Well, here I am at 7,000 ft. above sea level in Sapello, New Mexico re-living my childhood by following this excellent travel video. At the time I lived on The Strand in a little brown one-story 2-bedroom house in 1957. I was a "junior lifeguard" for Station 16--to get this position I had to be able to swim out to a distance matching half-way the length of the pier; I remember one time needing to call the state beach emergency number when a small cabin cruiser hit the breakers and was washed ashore carrying a young father and his little daughter who were on board--they miraculously escaped serious injury. Almost daily I used to walk down to the pier and fish at a spot about three-quarters of the way toward the Roundhouse (now an aquarium) where you could buy fresh bait, and the best hamburgers in the world! The beach nowadays looks almost artificially clean--I remember much more seaweed and shells dotting the landscape. Such a lovely way to spend a summer day!
I went for a walk today, started at Sand Dune park, then down to the beach and back. Manhattan Beach is a blessing for us... Shame on the people who walk their dogs and don't pick up, I saw plenty this morning. Let's keep MB beautiful and clean! 🤽🏖️🌅
I lived in San Jose for 3 years and I had to move back to Texas because my parents are old. I miss the weather, trees, ocean and flowers. It can be 100 degrees at night here.

Very nice video thank you! Its hard to believe it is in LA county! It looks like looking at the weather it is almost like fall weather. Mean while we are in the 100's in NYC with high humidity and closed beaches. But next month will be fall then snow storms will start in a few months and last all year. So Its nice that you have mild weather!
I surfed there many times in mid 80's till now (I am a bodyboarder). By The Way, Don't leave the bags like car key, clothes, or etc on the beach while you go to surf. Well, two guy surfers left their bag. They went to surf when my friend and I was there with them in the water at between 26th and 27th street in 1990 or 1991. Someone stole their stuffs because no one people were around on the sands. I felt bad for them.
Yep! And it was intentional. I was like, “That’s how u show ur going appreciation to ur state?😒” Pple have not fking respect FOR ANYTHING anymore. Especially not for pple like this Yt here trying to show the good side of our great American states. Fking Pathetic. Pple like that “Burper” need to get the fk out of our country. We don’t need any of that fking negativity! 😒😒
Right at the end of the video at 46:02.... either female biker goes and says, “u should pay a little more attention.” Who was in the right? The biker or the camraman. Me: I would of said, “Ur too lazy u can’t turn ur bike?” 😏
Awesome video. I used to live in the area. So it’s nice to look back and see how it’s changed since I moved from there..But it just boggles my mind That you still have stupid people out there walking around without mask even though they have big signs and banners posted everywhere. Those people should definitely get a $500 fine.

I grew up there but now live in LANDLOCKED Colorado , nearest beach is Galveston Texas over 900 miles away. Thanks for the video.
Did you know that not long ago this beach was called BRUCE’s Beach and was stolen from its original owners by the KKK then renamed to Manhattan Beach.
