I would like to see an indepth review, including blind taste testing, that compares Hypernova Ultra to Hypernova to a control grinder. The control grinder should be a popular and well known grinder. I want to buy either a HNU or HN burr upgrade for VS3G2, but first I need to see performance testing & review.
Many grinder manufacturers specifically tell you to never adjust the grind setting whilst it is on. If you go tighter you could smash the burs together and end your grinder. The only reason you would turn the grinder on to change the grind size would be if you were going smaller in grind you might catch a bean you didn't know was in there. But catching a bean is nothing compared to the burs smashing into each other.
Video looked, and sounded good, but it seemed the presenter wasn't familiar enough with the Varia grinder, and there wasn't a sufficient description of the various coffee notes that the new burrs produced, especially from the other tasters. Also, it wasn't clear, to me, whether or not you were suggesting adjusting the grinder with or without beans while the grinder was running. Last, I am new to electric grinders - used hand grinders for years with my moka pot - and currently using an inexpensive electric Oster / Mr Coffee, but in the dozens and dozens of electric grinder reviews / tutorials that I've watched in the last few months, you are the first person that I recall mentioning that you must adjust the grind size while the grinder is running. So that's very interesting to me.

Thank you for watching. We are sure Lance or James have made something similar on their channels. They are more extensive on their reviews.
Not demanding at all, are you. I want, I I need... lol check yourself
The inhale sounds OMFG
Thank you for watching.
Can it make coarse grind for cold brew? I’m interested in getting this grinder and their scale for espresso but also cold brew.
I’ve been using this for both Cold Brew and Espresso with no problem
@@lamhoman Great to hear, thanks for info 👍🏽
Do you really need to turn on the grinder in order to change grind size? I never did that...
That's pretty much standard practice on all electrical grinders.

@@mansonitefirefox thank you for your input. Our experience is different and we would always recommend it.

Every post from Varia & Baristas saying this is espresso focused grinder, not designed for filter coffee.
Thank you for watching.
No here in germany I read it's good for filter too. I want to buy it for using it with filter and espresso

We only aim to show the compatibility between the grinder and the April Brewer. More in-depth reviews you can easily find elsewhere on UA-cam.
My varia gen 1 just died, so i asked for a gen 2 replacement… and it died in a week, after stalling of and on for the week. 😢
That's a challenge. Perhaps, look into Timemore Sculptor or the Option-o mini.
Damn your Gen 2 died as well?? Makes me not want to get one.
I’m saving for a weber hg-2, tired of electric for now, back to the hand grinder until then.
@@christophergreen2106 what hand grinder are you using now?
A peugot
