I gotta see this
5:57 Actual SFV online match starts here.
That Ryu could move so well in the frozen time
they all do ... for whatever reason
Lmao, truer words when playing a Gold+ Bison for the very first time, "this has to be a gimmick." And dude, you did really well against Pokey. The patience you displayed, from your experience playing FGs for a while really showed, especially against an Akuma.
Ryu players are too well versed in dealing with the waterfall stage lag.
I really appreciate when fgc content creators are creative with the type of content that they do, hope you keep this up!
Great video Diagophone. You've presented a masterclass in how to not only learn a new game, but also learn a new controller in one video. Your attitude and approach to both is genuinely positive and you're worth all the respect you've earned as a player. Can't wait to see you play SF6 more after full release.
This was awesome! would love to see you do this with other games
Loved the video, Diaphone! Long-form and growth mindset content are probably my two favorite types of content.
I hope you do more of these. I was really good editing and I liked see a different game for once.
Fascinating how someone who plays at a high level in a fighting game switches to another.
Im sure fundamentals like anti air, teching, and blocking just carries over to any game.
It doesn't in plenty of cases. The only thing that really translates is the knowledge to block, and how quickly you can pick up combos.
Throw teaching in strive is WAY harder than sf5. Pretty sure throws come out in 1 frame in strive
@@JackTheRustler1332 throws are 2f in GGST but the tech window is larger than that. That being said throws are much less powerful as a pressure tool since most normals have to much pushback (especially if FDed) that throw will wiff without some sort of momentum.
Fundamentals definitely transfer… but there’s a lot that doesn’t transfer as well. I think one of the biggest things that helps between games that people don’t think about is mindset and being able to learn effectively
@@evilded2 yeah I'm not a huge strive fan tbh. Don't know as much as I shoulds. Thanks for the info!
This was awesome. I've been trying to get from Gold to Plat before SF6 and this process for improvement is definitely giving me ideas
Yooo, pausing the music at 20:40 was some genius editing, really excellent stuff. Great content from you Diaphone!
Dude I'm stoked for the new GBVS, can't wait to see you playing it again.
Great video, love the intro and explaining of the challenge. Keep at it Diaphone!!!!!
Great video! It's cool to see the process you use to learn. Also watching your first bison match was hilarious 😂. So many knowledge checks
I think this was incredibly well done. Not only making it to diamond in a (in my estimation) very short time, but also doing very well against someone who has clearly played the game for a long time. Kudos! Seeing you try Tekken 7 next would be cool.
Super fun video - honestly surprised how much I enjoyed it! When the music stopped with both you and your opponent on 1-touch left and your win streak on the line I really felt it! My vote for the next video is on Samurai Showdown! :D
Really great video! Would definitely love to see you do more of these
Great video, not just the idea but also the execution. Would be pumped for another!
I really love these kind of videos and im glad that there is somone out there who does these challanges
One of the best videos I've watched from an fgc creator ina long time, hopefully see you in Tekken 7 soon
It's interesting to see what you prioritize in learning a new game. You can get that when a new game comes out, but theres always too much chaos and new information to internalize that stuff.
damn caste popping off. came a long way from the early days, happy to see the improvement :)
God this was such a great video! Good job on the grind!
This was awesome to watch, honestly. Can't wait to see the Daigophone comeback!
Thanks man you inspired me to try again excellent journey dude.
just got this in my recommended n watched the whole thing this video is Epic as Hell
I really like how you put the songs as they come up and the editing overall is some of the best I've seen in the fgc.
That's awesome content.
I really hope you'll keep doing these
Dude you improved more at this game in one week than I have since release lol.
Great stuff. You improved very quick and the match against pokey was really good. I’m interested in seeing Your Rookie to Diamond journey for sf6.
Really fun to watch! As a newer Juri player also switching to leverless, this just made sense for me 🙂. Now if only I could get that good in a week 😂.
This was a good watch! Thinking about doing something like this myself in another game.
Great video, so glad I stumbled onto you Guilty Gear Bridget guide :). Look forward to the next video in this series. Would love to see you try some DBFZ.
Liking and commenting. Don’t usually do that on UA-cam but gotta make sure you get that luck in the algorithm.
Sweet vid!
This was very entertaining, keep making em
Great video! Next can be Tekken or any other game, but with a coach and/or a training partner (I wanna see how much you can progress with some help).
This is one of my favorite video formats of yours. I hope it does well 🙏
really cool video please more of it! :) have felt every fight! haha
Was fun watching your journey, the moment I saw a Ryu or that inverse-color Karin on Waterfall stage I knew you were in for a bad time, lol
As far as other games it'd be interesting to see you tackle AC+R since there's so many killers online that play nowadays
I’d love to see Diaphone in AC+R
Awesome vid, looking forward to seeing you play sf6
Hey! I’m doing a similar challenge with Juri (just off myself). The hardest thing for me so far is hit conforming and not accidentally through out DPs. Got to work on that for myself.
Plays Juri and Rem 🦶🤔
In a seriousness, this video really highlights how Diaphone has a grip on fighters like no other…
More like grippers on fighters
SonicFox
Great video! As for suggestions, there's a monthly last blade 2 tournament... I played LB2 casually for quite a while and I think it's a great game but never took part in any tourney. I would be curious to see how quickly you could pick it up and what you think of it!
