thing. if you move your mouse over the image, it should not disappear
This is really amazing, but just today my great reports got horrible reviews by peers that simply don’t understand how to use Power BI. I put this on Microsoft. You shouldn’t have to know how to use a report. Half culture change/user education and half Microsoft creating some sort of user reference similar to this tooltip that can be applied at will or easily linked to any report.
You guys can save the World!! Kudos!
This is an excellent tip. I was training folks today, and we normally use the bookmarks pane to do things like this. Thanks!
I didn't know you could get the gif to work. That is awesome!
Our minds were blown! 🙂
This a cool video to add a self help to users ! Didn't know a hide page option is available all these while too.
Fantastic Patrick... Love this feature. Thank you so much..
Very welcome! Thanks for watching 👊
Great video! Recently started using Power BI and struggling with how to provide help to users without cluttering reports! Love it!
Amazing tip. Thanks Patrick 👍
Anytime! Thanks for watching. 👊
Your content is so touching
Thanks Patrick and Kirchner Mind blowing !!!
Great tip & love the coffee mug! (Power BIer) 🍺
Appreciate that Chris! Love the coffee mug also 👊
Hello Patrick, thanks for the video!
Having too many hided pages wouldn't impact the performance of the report?
Hi Patrick, on this note, how do we disable right click selection on a visual? I have users that may right click and see options...I want to disable or gray out those right click options. Thank you!
All right all right, End Users, everything is too much for you. 😆
hahahaha
Really great stuff Patrick and Adam! Thanks for sharing.
Awesome video as always! your content is very helpful. Thank you.
Way cool...definitely going to implement this in my reports!!
This is great but the Header tooltip is not appearing in the service. What am I missing??
Hey Patrick, does this work in Power BI Embedded as well?
Love it!! Great job! Thanks for sharing, Patrick.
Very usefull, thanks. I guess I will use this feature soon!
I cannot make GIF file as usage of third party is blocked at client site so do I need to use screenshot only?
Great tip. Do you know how to do a tool tip per column header in a matrix table?
very nice but how does your map visual appear to pop up when you clicked on it in the desktop please? It sort of pops out as a new window.
Wow! Awesome!!!
Thank you for sharing!!!
Most welcome! Thanks for watching 👊
Very cool tip, thank you for sharing
Wow! Patrick this is excellent thank you, Just yesterday was requested somethkng similar and indeed this is Bananas 👏 thanks for sharing it
how do you create a tool tip when you hover over an actual column header (ie show as ERA then on hover over display earned run average)
How do I create animated GIF of a visual just like you showed in your Video?
What if i want to have multiple tooltips, do i have to create new slides for each tooltip?
when you clicked on "Total sales amount by sales country" it got zoomed out. When I am trying to do the same with my visual, it is not getting zoom out. Please guide on this.
Great solution
Hi,
I need some help. How do I disable show as a table feature.
Great tip, Many thanks
@guyinacube Is there any way to reduce the size of visual headers or may be include them inside the visual to right corner, which is mostly empty all the time
How to pass customer no from one report to other report via url?? Please do a video
Hi, what .gif creator was it that you mentioned? Thank you 😊
This is just awesome.. Thank you..
your video so helpful
wow this is amazing. Awesome tip!
Hi I need some help please how to disable " show as a table" function.
This is nice for sighted users but is not accessible by the MAS C standards of Microsoft. Check out //enable from CORPNET.
Appreciate the comment. Agree it probably doesn't fit the bill for Accessable standards. Of note, this youtube channel isn't a Microsoft property. Folks in the community won't be able to hit Microsoft Corpnet. People looking to implement something like this would need to weigh that along with their audience.
@@GuyInACube yes, I am just too lazy to look up the correct WCAG reference :P
This is so awesome!!!
This is great stuff. Do i need to use a different software to make the gif?
This is bananas!
Si sos argentino este video tiene un significado muy distinto
Really it is usefull. Thank you
It's amazing ! Thank you Patrick.. I have one question about calculation filed. For an example, we add three boxes alike column in BI tab If user puts value in those alike 100 in sales column, 12 in month column then finally create result column then it should multiple two values (100*12) and provide output in result box(1200). Is there any feasibility to do this?
Great! Very useful!
YES! This was awesome. Great way to educate users.
Hi Patrik,
It's a good video, i know u can do good videos only, pls keep it up.....
Cool trick!
Hello guy. Can you please do not zoom the screen. Cause when i watch video in full screen on my laptop everything seems allright and when you zoom in, i mix up like "ou what happened there"
Hi how do you animate the chart once u hover over it ... the chart comes up
I create a GIF that was added to the tooltip page.
Fantastic
love this - v helpful!
Hi! Love your blog! I have been playing around with adding buttons to reports and it's great. Love this video, as I learnt how to import a gif and use it as a tooltip for another page. However, what I want to do is have a button on a report page, that when it's clicked, will show the gif (tooltip) that's on another page. Is this possible? With the Button- Action, there is no option for tooltip under Type. I have tried assigning a bookmark to the button, but that didn't work, as the report is on another page. Please help! blog! Like, if u search for this video in Guy in a Cube Library in 2020..ty guys this is awesome!!
Hahahaha thanks Juan 👊
What software did you use to create a GIF?
Camtasia from TechSmith. SnagIt may do it as well but not sure. We've only used Camtasia.
Nice one, can u recommend us a gif editor? Ty
We use Camtasia to create the animated Gifs. Only one we've ever used. I'd have to do some searching to find others.
bingo man ...wow this is new one i learnt
Bananas !!! Love this
Does this work with PowerBi- embedded?
It should.
Geaux Tigahs! LOL!
Is this guy Will Smith 's brother?
Will Smith