Amazing video as always!
I love this kind of content, would be sick to see it again
Very impressive set vs Pokey actually. He was not on his main, but you started suddenly playing out of your mind. Awesome series, I want to see you get GM in For Honor lmao.
Diaphone out here with the misinformation at 1:14 lol. Glad to see some great progress in such a short time!
Can we just take a second to appreciate the fact the account name is Daigophone?
The music during that ryu match was a nice touch
truly goaty behavior, great content
Great video! I'm kind of having the same experience going through Grand Blue right I get that everything is reactable but there is so many gimmicky knowledge checks too.
Do you play UMvC 3? If not I would love to see you learn that
LOL The music getting funky with the lag was amazing
6:00 Classic Waterfall Ryu player
Legendary content right here. 👏🦖
I was on the edge of my seat those last sets. well played! Tekken 7 next!
Damn that was so fun im happy this ist parted like parts for each rank or some shit like that
tight vid man, thanks for making content
This is diaphones best video yet!
I aspire to play fighting games like this man every day on god. I really like your mindset diaphone
A humble opinion, if you're grinding hitbox, I personally recommend drilling kof combos. Sf for ie half circle or qc doesn't care always if you cleanly hit the diagonals but kof does. It's good for getting them entered properly and getting your speed up too
Of course if you just play sf this doesn't matter but I found my hitbox execution leveled way up when kof xv came out.
Great vids !
The music sounding like it was underwater during lag was hilarious
I liked the video and wouldn't mid seeing more.
Great video my man
Love this series
For qcf from b and db on hitbox i use this trick - before releasing any fingers i press all of them (which gives you down) and then just release fingers one at a time. Can be done really quick and reliably. So if i'm holding b+d, i go b+d+f, d+f, f and for holding b the same b, b+d+f, d+f, f. The same works for inputting halfcircles. Have quitted hitbox once before realising that. =)
i popped off mad hard when you took a game off pokey, you're cracked
As someone who plays mostly street fighter but has become a big diaphone fan I must say that this pleases me greatly ;v
Sfv came a long way. It's nice seeing some newer players trying it out
great video man I still have not gotten to silver yet lmao can use all the help I can get
Very nice video with an intresting idea!Next game I vote for is MK11
This was super fun!
This was really cool! Outside of Tekken I can’t think of another game that has enough of a population to do this with besides maybe Dragon Ball.
Oh let's go 🍿
this was dope
its crazy how fast you improve do you play on na or eu?
Very well done try, I'm off to get at least Gold myself in ranked, but I'm getting there, slowly.
That said, I didn't know about the stmp crmk lpdp loop. Interesting...
fun video diaphone
this is great actually
Would love to see you do a video like this on +R :)
the music editing in this is fucking great btw
Godlike video
I propose a fighter challenge where you play a fighter series for a couple of days to get knowledge and then enter a tourney for each game.
Damn, I forgot how many absolute bangers the sfv soundtrack has
Hell yeah, Tekken next!
I was definitely guilty of the "you must know x combos before playing online" mentality when I first started playing fighting games. I hated being stuck in training mode, and for the longest time I just thought fighting games weren't for me. Then one time I just went, "fuck it" and went online without knowing anything but my character's normals and I had an absolute blast. I still almost never go into training mode, my combos are basically non-existent, but I can outpoke just about anyone at my skill level. Bonus points for the fact that getting poked to death makes a lot of people BIG mad.
whoever did the sound needs a raise.
I'd love to see you give melee ranked a shot 👀
hope the video blows up to see another run. id love to see T7
What I actually learnt from these kinds of videos an trying to climb ranked for the first time is... The thing you have to learn first is what moves are good to spam and how to deal with said spam.
Yes so true of any fighting game
that zangief was honestly sick
Are you switching to sf6 full time away from ggst?
We're still picking the next game you do regardless of how you do and you know it lol
Ik it's probably not my place, and you probably already know, but all throughout your online matches, when yhu were playing aggressive in neutral, with the walk-in-blocks, there were two notable reasons i could think why you got caught; your spacing, you entered their threat bubble (specifically against Luke) and kept doing it. That mixed with my second point, your pattern (step-step-block, step-step-block) was very readable and they did their moves just as you went to stand up. There was no break in the pattern.
If this isn't helpful for yhu, then i hope it's helpful for newer players; when in neutral in slower fighters, you really need to be unpredictable. Having a movement tool is very helpful is SF, but you need to be able to enter and exit their threat bubble, as well as mix it up with different distances between blocks and different times you block. I usually have a mental clock in my head, and i try to step and block at random intervals, and wait for them to mess up and punish. The meta is very much like smash, trying to bait and punish.
I hope this helps newer players/players that might not have dipped their toes into SF-Style fighters :]
I have no input on the next game, just wanted to say I enjoyed the video!
Diaphone be like:
Imma maintain my 28 win streak
-
Damn, Super Gold got hands
gg
i started playing less than 3 days ago, just hit ultra bronze, and all i can say is going "wait thats plus?" has a spiritual connection for me
Damn good run
